She looked up with a knowing smile at her mate as he spoke, speaking with a softly sarcastic lilt to her voice though it was by no means malicious, "You say that now, but wait until I leave you with them while I take a break." She winked at him, having no intention of leaving her pups for any amount of time until they were older. By then, they would be more than capable of wandering about on their own anyway. Her gaze dropped to Chor when she settled on her mother's paw, lowering her head to lick the pup's little tuft of hair before glancing to her son dutifully. The location of each pup was a constant must-know, and her scarlet eyes smiled as Terbu caught the leaf and came back like a prince in arms. They grew so fast, in no time they would be disappearing on their own, not needing mother or father to assist them at all.

The little pup's eyes fluttered open for a moment, her head lifting and turning to snatch futilely at the leaf, just once, before she turned back and returned her head to its pillow with a plop, her tiny tail waggling slightly as she closed her eyes a second time. Perhaps there would be a time in the future when she and Terbu would go off on their own. But for now... just for now... everything was perfect.
