Ravi had taken to offering a blank stare to the world beyond the window as Kim's words filled the empty air. Yes, he had read up on the role the tengu played with Yoshitsune no Minamoto. But a broad, almost wicked grin spread across his face once the girl mentioned besting the crow-like creatures. Defeat it in a battle of magic and weaponry? Well, Ravi certainly wasn't the best with either swords or spells, but he wasn't bad, either. He didn't want an apprenticeship with the tengu, though... no. He was looking for something that would help him. A second pair of hands. Perhaps a birdlike creature was too, so to say, flighty.
A frown resumed its presence on his countenance. "Maybe not, then," he spoke, softer than before. "Maybe---"
He was interrupted by a blaring announcement over the P.A. system.
"The library will be closing in thirty minutes. Please be sure to return all unshelved items to their properly designated station. Thank you."
The red-head released his breath with a slight pout. "Guess I'm pretty much out of time. Well," he said, standing, "I'll start reshelving. It was nice to meet you," he said, nodding. It seemed as if the man's smiles were reserved only for his more diabolical thoughts.

Hearing the announcement, Jae Eun jumped a bit in her seat, before quickly pulling out her handphone. She didn't hear his 'maybe's, or see the strange grin on his face.

Yup, she had definately just spent the past hour and a half talking to a red-head she had just met. Looking back at him, she smiled.
"Nice to meet you too!" Standing up, she looked at the pile of books on the table, and then back at Ravi with an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry! I'd stay and help you reshelve, but I need to go pick up my brother from the airport!"
Bowing again, she quickly gathered her stuff, and put the two books she had procured earlier back on the shelf. Turning to Ravi for the last time, she waved at him, and quickly departed, wondering if she'd run into him again some other time.

Ravi turned to watch with apathetic eyes as the girl left the library floor from the same steps she'd used to enter. Strange girl, he thought, or rather, normal. Ravi expected a student of mythology to be eccentric, or to have at least a passing interest, if not a lasting obsession, with the occult. It came with the territory, didn't it?
His eyes drifted back down to the notes he had taken before the student's appearance. Perhaps not. Ancient lore was fascinating, but its more magical inclinations were esoteric by nature. Only the trained eye could find the subtext that chimerical mosters and omnipotent gods possessed. He couldn't expect everyone, even a pupil majoring in the subject, to fully grasp that. But it would have been an interesting sight indeed. Magic was alive in the world... people just had to know where to find it.
Slipping out his reverie, Ravi blinked and checked his wrist for the time. Only fifteen minutes now. Scooping the books in his arms, he decided to put them back manually. He did so almost begrudgingly; going back and forth between shelf and desk was a slow and testing process. To distract himself, he thought of things to do once he got home.
Bast would probably be more than a little angry with him, but like most cats, a few purr-inducing scratches were likely to change her temperament. Later, he'd get some coffee and review his notes. He'd taken plenty, but none of them had answered his own questions or needs. Still, the more knowledge Ravi had, the better. And perhaps something would occur to him in the morning. The dew and early breezes and sound of newspaper were quite the muses in his household.
Once his job was completed, he left the building with his notes in tow. The air outside was cool, but a little heavy. "It'll rain soon..."
