Chath had forgotten that Thomas was a mind-reader and felt ashamed as his teacher chastiesed him. He had issues with just this spell alone, it was way too early to be thinking of learning other spells.
"Yes sir." He replied as he turned to face the target, raising his palm out in front of himself he visualized what he wanted, felt the power still within him and he summoned a large marble sized globe of water that floated just above the palm of his hand. He had practiced like a mad man, and had eventually gotten the globe to this size. That alone was a feat. Chath was not a very good magic user despite his many hours of practice. It just didn't come naturally to him.
Taking a slow and controlled breath he released it after a moment and then looked at his target, eyes narrowing he felt the power stir again. Control and patience, focus....that was key focus. Pulling himself together he took another breath and then let the water float towards the tips of his fingers.
With a flick of his wrist he sent the water ball flying towards the center, though it offscewed last moment drastically and ended up hitting the second ring on the outside. Feeling disappointed he hadn't gotten center Chath wished he could try again but knew it wouldn't be fair for Legeia if he got to try again whilst he didn't.
Turning to face the teacher he gave a I did my best smile and awaiting for a comment that he knew was coming.

Thomas watched with that same expressionless gaze, his arms folded and little sign of approval or disapproval either way. For a while he let Chath stand there as he observed the target.
"Very good." He said at length, turning his gaze back to the lad, "Your aim will improve with practice. Both of you seem to have put some effort into learning this skill so you both have approving marks." He made his way back to his desk. "Take your seat."
He lowered himself down into his own chair, scribbling on a pair of papers. "If you wish to continue your studies you both know where to find me. Magic is not something to be taken lightly." He reached his hands out, offering a paper to each boy, "I do hope that these skills will serve you well in the future."

Chath felt the lump in his throat eb and fade away, okay he got some praise that was good. That meant he didn't fail. His largest ear now behind him he moved to Thomas and reached for the paper that the teacher was handing to them.
"Um...Sir, I would be interested in haveing you teach me...more.." he started feeling a bit embarrassed and he couldn't look at the paper in his hands, too afraid to see what was written there. When did he become such a coward?
He would look once he left the classroom, though his curiosity was starting to gnaw away at him.
"Should I get my mother to make arrangements?" he continued awaiting his teachers response.

The owl had watched the way that Chath had done his spell and the spell that he had done, Oooo a water spell! His wings had given a flutter as he work on the spell, moved the water and then when he had hit the target. What a neat looking spell. He gave Chath a bright smile when the other boy headed back to his desk as if to say 'good work' in a quiet manner.
Ligeia took the paper offered to him before he gave a nod, "I look forward to it." He said, he rather liked Thomas after getting used to how he ran his classes with the mind thing. After all how could he not like the one that had shown him how to do his spells? He looked down at the paper to see what was said on it, quite curious about what the paper had to say.
Vorel lifted up some to crane his head over the desk to get a peek at the paper as well his understand of reading was a little weak but he could make out some words.

Chath's Report Card | Assignment #1 : Element groups and presentation| A | Took notes, gave his group imput during the presentation assignment, and seemed to understand the material. | Assignment #2 : Spell casting basics | A | Paid attention and worked hard, managed to call on his element well enough| Assignment #3 : Final | A | Performed required spell, showed improvement from over the semester. ___________________________________ Very nice work. I do hope to see you return to my lectures in the future. Do not forget to pratice whenever you have time, and if you don't have time make time.

Thomas raised a slow brow to Chath's request, then glanced off to the side. He hadn't expected anyone to actually -want- to return here under his teaching. It was only his first term in this school- in fact this realm entirely. So far two children under him had been shot, two had run away... the last two seemed intersted in further instruction under him.
He looked back and nodded a bit, "Mmmm.. see that she does."
He looked back down to his paper work and began to scribble some more. "You both enjoy your break."

Ligeia looked down at the paper and read it over, wings giving a bit of a flutter as he read off both the grades and the comments left by the teacher both something he found rather exciting. He'd done very well in the classes, had gotten 'A's and good remarks! He couldn't wait to show this to his father!
"Thank you." He said, smiling brightly at his teacher, then turned to show the paper to Vorel, "Isn't it great?"
Vorel nodded his head, he wasn't sure all of what it meant but if Ligeia was happy then so was he.

Chath assumed by Thomas's final words that they were dismissed, though he made a mental note to get his mom to sign up for more classes with the teacher. He was very interested i the whole Salamander thing Thomas had mentioned in his private lesson.
He watched as Ligiea looked at her own paper and seemed really happy with her results. Chath on the other hand usually calm and cool about such things was fairly nervous. Perhaps because he had found this class rather difficult.
Finally though he peeked down to see that he had gotten straight A's down the line for all the classes he had participated in. Even the first class in which he had been very lat for. breathing a sigh of relief he gave Thomas a wave before exiting the classroom. Kier following close behind.
Yes...he was definitely going to see more of this teacher.a

Ligeia looked over as Chath headed off and looked over at Vorel as he got to his feet, scooping up his bag, "Come on Vorel, lets go and show this to Dad." He said, wings a flutter as were his ear tufts. He was now in the best of moods, felt as if he were walking on air even!
The owl boy gave the teacher a smile as he walked by, "See you again soon!" He said, waving before heading out himself Vorel following after his partner seeming quite happy as well as if Ligeia's mood had rubbed off on him.
The moment they were out of the classroom, and no longer having to remain calm and studious Ligeia gave a happy, if a bit loud scree sound, "Come on Vorel!" He said, rushing down the hall wings flapping as he ran to go to his father's office wanting nothing more then to show the man his grades.
Vorel echoed with a roar and followed in his wake.
