Jazz brought his head up so his friend wouldn't have to drop hers down to look into his face. He tried to give her a reasuring smile as he began to tell her about his son. "Well, she didn't really leave me with a foal. It is my responability to care for one while she cares for the other. I have two foals, a son and a daughter. My daughter is with Sundance and her name is Opera. My son lives with me and my mother and his name is Rhapsody. They are both two different shades of pink. Rhapsody is darker than his sister and a bit more insecure of his looks. I have not really met or gotten to talk to my daughter so I have no clue what she is like." he said, happy to speak of his son...even if his son didn't care much about anything.

Ever blinked for a bit. Pink? They must have gotten that shade from their mother since Jazz was definitely a red stallion. "I wouldn't blame him for being insecure about his coat. It's going to take a great mare to ever reach passed that when he's older. But..." There was still something he wasn't telling her. He ended on the daughter. Normally, a parent would be bragging about the one they already had, so it was odd that he wasn't. "What of Rhapsody?"

Jazz watched as she took in the information he had given her. His son really was insecure about his coat and he hoped that, like she had said, he would find a friend soon or a mare when he was older to help him get passed this issue. At her question, the red stallion sighed. "Well, he is a handful." he began, pausing trying to think of what to say next. "He seems to always wonder off from his grandmother and I. It's like he doesn't really care and would much rather be on his own than with his family. He is very argumentative too and fights about everything constantly. The only Soquili he looks up to is his grandfather!" he said soundly exhausted with trying to care for the young colt, as he was.

She saw that he indeed did look exhausted. Raising a child alone probably was tiresome, but he did have his mother Settia, whom Ever hadn't met. she took a few steps forward and nuzzled Jazz's head up a bit more. During her look-over, she hadn't noted the slight bags under his eyes or how limp his curls stood. "Maybe he's just feeling rebellious? He is your son, so however you were when you were younger is definitely implanted in him."

He sighed again and looked into her face and smiled. Atleast he could talk to her about what had been going on with him. "I don't know if he is rebellious or just insecure enough that he is putting up a facade. I know when I was younger I tended to run off on my own, which he does, but I don't know where he got the attitude from." he said. Sundance, Rhapsody's mother, certainly wasn't that way. Everytime he was with her she was happy. "But enough about my troubles. What have you been up too?" he asked wanting to also here how she had been faring this season.

She frowned throughly when he changed the subject to her. This sounded like a serious problem and her friend sounded so lost, confused, and hurt. She snorted, stomping a hoof in her own frustration. The child need some form of mother-figure in his life than his real mother seemed to be giving and Jazz's mother couldn't possibly do it on her own. "Sometimes, it takes a village to raise a child."
She tossed her head about, trying to release the emotions that were rolling inside her. She didn't used to always be so concerned over children, but so much had changed when she fell in love with Tawali. She had changed so much in a way. "I've been settling back down with my two-legger. I did something I'm not proud of, but she's daily reassuring me that I did my best. Funny how she's so sensitive to my moods," she said with a smile.
"But like I had said, I'm now mated with Tawali. We have no clue where to go from here, but you can only take it one hoof at a time." She closed her eyes for a brief moment, then peeked one icy blue eye open as she spoke. "I wouldn't mind helping you raise Rhapsody. I might not be his real mother, but I'm close enough to being an aunt, wouldn't you say?"

Jazz's head snapped up rather suddenly at his friends words. She was really offering her time to help him care for his son and maybe set the colt straight. "You would really do that for me?" he asked not sure if he heard her right or not. But by the look in her eye he knew she was sincere.
It was almost too much for him to all comprehend at the moment and he just sort of blinked and stared at her. "Wouldn't your mate be at little...weirded out by you helping me?" he asked not having met this Tawali and not sure if he would get on the other stallions bad side by having his friend help him.

Ever had not even thought about how her mate would react over her raising another stallion's child. She'd deal with it when she crossed that bridge and snorted again, flicking her tail hard. "He might, but a child's wellbeing is more important. 'Women and children first.' And Rhapsody will be our future when we're gone. I'll talk to him when I next see him."
She tilted her head to the side and watched him carefully. He seemed a bit more relaxed. "I want to help you, Jazz."

He nodded and felt extremely relaxed and calm. Now the only thing would be to actually have Rhapsody meet his "Aunt". "Thank you. You don't know how much this means to me." he said and gave a heavy sigh.
He just hoped he would pose a problem in his friends relationship with her mate. It might help if he were to meet this Tawali sometime and talk with him.

She dipped her head in response to his words, "You're welcome. What are friends for after all?" She grabbed one of his curls between her teeth and pulled at it until it was straight before she let go.

He chuckled as she played with his curls. His sister always did that when he happened to run into her. He took a deep breath, feeling much happier than he had earlier that day before running into Ever and was glad he got the chance to talk with her. It had helped him to clear his thoughts.
"Well, now that we have discussed how I am doing in great detail, tell me about this Tawali. I am tired of talking about me." he said with a wide grin. He really was interested in learning about this Tawali and wanted to make sure his friend was doing good.

She smiled cheekily, her eyes taking on a bright sparkle at the mere mention of her mate's name. She couldn't help but giggle a bit, sounding very much like a love-struck foal. "Remember when I spoke of my run in with wolves. Tawali was the stallion I was with. My tail feathers are his wing feathers that he gave me." She couldn't help but beam when she looked back and saw them there.
Her feather earring clicked together when she swung her back forward. "He's a wind, so he tends to fly freer than most birds. He's a complete foal at heart. But he's fiercely protective when danger is near. He's caring, kind, and handsome."

He smiled watching her as her mood changed completely in a single moment. He chuckled as she giggled. "Well, that is good to hear! Though I would think it would hurt to pull your own feathers out." he said looking at her tail feathers. He really couldn't imagine pulling out feathers since he didn't have any but it must have hurt a great deal. "I have met a wind, his name was Guilien. They aren't very different from any other Soquili." he commented thoughtfully.

She giggled again, stomping her hooves a bit in her joy and making her bracelets jingle. She always seemed to cheer up and gloat when talking about her mate. "No, they aren't very different." She giggled again. "Except in coloring. Tawali reminds me of the two-legger's skin, but not as dark."
She tilted her head to the side after realizing he had spoken of someone she didn't know. "Guilien?"

Jazz watched as his friend continued to giggle and act as giddy as a young foal. He couldn't help but to chuckle and smile to see his friend so happy. "He must be a very handsome and wonderfull stallion to make you so giggly." he commented remembering how his mother got when she got to meet up with his father every now and then. "Guilien is a bright red stallion, just like myself only brighter, that I had met sometime ago. He is a wind soquili." he explained.
