Moyenda's heart quickened as he watched. He felt like the ultimate fool ...and perhaps he was. It was true he hadn't placed any sort of limit on her actions but then again, it didn't matter too much. Rogues died all the time right? He'd only be adding to the circle of life. She lunged and he instinctively closed his eyes, knowing bolting off was already out of the question.
But ....all he got was a thwap with a tail? He blinked a couple of times with surprise, trying to make sure he hadn't imagined it. That was all? Nothing more? He decided to make the best of it and made a serious bow before her. "Thank you for your leinency." he said. "It's nice to know that there are still felines who are merciful to fools like myself."

She outright laughed as he bowed down to him, finding his curteous reactions worthless, and in their worthlessness hilarious. He had honestly expected her to kill him, even when he was larger and stronger then she. Moyenda had believed that harm would come to him on this day, and he had misjudged the leopardess who was lounging underneath the gnarly branches of the tree. "Oh, stop it already, kid." Oh dear, she had just called him a 'kid', when he was probably no older then she. Perhaps it was his actions that set him out as naive, and therefore childish. To her, he had made himself younger.
"You don't have to be so polite. I wasn't going to hurt you. I just didn't want you sniffing up my tree; I don't appreciate my meals getting stolen." She yawned then, paws reaching out in front of her in an elongated stretch. "Just don't do it again, or I may stray away from my normal mood and consider slashing you up."

She thought his bow was funny? She thought he was a child? A. He was positively serious about the whole bowing issue and couldn't help it if it was only natural that he do so. And B. how was he younger than her unless she was ancient. He raised an eyebrow to express said thoughts but didn't voice them.
"Well, I didn't know it was your's. And you could've simply said 'back off' and I would've left it alone. I'm seriously sorry for bothering you, no joke." he replied and paused before turning to leave, feeling quite bitter over the whole incident. Why did he have to be hungry in here of all places? Today was certainly not a good day.

Her eyes widened, not quite expecting this response out of the lion who she had considered 'tame'. He seemed angry, peeved, and all she had said was that he did not need to be quite so polite. A little nicetities and politeness was well and good, but too much of it proved to bring a boring character, in Alfajiri's opinion, into play. With a snort, she stood up, a little growl issuing forth from her throat.
"Look, now, I'm not taking what you're saying as a joke. I'm not insensitive. I am a leopardess, and I did not know you and what you would do if you were desperate enough. You could've been a brute bent on taking my meal. I would've had to catch you by surprise and fight you off, if things came to worse. I was doing all I could to protect myself and my meal. Do not think me nasty for it." She spoke this to his back, voice rising in pitch as her mind flared with anger and irritation. She had ruined his day, and he had ruined her's.

He stopped and turned around, realizing it wasn't over yet. Moyenda had to laugh. He could've been a brute? "I'm sorry, but surely you could tell by looking at me, there isn't much muscle to me. Using skill, speed, and tactics, you could've easily beaten me. Maybe I'm a fool for revealing that to you but I thought it was obvious." he said shaking his head.
Moyenda stood there thinking for a moment. And sighed. "Ok, well, it's quite understandable that you'd be defensive. You worked for it." he assumed. "There really isn't much I can do. What's done is done. A pity the wind was blowing from here in the direction of my eager nose. If we had met under different circumstances, things might have gone differently."

She shook her head, meeting his gaze with level, but blank eyes. "You underestimate yourself. If you were desperate enough, you'd find the strength to take me down. I may be packed full of muscle, but this kill would not have been so great a loss, and I would have not fought to my full capability. You could've harmed me, and I would never, ever, take such a risk as underestimating somebody." Alfajiri was a leopard, trained to survive in the toughest of conditions by her mother, and her mother taught by her own mother, and so on and so forth. It had been passed down in her family, the knowledge to never trust someone, never misjudge someone.
"I do not believe that different situations will have different outcomes. You will leave, and you will not like me, no matter if we had met under less strained circumstances." She shrugged her shoulders cooly, and turning to her tree, dug her claws into the bark and propelled herself up and onto the lowest branch. There she remained perch, staring down at him through those yellow eyes. "I appreciate, though, you apologies."

If he underestimated himself, she didn't believe in herself. In her strength, perhaps yes but not so much in another aspect. He had only seen her on the defense ....and offensive but not when she was comfortable. She might actually make good conversation and be friendly in her own way. But she seemed determined not to believe such things so he didn't point it out. He shrugged absently and looked up at her in her perch and with a wry smile, replied, "glad to meet your aquantaince. I had a fun time."
He had been in a life and death situation - sorta - and here he was making jokes. He certainly wasn't the type to do so but he was in an odd mood today. He bowed again up to her and left. She had the personality of a queen. He was half-surprised she wasn't. Maybe they'd cross paths someday and things would turn out better. Maybe...

She dipped her head in a final farewell to him, and as he walked away, slowly blending into the distance, her eyes remained focused on his form, as if she was thinking about what could've happened under different circumstances. With a shake of her head, she dismissed such thoughts. Still she believed in her theory, that they were almost destined to dislike each other. It was not absolute hate between either of them, and Alfajiri would never search Moyenda out for some twisted revenge for ruining her day, and neither did she expect Moyenda to return and harm her.
This meeting was over, and Alfajiri was glad for it. She climbed higher up into the tree to rejoin her meal, and lazily she gnawed on a portruding rib, trying to dissolve her sour mood. "Some lions..." she murmured, and then for some reason unbeknowest even to herself, she burst out in rich laughter.
