They had to even the playing field- four on three was tempting odds, but it would be wise to keep things under control in such a place as this. The less s**t flying around, the better- but what was about to happen sort of contradicted that whole belief. Why? Because, despite the supposed importance of this world, Stryphe's reckless nature would still shine through. The thrill.
He was filled with a power- a familiar power. At first it disgusted him, reminding him of the charlatan, Falis. But, no. This was different- very different. He was feeling the essence of The Watcher coupled with that of James'- for the first time, Stryphe was amazed by the nature of their mysterious jewelry.
The woman and her summoned beast were in their path- but not for long.
Stryphe looked as if he was about to stand, but no. He'd sit on the headrest of the seat, one foot on the dash and the other on the actual seat. He aimed his halberd blade first at the horned monster, not having to battle against wind resistance. Not in this realm.
Now, there was no build up of power. No focus to summon his demonic energies- there was enough power built up within him right now that it was almost a relief to just let it all out. For a moment, he'd been focusing on keeping it within.
The air around him crackled, even here in this ethereal world. The focused, contained, concentrated energy he was building within himself caused the atoms in the air around him to interact erratically.
He would say nothing- only an impish grin would form. The green energy from his eyes- an effect caused by his physical body not being able to contain the focused spiritual energy, trailed behind the car.
Suddenly the trail would end and Stryphe halberd, the blade, would fill with a dark green glow. The energy flowing from his eyes was snaking its way along the pole of the weapon, up to the blade. It wasn't being fed Stryphe's power, no, the halberd was making a connecting with Stryphe's soul.
"If there are things I can do to save this damned mortal soul," He said to himself aloud, the cold, deep, gritty voice of the true Stryphe within his human body shining through, "defeating these people is probably one of them."
The blade of the weapon flared, simultaneously with the energy flowing from his eyes- his sockets, for a moment, were like two dark green stars, flaring with confidence and unparalleled conviction.
The blade of the halberd change, elongating and widening all at once. He turned it so that the flat end faced the hood of the car- the blade itself would widen into a dark green, glowing form that was wider than the car itself, and elongating still. He screamed, adrenaline and spiritual energy combining in his body to give him the ultimate rush.
The massive, glowing lance would reach Minxi and her summoned monster a split second after its transformation had begun, the boost of energy provided by James making the process go much quicker than it normally would.
There was no hiding from it- any movement from the side Stryphe would see instantly, and his control over the lance was still complete. Both the woman and her monster were caught in it's path. Minxi might be able to duck it then get struck by a car, but the monster would be able to do nothing but take the blade- a manifestation of concentrated energy so focus and, because it was channeled through the weapon, so concentrated that it would cleave not only any physical object, but any spiritual or metaphysical force. There was no stopping this power, the victim had only one option- to get out of the way.
However, these two were caught in the attack when Stryphe was under a powerful influence. Dodging would be damn near as difficult as dodging a bullet- only an extremely massive one.
