Legart was familiar with African superstitions--growing up in the Congo he'd heard all about dawa and how places with especially bad dawa were to be avoided, and how juju related to the central African beliefs of dawa.
This place, Gaia, had very ominous dawa.
However, no matter what he saw or experienced in his youth, Legart was more practical than that. There may have been some truth to the fortune-teller's words, but nothing that couldn't be fixed by handling the given situations correctly.
As the fortune-teller gave Tien the marble, Legart headed back to the car, crushing his used cigarette and lighting a new one.
Hopping into the car, he waited for the other two to get situated before driving back toward the beach.

Tokai backed away a little paler, "ummm...Thanks, bye." with that he hurried back to the car, his mission to get something for his sister forgotten. In the car he mutter to himself as he lite a cig and began checking his raging bull, "nothing going to stop me," breaking into hushed Japanese as he waited for them to move on.

"Huh." Tien mumbled, surprised at this turn of events. He never would have thought to find a marble here. "Thank you." He said, knowing better than to look a gift horse in the mouth. With a nod, he stepped back out into the street and followed the Legart to the car. "Is that why you wanted to come out here?" He asked, swinging back into his seat and regarding his prize. Oh, and remembering to buckle up.
