"Most of us. She said calmly, lifting a paw to lick off some blood from the pads. That done she looked back at the cub. "some of us don't bother. Some of us are weak. " she shrugged. "At least for zebra. " Keone could do this.. But not with zebras. Keone was far to small and weak.
"I know a lion that does it too. " She smiled. Tatu did that, but she hadn't seen him in a while. "But he practiced a lot. For leopards it sorta comes natural. "

"That's really cool." The cub was still a little awe struck by the feat, and was for once at a loss of words. The zebra was so large, and the leopardess had lifted it up the tree with almost no problem at all. She couldn't even imagine herself doing something like that ever in her life. "Leopards are so cool." She sighed lightly, watching the adult with loads of interest. She wondered what it'd be like to be a leopard for a day, and if that was even possible. "Can leopard cubs do stuff like that, too?"

She couldn't help but feel proud at all this admiration, and flicked her tail tip in delight. She chuckled at the next question, and shook her head. "No. I have a son, he's just started climbing. " She smiled, curling her tail around her paws.
"His name is Usiku, and he's far too little to take prey up. " She said calmly. "Save for maybe a tiny little mouse, if he ever caught one. " She chuckled at the thought of Usiku clumbsly scrabbling after a mouse.

"Oh." Just the fact that the cub could climb was worth admiration in Intombi's eyes. Her sad scramble up bark could hardly be called real climbing. Even that she would loose with time. As her body would grow, she'd more than likely loose the ability to scrape up a tilted tree. The leopards, on the other hand, only became more skillful in the art over time.
Looking up at the sun, the cub noticed with a slight start that it was almost midday. The sun was blistering out on the savannah, and her mama would most crtainly want her home in the den during this hottest point of the day. A bit reluctantly, she looked at the adult with a sort of sad look. "I gotta get going. Mama wants be bag at around this time so I don't burn to death." She shrugged her shoulders a bit. "Tell Usiku I said hey." A little smile played on her maw, and then she turned and padded off into the heat.
