It ruffled Mingan's feathers, so to speak, that Ravii only had him as her friend. It was too bad that he only had Rochir and Futé as friends to introduce to the lavendar and creme wolf. Well, there was that.. yellow male, but he was far from personable when it came to others. He would only hurt Mingan, and possibly Ravii herself.
"Where did you come from?" he asked suddenly, feeling a bit bad about it as he did not quite remember where he came from himself. All he remembered was hurt and anger.
But he could at least tell her about how he came about his friends, and maybe even the story of the yellow wolf whose name he could not remember. Maybe they could travel together some day and help each other be strong in the face of meeting new wolves.
Mingan's thoughts wandered as he awaited her response. Maybe it was true that the grey wolf thought way too far ahead for his own good sometimes, but he wouldn't be too put down if things didn't work the way he imagined them exactly.

Ravii pricked her ears at Mingan's next question. Where did she come from. . . ? The cream shewolf paused a moment, tilting her head thoughtfully as she did her best to remember. It had been such a long time ago. . . .
"You know," she finally replied with a gentle laugh, "I don't remember where I originally came from. Somewhere else . . somewhere far from here. . . . or maybe it was nearby, who knows." Her blue eyes dimmed, though any grief she might have felt was long since forgotten. She wasn't sad that she knew not her origins, but it was a mystery she always questioned. "I do know that I stumbled upon these parts when I was very young, and lived up to my adolescent life wandering these parts. I learned how to survive out here, which is why just recently I've returned. If I have any place to belong, it would be here."
Her smile returned to its vibrant shades, and her blue eyes danced with delight. "And what a good decision it has been, so thank you, my friend, for making it a wonderful return."
Tail wagging, the wolfess rolled lazily to her side, creaning her neck to look up and over at Mingan. "What of yourself. . .?" She didn't explain about any of her exact whereabouts between adolescence and now. Really, Ravii didn't know where she'd been - she'd been all over, really. As far as neutral territories allowed, and then some.
She'd done a lot of growing up outside of Shaoilin, but this truly was where her heart was. No other place could be so easily labeled 'home'.

"Mmm" the wolf made a soft sympathetic noise. "My tale is very similar." He grinned wildly and glimpsed briefly from his tail to hers.
"I don't remember much.. but I remember the first thing I did in the woods. I helped pull a wolf - the spotted of the pair - out of a hole." It was true, he had forgotten all of his fears and ran to the aid of a stranger. The wolf couldn't have been that bad, being in a hole, his friend struggling to help him out but unable until Mingan had come along. But it did not make the grey one proud or big headed, only proud that he had overcome himself.
"Belonging here is best. What's the point if you can't belong where you are?" The wolf's own words puzzled himself, but he felt as if they had deeper meaning somewhere. "I can not remember were I was before helping at the hole, but I know it was not suitable for any wolf. But none of that matters, what matters is what I do in the future, and the present."
This wolf made him see himself. She was the first one he could open up to, maybe because she was timid and peaceful like himself. She made him want to track down a Seer, but he had heard that most were unsavory types that liked to play evil mind games instead of help.

Ravii was saddened slightly about the fact that Mingan too remembered little of his past. In fact, from the context that he spoke, it appeared that he recalled more than just his puppyhood. Unless he was young when he'd saved his friend. . . That was a possibility - Mingan's story was vague and left much to the imagination.
Whatever the case, though, his words did ring true and do her heart some good. His positive outlook on the events of his life and his lack of memories was refreshing. Perhaps she too should take his words to heart. "You are entirely true," Ravii's words were cheerful and her tail tip wagged happily. "And I hope that you're able to do whatever it is you dream about. I truly, truly do," yes, the wolf couldn't help but hope for her new friend. No matter what his aspirations and hopes were, the shewolf could only hope he achieved them all. "Living for today and keeping hope for tomorrow. . those are good words to abide by."
Shimmying a bit closer to Mingan, Ravii was greatly pleased. Here she was, back within the comfort of her woods, and she had already made a kind friend and ally. What more could she have asked?
"I've found a good friend in you, I can tell. I'm glad we ran in to each other this day."

Mingan was right about something, and not just to himself! This was delightful to hear.
"Maybe some day I can find a peaceful Seer - if there is such a thing." A big part of the grey wolf was becoming very happy with who he was, just by this visit. It wasn't really all that bad to be cautious when meeting strangers, but it wasn't exactly comfortable creeping through the woods like he did. It even struck him as odd how he could be feeble minded, but strong minded at the same time.
"I want to be myself.. but I want to function." He reached out and nosed her shoulder when she got closer. "All my life, fear and hiding and fear and pain. I am a wolf! But they call me a scaredy-cat." he groaned.
It wasn't like he was searching for a scapegoat, someone to blame his problems on, though he knew that he wasn't responsible. He had been scarred deeply, not just on flesh and muscle, and this was the way he acted now. "Forgive me, I'm not normally one to complain..." he gave a weak smile. "I just don't want to live scared of my own shadow for the rest of my life."

So he did want to see a Seer. . . Oh, how that did Ravii's heart good to hear! Perhaps the quirks that she had noticed earlier upon meeting could be fixed, could be healed completely. Perhaps someday Mingan could truly be himself and live without the overwhelming fear.
"I must admit, I've never met one in my travels," she spoke softly, reaching over to gently nuzzle the grey and black eared wolf. "But," she added, a spring of hope welling up, "I'm sure we could find one for you. They heal wolves. . . you could be healed."
That Ravii was certain. The stories she'd heard of Seer's were nothing like the nightmares Mingan understood them as. Oh no, Ravii knew the wolves were used for good. Together they could find him help, they could patch up his wounds and soothe his spirit.
"You are a wolf, Mingan. And they may call you a scaredy-cat but I don't see you afraid now. You may be shy and cautious, but so am I, and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't see a scaredy-cat, I see Mingan.
"I don't want you to live in your fear," Ravii whined softly in her throat, offering him another reassuring nuzzle. "But you know what? You don't have to. You're stronger than you may think you are, that much you've proved to me. We'll find you a kind Seer. . . . We truly will."
There was no doubt in her voice, oh no. Ravii lived for her friends, and therefor, lived for Mingan. If she needed to hunt down a Seer, as strange and mysterious as they were, then she would . . . .

"I haven't either." he admitted. He knew of them, and shamans too, but had never met either one. Well, that would be a lie, Futé was an aspiring shaman, the spotted male was supposed to have been able to heal by fire, but Mingan didn't know that at the time.
"I'm not sure, I mean, I know that it is healing, but moreso a realization maybe?" He was never really clear on how those things worked, but sitting and talking it over with Ravii he didn't much fear the unknown.
He dipped his head, clearly flattered. If wolves could blush he would be beet red, instead he puffed his cheeks out, causing the whiskers near his nose to spring to life and fluff out every which way. "Thank you, again." He was happy she was seeing him for who he was.
Mingan turned his nose to the sky and gazed at the clouds for a moment. "Yes, yes maybe we will."

As Mingan looked to the sky, Ravii ducked her head to rest it upon her paws. She listened to the grey and black-heared wolf, and took a moment to contemplate their next course of action. Mingan truly could use a meeting with one of the . . . . different ones. The wolves that were made up of legend and myth, the wolves that were within a league of their own.
Throughout her travels, the cream and violet female had yet to meet one. Though she'd met many acquaintences, none were of that ability. . . except . . . well. . there were many strangers she'd passed too.
Had she unknowingly met one, or been so close without ever knowing?
To be a shaman, a seer, Ravii couldn't help but imagine them standing out from a normal wolf. But perhaps her judgements and perceptions had been wrong? Were they as normal in appearance and personality as the average joe. . . . Would she truly not be able to tell one from another?
The wolfess mulled over such thoughts, falling quiet as she rested beside her new friend. "I think, perhaps, their magic is both. A little assistance in . . . whatever it is they do . . . and a self-realization as well. I'd imagine you'd have to let them do what they. . . do . . . or at least want to change. Whatever the case, whether or not you wind up finding one, you're still a friend."
That wouldn't change. . . at least not with Ravii. Once a friend, always a friend, that's how the wolfess rolled.
