You oughta carry a little hand-cleaning kit then...a small nail brush & a little bottle of some good scrubbing soap. Where Eirwyn works they keep Gojo available so she can scrub her hands really good when she gets 'em dirty or greasy, but if they didn't have an adequate soap, she'd bring her own.

I might, if I didn't have a small locker thats meant to have my bike jacket, and home boots since I don't fancy risking a accident with my steel toe-caps on. I like having toes ninja
Actually, I'd not do it even if I could. Last friday after lunch I went to my locker, to find the office workers upstairs had been in it to lift the lockers up and attach it to the wall off the floor.

Ah. Eirwyn has a big shoulder bag which holds her lunch, her drinks, a little first-aid kit because she doesn't feel like running around looking for somebody else to take care of plain ol' cuts, her stomach & headache medicine, her hand lotion (because both yarn sizing & Gojo soap are very drying), & her tools. She stuffs it into her workstation cabinet. A very small hand-cleaning kit would fit in a pocket, though. You'd just have to keep the bottle of soap refilled. Cheaper to buy economy-size bottles of soap, anyway.

We're not even allowed to take a silly little plastic bag back from the warehouse, because 'its able of holding coin' rolleyes Thats the same reason we're made to remove our boots and have our feet wanded over by the guard. Not so good if ya got a hole in ye socks. xd

Yeah, it's the metal patina, I think. My hands get horrible when I sand down the sides of a metal beam at work--absolutely filthy, covered with dark grey! :X I run & scrub it all off as soon as I finish!

I read the other day on some science web site that it's actually your skin, and not the metal itself, that you "smell"... the iron (whatever) interacts with your skin and there's a chemical reaction there that some folks can smell. They equated it with some human instinct to "smell blood" or the iron in it, anyway....
Regardless of the science behind it, it's still a bit weird IMHO to have that on your hands and to combine it with food.... *blech*

Oh no no, my hands don't get the smell of money, since they're in small sachets, which are in a larger bag. Plus theres my gloves, which have a hole in them! scream
Hehehehehehe, Poor ol' George. The guy in my total actually smiled last Friday. Then again I did have a £10 in my hand.

i expect London still has the largest immigrant population of the whole country. i used to work with a cockney chap, he moved up here from London and couldn't believe the lack of coloured faces in this area, he said his had been the only white family on his street eek
