Oh if only Nara had the strenghth to punch the guy. She was not questioning if he had what it took, or whatever the man seemed fixated on. She wanted to be absolutely clear that he knew this wasn't just a sign the paper's type deal. Fine. She'd just have to hope that the man didn't panic at the first sight of what was going on.

Shooing the man ahead of her Nara paused a moment, thinking on how to do this. About the only thing she could think of would probably be laughed at by any respecting scientest or mage. But it likely the only thing that might work.

Ignoring Talner and Nate, the relic kneeled in front of the cross, clasping her hands and closing her eyes. For a moment she thought, straightening out what she wanted in her head. Ready, she gestured for Nate and Talner to join her. Mouth twisting in an ironic smile she mouthed the words she had heard from her paster since she was little, "Let us pray."

Nara never really understood why churches always had such flowerey prayers. Or felt the need to dictate what everyone said. For her it was simple, just sort of start talking.

Please allow Nathaniel, who had no choice in his guardian, to choose a new bond. Please help him forge a new one with the one he chooses. Nara repeated the prayer, keeping her mind open and focused.

Apparently it was enough to do something. Unlike unsealings, where the bond is first formed, Nara began to glow from the inside out. It was like someone had turned a lightbulb on inside her, only instead of everything becoming red it became the same green as the mist. Wrapping the three tightly it became impossible to see what was happening.

Something inside Nathaniel snapped, painfully, and like a broken piece of string went flying the other way. After a moment of drifting, alone without a tether it seemed to settle, and the pain the boy had been feeling dissapeared. With that the mist was gone, and Nara was lying flat on her back unconsious.
