"Did you really think I didn't think of any counters against fires?" Snow scoffed, a subtle bitter tone evident in his voice. "Did you really think that I didn't think of any alternative uses against water?"
He cursed, a sudden change in attitude.
"The use of water has the limitations. Even conjuring up the ability to freeze - to the point of absolute zero, it would take too much energy from the user itself. If we ignore that fact and focus on the use of water, yes, opponents need water to live and survive. But many are from ethereal realms, most of them having the uncanny ability to - let us say, go beyond human limits like it was a piece of cake or such...."
"Fire is best in offense. Water is defense. Wind as speed. Earth as mobility. The light as eternal. Darkness as subtle. And finally --"
He paused, clenching his fist.
"Metal as focus."
So engrossed in the memories of his past defeats that he didn't realize another customer within the restaurant. Blinking up in surprise at the new person here, he immediately went to action.
"Whipped cream and starfruit?" Odd combination, but hey, it's the customer's order. "Please wait while I go see if I have any starfruit...." he answered, wondering if there's some in the cooler as he walked to the kitchen.

Not taking offense to the tone he simply smiled, after all stressing over battle strats was something he did as well. "Strange, your culture puts a clear seperation between metal and earth...in mine they are one in the same." Taking thought of this for a moment he considered the next part of Snow's point. "Indeed there are very few humans who can truly survive in the this environment of immortals amond other things." Stretching his body he considered all of the elements he mentioned. "That is a unique way to look at the elemental cycles...does your culture not consider wood an element either?"

Returning out of the kitchen in a few seconds, he placed the desired whipped cream and starfruit to the waiting customer before walking back to Saphen.
".........."
A pause.
"I am not in league with any cultures. I was not born like a human, nor born as an inhuman. The elemental cycles are but a list of the common things which form the basics of this world around us. Of course, there is more to just those elements, but among the many, those are the most common which occur to us....
....beings, as natural."
Taking a seat, Snow slowly clenched his fists, feeling the uncomfortable ache happening again inside his body.
"I am not a magician, nor a fighter. I am neither a knight, nor a wizard. My ways are of no culture, and my life, of no concern to your curiosity. Elemental configuration is but a simple understanding which I have done research on. As for your question of wood...
Where does wood come from, if not from the very Earth itself? Through those that sprout from the soils, which make our world, that is Earth. Wood is but a part of something more basic...nothing more."

" Elements link to eachother in natural cycles but just because wood thrives in earth, does not mean it is earth. That is something one could argue either way which is why general elemental theories are indeed a biased account of the natural balance. One could argue that since metal is from ore's deep within the earth than metal is merely earth as well. Wood though is a life form, a being that is living and alive. Humanity does not consider it self an element though we like wood need the elements to survive and endure. I am not saying that any of these are right or wrong but rather ways to look at them. Which is why I asked if there was a cultural account behind it and meant no offense by it. I as well have done countless research on the source and the main differences in the beliefs of elemental cycles are cultural. China for example has no wind as an element while other verify that wind is not only an element but an important one. Though you may not be in league with any cultures you certainly use weapons from one cultural area in particular which begged the question to begin with."
Saphen thought for a moment after all he had not meant to turn this into an argument of any sort and meant no disrespect...he was simply curious and his long winded nature never helped get his point accross quite the way he wished it. "But like I said there really is no right and wrong to such things, just different views of the same apple."

"The elements are made of one another. What one lacks, the other provides." Snow muttered, giving a light shrug. "There is no offense taken. I'm just more adapt at one type of element unlike the other bastards out there --"
To the bastards, he would be referring to the elementalists and magicians laughing their beards off.
" -- However, we do have different perspectives, you and I. There might not be much sense in talking this, but you use some particular elements among battle, do you?"

"Indeed like yourself I am only adept at one or a couple depending on how you look at it. I am an Earth user though if you don't consider metal a type of Earth than I am considered a Earth/Metal user. Though I do agree with you that all elements are connected. With this in mind is exactly how I fight my battles." Pondering for a moment he could only smile at the thought of his next attempt at a victory. "Though who knows how that will turn out...the more battles that are won the harder the opponent's become."

"And thus more satisfaction is granted when you climb up the corpses of your enemy..."
He paused again, this time sitting down and leaning against the chair a bit. "The world is but a fantasy where all things are connected. Coincidences and strings tie one event to the next. There is no cause, no effect, no beginning, no end..."
Closing his eyes, the air around him cooled a bit. "All is all within the world of without."

"This is true though if I can win with out turning them into a corpse than all the better." Considering the rest of Snow's conversation he pondered for a moment letting the words sink into his head. "Whether you believe in some kind of God or not one has to believe that the world had a focal point in which it was born. From that one domino fell all of the others." Removing his glasses he let the hot air from his mouth fog them before cleaning them on his shirt sleeve. "I have to believe though regardless that I will never get to see all the splendors of the universe before I perish."
