The boy wasn't hiding his face to be cute. Rather, Nikolai was trying very hard to think of something other than the fall. The vague memories were still terrifying, and the thought of flying made him cringe. If flying ment he had to fall again... he would rather not at all.
The offered hand was completely ignored as Nikolai hid his face from all on the bus.
"I don't know what's gotten into him... normally he's so sweet." Jade murmured, holding onto her son worriedly.

"I'd take you too, I would," she replied to Kemuri, " Or teach you so you'd fly up up up too." She nodded, reassuring Kemuri that she'd not forget her offer. She'd would do the same for Nikolai, however he seemed frightened at the thought.

"Sure." He said as he agreed to let Anya take him on Flying lessons. He was excited yet scared to go on these lessons. A young not-yet-Airborne Herald... giving flying lessons. He still acepted the offer because he wanted to learn to fly, professional techer or not.
"aw... don't be afraid." Kemuri said as he kept his hand reached out to the little starry winged Herald boy. Kemuri turned his full body around as he kneeled on the seat and looked back at the boy with soothing eyes and a charming smile.

Stroking Nikolai's head, Jade shook her own at Kemuri. "Hon, you may want to just let him relax... He hasn't had his nap yet today. He's bound to be tired."

The bus steadied to a stop, released it doors, and let off a couple passengers. Cars chugged along side of the bus, as the snow gently slowed to a stop. In a few minutes, the bus closed it's doors and join the traffic once more.
"Hey Anya," Lizz said, as she gathered their things scattered across the seat, "get your stuff ready because the next stop is ours."
Anya repositioned herself in the seat as an acknowledgment to her Mamma-bat's request, but she still looked over at Kemuri and Nikolai.
"Speaking of naps, I don't remember the last time when you actually took one."
Anya winced. Nap time wasn't her favorite part of the day.

Sighing deeply, Jade held her Herald with a smile on her face. Cooing sofly to him, she kept him warm in her embrace and tried to lull Nikolai to sleep. "Hush little baby, don't say a word.. Mama's gonna buy you a mocking bird. And if that mocking bird don't sing..." She continued the song in a whisper that only Nikolai could hear well, and within a few minutes, Nikolai was sound asleep with his hands gripping her jacket weakly. Shifting, the boy put his thumb into his mouth, and Jade chuckled softly at the sleepy boy's actions.

Kemuri watched as the little girl seemed to dislike the thought of having a nap. Kemuri haven't had naps because he was never forced to. He wondered what nap time was like, sleeping in the middle of the day, waking up sleepily, feeling refreshed.
"stay safe Anya. really safe with the flying too." He said with a smile to the little girl.
Kemuri turned back to the young Nikolai, watching him sleep, so peacefully too. 'do all little boys sleep so soundly?' he thought to himself. He smiled.

"I'll be safe. There's no monster that can hurt mee." she replied, grinning as she did so. She had faced countless of monsters. There was the skyeaters and the salt shakers. She couldn't forget the blanket stealers either. Yeah, if she could face them, she could face anything.
Lizz just giggled, and continued to watch the road drift by.

Kemuri grinned at the little Herald. He had met a new friend. He waved to them, seeing as they were about to leave the public transport soon. He wasn't getting off for a few more stops, to pick up Lily from her Classes. She normally would go alone, but she insister Kemuri come pick her up.
Kemuri watched the young boy sleep once more.

"I'm sorry Lizz, but I don't understand your girl one bit..." Jade murmured with confusion stricken across every inch of her expression. "I suppose she'd be even worse with sugar..."
Sighing contently in his sleep, Nikolai curled tightly against Jade and was shifted to allow the toddler-esque child to nap more comfortably in Jade's arms. Still sucking on his thumb as he slept, his little wings twitched and quivered through the nap as he dreamed.

"That's okay." Lizz laughed, " I guess you can't really understand her unless you look at the world as she does, you know?"
Smiling, she ruffled Anya's hair playfully.
"Hey now!" she growled, not looking as amused as her mother. But she couldn't keep the facade up long, and smiled soon after. It was then the bus slowed to a stop.
"Well, I guess this is us."

Kemuri waved. "Bye Anya. hope to see you around~" He called out to the herald and her guardian. He grinned at the two as they left. He wanted some more time with them, but it was anready their stop and then yea...
He watched the Nikolai sleep until his stop.

"Be sure to come visit my bookstore in the next town over." Jade called to Lizz. "Nikki helps me out as well, so he should be able to keep Anya entertained."
Turning to Kemuri, she smiled. "Have you taken care of someone younger than you before Kemuri?" Jade asked curiously, wondering just what Kemuri thought of her little ward. "You probably don't have children of your own yet though, huh?"

"No children. unless you count Lily as a child..." He said as his voice drifted off. "just, no children. I don't think i can handle it." He said with a chraming smile, still watching the young boy in his deep slumber and trip to dream land...
Kemuri hadn't thought of having children before. He wondered the joy of having children... Being able to take care of them with all the love yu can give them... Watching them grow...

"Oh... I'm sorry." Jade murmured, stroking Nikolai's hair as he slept. A sad smile broke out on her face, and she sighed. "My fiance passed away before I could have my own children." She said softly. "Nikolai was a heaven sent, I think. In more ways than one." Jade's smile quivered a bit, and she wiped at the corner of an eye. "Ugh, these buses are dusty...."
