"Yeah, he must," Chachili nodded, guiltily, and cursed herself that she'd brought up the subject, "And this Kibaraka? A hare, you say?"
She smiled. Hares often allied with klipspringer.s There seemed to be a connection between the two species. Chachili herself had a close hare friend, who was even present during the birthing of her daughters.
"You should keep friends like that," she chuckled, thinking of Indura, "Hey, maybe he'll even teach you how to box."
Turning, she noticed that Mkimya was wide awake... and she, herself, needed her sleep.
"You haven't slept in a while," she said, chuckling kindly, nudging her daughter in the back with her nose, "Come, come inside the den. Nestle next to your sister. Tomorrow's a big day."

Mkimya nodded and stood to get inside the den. She flopped down next to her sister and stared at her mom. "But I'm not tired..." She said sleepily.
She was infact tired. She yawned and nuzzled up against her sister trying to keep an 'awake appearance.
But she failed.
The fawn nodded off to sleep without even knowing she did.

Chachili gave her daughter a small lick as Mkimya's eyes closed for the last time of the night. How comfortable it was in here, with her two daughters, Pura and Mkimya. She couldn't help but remember the two, small grey bodies that had lay in there only months ago. Kukuru and Makuu.
They were coming closer.
She settled down and nestled in next to her children, and looked at them with loving, sad eyes. She'd cherish these two. They were her only hope left in the world.
"Someday you'll know," Chachili whispered to her sleeping girls, and lay her own head down onto her hooves, "But for now, I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry. You'll have to make do with lies."
She'd protect them. She'd always protect them.
