* A monster approaches ...Prompt 1.22.07
Your Herald has lived her whole life with her brother. They raised each other with little to know interaction with human/demon/angel/or otherwise. Animals have always been their companions. Now, she and her brother have ventured into an unknown for them. They know the language, though they've never had it taught to them.
The two siblings split up, and it is then that you come across the female. She has seemed to take a liking to you and has chosen to stay with you.
Why the sudden change? Why is it that she and her brother have decided to leave their wooded homes? Were they having dreams about another life in which their life's meaning was in giving a message? Does your Herald remember her message; and for that matter, does she know what she is? Why did she choose you? Eoghan's soft pale hands started pushing against his twin and his soft voice started muttering, "Wake up, Sis...Wake up. I'm thirsty...I don't want to go out alone to the brook...Wake up. Come on, you've been sleeping since the sun was high."
Nozomi woke up slowly and gave a long yawn. She rolled over and looked at her brother. She smiled gently at him, "I'm feeling kind of thristy as well. Give me a second to fix my hair, then we can head down to the brooke." She gently rose from her place of slumber and headed over to brush her hair.
Eoghan smiled and rolled his grey eyes. Picking himself up from the floor of their cute little treehouse, Eoghan fluttered his wings and gently began dressing himself for the cold descent from their snug abode in a lonely tree to the chuckling brook some ways down the mountain in the forest. As he slipped on a handmade coat, he glanced outside the fur covered window and muttered, "That's odd. The snow is going away...It isn't spring on the mountain until seven weeks of spring in the forest have passed."
Without really turning to look Nozomi respond to her brother. "Surely you are making more fuss than is needed." Nozomi walked over to the window after slipping on her coat and peered out. Her brother was right, the freshly fallen snow from the day past was nearly gone.
Until then she hadn't really noticed that is was much drier in the treehouse and therefore warmer. "Brother, the air is very dry as well, maybe it waas shift in the winds, that brought about such rapid changer. Come lets go to the brooke quickly and get back to our nice warm treehouse for mornings meal."
Eoghan rolled his eyes at his sisters comment and he moved protectively near her as she put on her jacket. He cast one more suspicious eye at the melting snow. Too fast...It was gone too fast. He felt something strange happening. He could smell it in the air. But maybe it was just him. Perhaps it was just a change in the winds.
"Well, whatever it is, it's not normal," Eoghan muttered sullenly as he reached down for the treehouse hatch and opened it up. Stepping down lightly, he manuvered himself and his horns through the hole and made his way down the ladder. He hopped onto the ground and then moved out of the way for his sister.
Nozomi climbed down the ladder and hopped off. "No brother, this is definitely out of the ordinary." She turned in the direction of the brooke and began to head in its direction. She hadn't gone very far when she heard running water, she could here the trickle of the brooke, which just yesterday was mostly frozen. "Brother do you here that." Nozomi took off full speed for the brooke.
The brooke was mostly frozen, I know it was. I shouldn't hear it this far away I just shouldn't. Thoughts raced through her head as she headed for the brooke. Is the sound getting fainter? I know I am getting closer, what going on?
Eoghan trotted after her, fanning his wings slightly as if to protect her. When they found the brook, it was to their horr that they discovered it to be simply a thin struggling trickle.
"The river...It's drying up!" Eoghan cried.
Nozomi could not help but to ignore the river. She was staring at something that seemed to be down the river about a hundred yards and headed strait for them. It looked like a cloud of misty fog wrapped around a giant with no legs, but it was moving. She could not help but stare at the creature as it came closer, seeming taller with every step. Her skin felt drier all of the sudden, even her mouth felt drier. She stood there trembling transfixed on the creature, unable to move or speak. Finally she raised a trembling arm and pointed in the direction of the misty fog giant.
Before she could point any longer, Eoghan snatched her extended arm and spun on his heel. Pumping his legs, he flared his wings into the air and cried out with chapped lips, "RUN!"
The mist monster was coming closer and it released a hungry sizzling roar.
Nozomi began to run with her brother holding her arm pulling her along. She quickly regained her senses and flared her wings as her brother did. She licked her lips as she ran in an attempt to moisten them.
A heavy fog creeped along the ground flowing past them and slowly extending skyward. Soon the think fog cover everything and even with her great vision Nozomi could not see her hand in front of her face. She tripped over what was probably a tree root and fell to the ground. She cried out as she felt her brother lose his grip on her arm. She stumbled to her feet flappinfg her wings trying to clear some of the fog. It worked slightly, but when she turned she saw the monster was closing in on her.
She began to flap her wings harder taking of into the sky in an attempt to escape the fog and the monster. She flew up higher and higher but there was no end to the fog, she figured hopefully she was free of the tree at least and changed direction flying away from or what she hoped was away from the monster.
As soon as he felt his grip slip from his sister, the Herald cried out for her. He felt around the area, groping frantically for Nozomi. When he began feeling weak and brittle, the breath of the monster nearly upon him, Eoghan gave up looking for his sister and turned away, bolting through the dense fog. He tripped and fell often, but he raced as best as he could, fighting his way through the mist.
... A new life awaits *

Vacation - Genie Lamp at the Oasis Dr. Kitamari:
Kita-san wondering through the cave aimlessly. She had decided to go straight hoping it would lead her to the exit or entrance to the cave, but so far she had'nt had any luck. Its was dark and she couldnt see very well where she was going and she was trying to listen for water and look for light.
Kaori_luv:
Shizu and her brood, had decided to spend the weekend at the oasis. Fiction and Kiara had also come along, and Kiara was with Shizu while Fiction went to get some lunch. Shizu had packed up the troop and was heading back to the lodge when she noticed foot prints heading off away from both the lodge and the oasis. She looked at the group with a worried expression. "Guys we had better go find whoever wonder off, they could be lost." The girls nodded and the group headed after the trail of foot prints.
Shizu had a hard time pushing the double stoller through the sand but they eventually made it to the cave. She looked into the dark cave it appeared as though whoever strayed off went into the cave. "Looks like whoever it was went into the cave and without light I'm guessing. Well we had better stay together." Shizu starts to enter the cave. "Alright girls use your energy weapons for light, keep them small." The girls did as she said, then followed Shizu into the cave.
Fiction1119:
Fiction was heading back from the lodge hoping to meet Shizu and the girls on the path. She was looking at the amazing the view when she saw stroller tracks and lots of footprints heading off the path, Fiction knew that there group was the most likely culprits of the footprints so she followed them untill she got to a cave. "Since when did Shizu like to go spelunking?" Fiction said as she entered the cave. She checked her bag that had the food and a small first aid kit in it. "Glad I brought this, you never know what kind of trouble a handful of kids can get into."
Dr. Kitamari:
Kita-san felt like she was going in circles. "This is usless." She sat down on the cave floor to take a break.
Kaori_luv:
Meanwhile Shizu and her group continues through the cave they had no idea where this person could be at, so she decided the only thing they could so would be is to split up. "Girls we're not going to find this person like this. We'll have to split up. Kaori and Sora I want the two of you to stick together. Kiara and Nozomi, you two are to stick together. Remember Kiara you have to provide the light but don't use up all you energy. I'm going to keep the tots and go this way." Shizu created a thin glowing string for each team and ties them together at the end. "This string is made of low energy so it won't run out and it will lead you back to here. If you dont find anything in an hour head back."
The girls noded and they all headed of in different direction.
Nozomi walked with Kiara right beside her, she was entrigued be the ribbons of light coming from the girl's hands. She wanted to touch them, but for whatever reason she decided that wasn't a good idea. About 15 minutes had went by and they girls walked in silence. Nozomi looked to Kiara. "Maybe we should talk, if the person around here, they might here us and come toward us." Kiara noded. "Well, I'll start. Since I'm new to the family why don't we get to know each other. I'm Nozomi and I'm about winter's past. I have a twin brother and I like color. Now your turn."
Fiction1119:
"Um well. I am Kiara, Fiction's only daughter, tho I wish I wasn't. I would love a little brother or sister to play with. I like the color lilac purple, its so pretty." Kiara walked a little bit in silence then asked, "Do you think the 40 thieves used a cave like this? Do you think we will find lodes of gold and hidden treasure? Wouldn't it be cool if a jinn, genie, would just pop up and grant us each a wish? I would wish for a sibling, all the money mommy could use and want, and the largest library in the world in my backyard full of books." Kiara streached her arms as wide as she could make it to show Nozomi how big she would want the library. "What would you wish for?"
Kaori_luv:
Nozomi looked at Kiara for a long moment unsure whether she was suppose to answer all the question, at the same time trying to recall them. She quickly answered, "yes, no, yes and I do not know what I would wish for. I guess it would be to see my twin more often. Shizu seems to have everything she wants and needs. I might wish to find my soulmate or know who he is or something like that I guess." Nozomi looked at Kiara was again, "what's you favorite thing or game. Mine new favorite game is flyign tag. Sora and Kaori taught me how to play. I wonder though why I didnt play the game with my brother."

Aquarium Time!
Shizu had dropped Nozomi and Sora off at the aquarium about an hour ago. Nozomi had promised to take her younger adoptive sister to the aquarum. The 15 year really admired Nozomi and wanted to be like. They had walked around for a while now and Nozomi was feeling out of place, with her large white wings that kept getting in peoples way.
Nozomi and Sora were looking for the dolphin show when they came upon some commotion. The approached the small group to see what was up but stopped just short of the strange looking bunch. Nozomi smiled, most of them had wings like her, but none of them had antler. Sora couldnt help but to stare at the guy whom appeared to be fish like. She though he was cool looking.
Sora took Nozomi had and pulled her toward the group. "Excuse us, we are a bit lost. We heard the commotion and we were wondering if you could direct us to the dolphin show." The young teen with fairy wings waited for an answer and Nozomi blushed in embarassment at her sisters forwardness. She would have to remember to talk to her sister about approach total strange, mostly because it made her nervous. She was really use to a lot of people in one place yet.
Kilynn:
Cillian looked at the new duo that walked up. Antlers, he recognized, but the not the same kind were on one of the female's heads. He looked at the two and thought about the question. "Wha' is a Doll-fin?" he tried the word in his mouth. "Show..." he said to himself. "le's go find it." He looked around, not knowing what direction to go. He figured since he was here he could see what there was to see since he had paid for his admittance.
Myself:
Sora looked over Cillian trying to figure out what it was he had said. He accent was think, but she quickly figured out what he meant. "Um, a dolphin is a mammal that lives in the water. It's a good swimmer and rather intelligent. Oh by the way my name is Sora and this is Nozomi." Sora pointed to Nozomi who was in a bit of a daze.
Nozomi was looking around for a sign or something to let them know where the dolphin show was. She finally spotted something, a woman a bit of a ways of wearing a dolphin hat and usering people into a room. "I think thats room down there is where the dolphin show is." She turned to Cillian, "its nice to meet you. Why don't we go see if the dolphin show is down there." She pointed in the direction of the woman with the dolphin hat.
Kilynn:
As he looked in the direction of the pointed finger, he noticed a strange creature on top of the woman's head. Half expecting it to move, Cillian walked in the direction, looking behind him to see if anyone followed.
PandaLily:
Kemuri, who was quietly 'stalking' the adult herald without the feather wings of most heralds, had saw two new people to the scene. there were quite a bit of people that he hadn't met before. He tried to stay indifferent to the shadows behind the herald.
Myself:
Sora followed behind Cillian, thinking her sister was right behind her, but Nozomi was looking at one of the other heralds. He was the opposite of her, a male with black wings and black hair. She couldn't her but stare for a while, but Sora realized her sister was missing and called to her. Nozomi was brought around by her voice and hurry to catch up with her. "Sorry Sora, I got a little 'spacey' is waht you call it I guess." Sora giggled at her sister as the continued behind Cillian.
PandaLily:
Kemuri realized he had been spotted he shoved close to the shadows. his red eyes focussed on the female herald now. he watched as she continued on with Cillian and the young girl. He was suspicious about the few of them. He stayed close behind.
Myself:
Nozomi walked up to the woman in the dolphin hat with Sora and Cillian. "Excuse me miss, but is this the dolphin show." The woman smiled a weery smile at the odd bunch, "Yes, the dolphin show will begin in about 10 minutes, so you had better get some seats because it fills up fast." The woman ushed the group into the arena which was already beginning to become crowded.
PandaLily:
As the woman shoved everyone in, Kemuri was mushed into the large crowd that was escorted into the dolphin show. He kept an eye on the adult herald and the other people with him. He heard something about the dolphin show in 10 minutes as he just decided to stay in the mob and not leave anywhere.
Kaori_luv:
Nozomi manuvered her way through the crowd to the section on the side. "Hey look", she pointed to an empty section, "we could sit there, some in front and some behind." She motion for everyone to follow and headed up the stairs to take her seat. Sora followed in suit looking around at all the people, excited to see the dolphin show.

Herald Metaplot
The Mall - May 2nd
Nozomi had been in the house with her siblings for most of the week. Gaia had been so rainy and dreadful lately there wasn't much for her to do. The main thing for her to do was help with her siblings so that Shizu didn't go crazy. Shizu had decided Nozomi needed a day away from home, so upon Nozomi's request they were on there way to the mall.
Nozomi looked out the window out the car, she had a gloomy expression on her face, for she loved the sunshine, she loved the snow and the falling leaves but never was very happy when it rained. She grew bored with the scenery and turned around looking into the backseat, where her little brother sat. Her sisters were going to there aunt's house for a sleep over, which is where her mother was headed after she dropped her off at the mall. However, she had offered to take her brother along to the mall.
Nozomi now made silly faces at her brother, he laughed in responce. "We going to have a lot of fun you and me. You up for having some fun Kiyoshi." Kiyoshi nodded his little head curls bobbing up and down from the bangs that hung loosely in his face.
Nozomi turned back around as they pulled up to the mall. Shizu turned to her and handed her a bag of gold. "Here is some extra gold so you can get a few things for Kiyoshi and yourself. Have fun and be careful okay." Nozomi nodded as Shizu turned to Kiyoshi, "be good and have fun. Mommy loves you and I be back to get you later." Kiyoshi giggled and blew kisses to his mommy.
Nozomi hopped out of the car opening her very large umbrella and pulling her wings in tight so she would not get wet. She moved around to her brothers door and gently slide it open. She worked quickly to undo his carseat buckle and gently lifted him from the carseat, pulling him in close to her. She closed his door and stepped up onto the curve. She waved to Shizu and Kiyoshi did the same, then they turned and headed into the mall.
Nozomi looked down at her dress, the bottom half was all wet even just from the small walk for the car into the mall. She would have to do something about that. She was about to head for one of the nearest clothing stores when she heard a little rumble from Kiyoshi tummy.
"Sounds like someone is just a little bit hungry. Well my being wet isn't going to kill me so why dont we get something to eat first." Kiyoshi nod to his sister and wrapped his arms tightly around her neck, lying his head on her neck.
Nozomi heads off in the direction of the food court, while thinking about waht would be best for them to have for lunch. She looked around and wondered why so many people were at the mall today. She figured they all just needed to get some relief from the rain as most people were wet or soaked.
Nozomi made her way around the food court with Kiyoshi in her arms. She had decided on a salad and she knew Kiyoshi would like a fruit salad and some juice. Neither or them were adiment meat eater although both occasionally snacked on meet as the were omnivours. She headed of to the smoothie place and looked over the menu. They had plently of fresh fruits and vegetables for the salads and smoothies they sold.
Nozomi sat Kiyoshi took a spot in line and put little Kiyoshi down beside her. He quickly took Nozomi hand and held it tightly and Nozomi gave his hand a gently reassuring squeeze. They waited for just a few minutes while the workers behind the counter worked throught the order.
Nozomi dazed off looking at all the heralds that were around. She wondered if she would run into any of the heralds from the aquarium. She was brought back to reality by a voice speaking to her.
"Hello, welcome to the Smoothie Central, how may I help you?" ,came the voice of a girl from behind the counter. Nozomi came out of her daze and looked at the girl. "I'm sorry, we'll have a medium garden salad, a small apple smoothie, a small fruit salad, extra grapes and a grape juice please." After Nozomi, began to fish around for her wallet.
"I'll get that for you right away ma'am", said the girl behind the counter as she turned to get the food that had been ordered. Nozomi finally got her wallet out and and waited for the girl to finish getting the food together. The girl returned about a minute or so later and put the food on the counter. "Your total will be 100 gold please."
Nozomi counted out the gold and handed to the girl, before taking her bag and turning find a table. "Thank you", she said as she walked away from the counter and just barely heard the have a nice day responce as she made her way through the crowd, holding Kiyoshi had tightly.
She got to about the middle of the food court, and spotted an empty table off to the left. She quickly made a b-line for the table.
Bundabears:
Yuki smiled faintly as she caught sight of an empty Unfortunately, it was in the middle. Taking in a deep breath, she walked quickly towards it, trying to not look around her. Her legs felt like jelly and her mind was urging her to run back to her home. She focused on the table so vividly that she couldn't see the other girl heading for it, and ran into her.
She snapped out of her 'mood' and raised her hands to her mouth. "s-s-sorry."
Nozomi nearly dropped her food after a girl, who appeared to be very nervous bumped into her. She quickly moved Kiyoshi out off the way, and turned in time to catch the girls appology.
She looked at the girl, "its okay dont worry about it. There aren't many free tables, you were just trying to get to one. This is the last one, so I'm up fo sharing if your up for sharing."
Kiyoshi looked up to the girl whom they bumped. He smiled at her, then turned and held his hands up to Nozomi to be picked up. Nozomi picked up Kiyoshi and looked back at the girl.
The Zoo - May 16th
Bundabears:
Yuki shivered as another crowd passed her. She loved the zoo, she really did, but the crowds at it made her feel sick to her stomach. It was good practice too, her record for staying at the zoo so far was one hour before running back to her apartment. She sighed and looked around the zoo once again, before turning back to look at the boa constrictor, shivering in the rain.
Shizu walked through the zoo, with her bunch. Aiko and Kiyoshi sat side by side in a double stroller, which Kaori walked beside the stroller, and Nozomi and Sora walked behind the stroller chatting. Shizu smiled at the two while, Sora had grown again, but she was long overdue for growth, now she grew rapidly. A young adult looking about 18 years old. Shizu looked up at the signs and decided on reptiles first, and headed down the path to the reptiles. It was a short walk and the first thing the came upon was the boa constrictor up in a tree a rather massive sight.
Nozomi looked to the girl who stood behind her shivering. She wondered if the girl even noticed that the rain wasn't hitting her anymore. Nozomi looked up at the sheild her guardian had thrown up with her power to keep them from being soaked by the rain. It acted as a huge umbrella and the rain fell around them but did not touch them. Nozomi was amazed by it but Sora and Kaori had seen it before judging by the way they did not react to it.
Nozomi looked over to the girl once more, than spoke to her. "Excuse me miss, but aren't you cold." Sora looked to the girl. "Yeah you must be freezing in those wet clothes."
Main Street - May 23rd
Nozomi and Sora manage to break away from the group after lunch. They wanted to go find other there age to hang out with, well mostly Sora. Nozomi looked around at the store she passed as Sora pulled her down main street. The parade would begin soon and since Nozomi had never seen one she really wanted to know what one was. Sora had tried to explain but it all sounded so weird to Nozomi.
Sora giggled at every guy that some much as glanced at her, flirting her way through the crowd that was beginning to gather. Nozomi couldn't help but to roll her eyes. She has been watching to much television. Nozomi had barely finshed her thought when she was urgently rushed into a store by her sister. She looked around at all of the clothes on the wall. Oh boy, here we go.
Erina_Nobara:
At first glance it would seem that Pyper was alone again. But if you looked closer, you might noticed the little brown fox resting on the girl's head. The kitsu was all brown, fluffy and had small black feather wings protruding from between its shoulder blades. It also happened to be wearing glasses. A strange sight indeed. It was Eri. Pyper had stolen her friend's rainbow scarf and was now wearing it. Over her head she held a bright pink umbrella with sakura blossoms all over it. She and her companion had come to the Memorial Day Parade, despite the weather. But that didn't mean she wasn't complaining about. Eri defintely was.
Eri groaned as her tail swished around in the breeze. She was dry under the umbrella, but her love of rain was slowly disappearingl. "Whyyy Pyper whyy? I don't get it. It doesn't feel right..." And to her this was true. After all, most animals seemed deeply in tune with the weather. "At first I tried to brush it off, but it's never rained this long berfore has it?" she whined. She pawed at Pyper's pointy ears, but still didn't get a response. Apparently the girl was too focused on the giant Snoopy float that was passing by. She gave up with a sigh, wrapping her tail around her small body to keep warm. "Oh well..."
Nozomi watched the parade through the window, a gaint balloon of Johnny K. Gambino floated by. Nozomi was amazed as different floats represent different shops road by. Sora tried on several outfits and modeled them for Nozomi, but Nozomi wasn't really paying all that much attention. So she mostly modeled them for herself.
Once Sora had her fill of trying on clothes, she proceeded to drag Nozomi back out into the rain, just barely allowing time to get there umbrella situated. The moved through the small crowds looking for a good place to watch the parade, but when they weren't looking the walked right into a girl with what appeared to be a animal on her head.
"Excuse me miss, I didn't mean to walk into you like that," Sora spouted out, bowing in appology. Both Sora and Nozomi offered her a hand to help her up.
Erina_Nobara:
Pyper gasped in suprise as she was bumped into. "S'ok," she mumbled, letting them help her up. Her eyes went wide though when she saw exactly who it was who knocked her over. She'd never seen a pair quite like those two. She offered a smile, and so did the little fox that was stilling clinging to her head. "Hello. My name's Pyper. And this," she said, gesturing toward the glasses-wearing animal on her head, "is Eri."
"Hi!" Eri said, being as cheerful as possible despite the weather. "Nice to meet you." She fluttered her little wings a bit splattering a litte water into the air as Pyper straightened their umbrella.
They looked at the girl and were quite shocked when the little fox began to talk. "Um, well I Sora", said the eighteen year, "and this is my sister Nozomi." Nozomi waved still looking at the fox. "It very nice to meet the both of you." Both girls looked at the pair with the same expression the giroll had on her face. Sora shook the oddness to the side and spoke again. "Hey would you like to watch the parade with us. We were headed over there, under the tree. Less rain, less wet. What do you say?"
Erina_Nobara:
Pyper gazed up at the float, distracted momentarily. "Heyyy that's cool!" she said in awe, "Yeah they could be twins... Oh! And about my friends, sure. Let's go look for them! Eri you lead the way since you can hear'm and all," she elf added.
The little fox fluttered up and off Pyper's head. Spreading her wings further, she flew up higher to get a better view, and took off in one direction that led neary an alley. "This way!" she called, doubling back over and over again so she didn't lose the others. "That alley over there!"
Sora and Nozomi put up there umbrellas and followed Pyper and Eri off. They were headed for an alley, didn't seem like a place you would want to go, but it was most certainly out of the way of the crowds. Nozomi was amused by the little flying fox, she had never seen such an animal where she came from. This town was so different, even different from where they lived in Lerdorane.
BBQ - May 30
Nozomi had been invited to a cook-out, the invitation sadi other heralds would be there. She wondered if her brother had been invited, I mean if they fould her they had to know where he was. The others at home wanted to enjoy a quite day at home, even Sora didn't want to go out, so Sora decided to go alone.
Shizu dropped Nozomi off at the BBQ, telling her she would be by later to get her and not to go to far. Nozomi didn't mind her coddlign all though she was an adult and watched wacving as she drove off. Nozomi turned and headed for the tables out of the rain, looking for a familiar face.
There weren't to many people there yet, so she quickly spotted Pyper and Eri. "Pyper, Eri", she called excitedly scurrying past the tall herald with black wing and the woman he was with. She hadn't seen anyone since the parade and was happy to finally be making some new friends. She didn't even notice that her wing nearly hit the lady (Lily) in the face.
PandaLily:
Lily nearly squirted her juice box out as a wing almost hit her. 'whoops' she said softly as Kemuri caught her back from falling. "careful." Kemuri said to Lily as he nearly squirted his juice box all over himself with Lily's 'whoops' He loked up to see the girl who was at the aquarium with that 'Cillian' guy. He said nothing as he saw that this girl was running towards her friends.
Lily got back on her feet with the juice box in her hand. "you don't need to worry about me!" She said with a giggle. She hadn't realized that it was another herald's wings that almost hit her. she thought it was her imagination.
Nozomi felt something wet on her wings. What was that? She turned and saw what appeared to be a woman nearly falling over and be a caught be ... the herald from the aquarium. It looked like it was her fault the woman had took a tumble, for she was the one with the juice box. She turned and headed back to the pair. "I'm so sorry." Nozomi bowed to them, she didnt really know what happened, but best to appologize anyway. "I really did not mean to, I was not looking where I was going."
