Th point of the new RPcould be to focus less on Jedi/Sith and ore on regular characters wth irregular traits. I love that idea. Wait, that was the point XD

All very good ideas, but I fear that here on gaia we'll reach nothing with it, nothing more then we do now.
The main reason the old, one topic based RP was succesfull was because we had active members, no real story but were going somewhere, and there was some interaction other then only star wars things between the members...
And, everyone could keep up with it.
Sometimes there were 50 new pages in the morning, and activity keeps people active.
Unfortunatly, as time passed, the balance between (simple) rp and chatting hung over to the chatting with most, to RP for others, and with that balance gone, well, we know what happened.
The same problem arises here. We go for a good storyline, original with many things to do. Problem is, it is not what 99% of the gaia people want. They want jedi versus sith, they want instant lightsabers. They don't want systems with points that the mods would spend ages in to keep up. They don't want another job like a freighter pilot or a droid salesman. They don't want a vibroknife or cricket blaster...
I love some ideas posted here, I really do. But you're not gonna reach more then 20 folks with it, I fear...

You guys should really get to looking at the character Info people put up in the application forum, because that is what leads people out of the thread. If nobody checks their application they would get tired of waiting and leave.

I like Seph's idea and Armageddon's idea with the the points and the mission thing. The points idea is a really good way to get people to be a bit more active around the guild. Although it may be a bit complicated.
This is just something i was thinking: People keep talking about active members, well i don't think it is so much that people arent active as much as it is people living on othersides of the earth and can't every get on while lot of other people are on. Thats just a thought though.

If nobody checks their application they would get tired of waiting and leave. why would we check apps if hardly anyone fills it in correctly? And mosr are not slightly off, but completely neutral

I dont know how the rest of you feel about this guild but i love it and feel out of all the guilds ever made for Sw this one has been the most succesful, and thats coming from someone whos ben on gaia going on 4 years now. The storyline you have made is unique and very interesting. I guarantee the point system will work and be great. I will Head the whole point system if i have to, to see it go through. I will spend at least 1 hour a day making this Roleplay the best damn RP Gaia has ever ******** seen. I guarntee within a month your member count and activity will skyrocket. Youve got 3 pages of people wanting to roleplay, I will sit down with each one that needs tweaking and Pm the person and walk them through till we have the app to the standards were looking for. We need 5 dedicated people who can spend an hour a day together doing the following:
1.Creat a story beggining to end. add in twists (the missions or cut offs for points)
2. Review ALL apps, (instead of flaming or complaining about apps being wrong, sit down with each individual and go through it, teach them how to be literate and make a good character they can be proud about)
3.Design a system to keep the Rpers focused in the Rp, wether you use a mission based progression, incorp NPCS to keep it moving etc.
4. Advertise the Rp coming up Re contact all members who showed interest in rping now and before in the old rp. More Members- More Activity.
5.Designate "Guardians" for the Rp to properly watch over and efficently discipline and direct and abusing or illertate players.
I want to see the rp succeed, that makes 1 prson you need 4 more people and we can do this folks.

i agree about the points system and i would like to be able to go on missions i would take any position someone would give me if they make a me a Jedi as long as i can Rp and go on missions and move up in rank then good if im made a regular soldier as long as i can again go on missions and move up or down in ranks that would be good too and we need to have team leaders for said missions like highest ranking officer going on the mission should be mission leader oh and yes im new but i also think it would be cool to you know have different size missions ranging from scouting to seizing a base and if your seizing a base you need more then a few guys you would at least need about 10 or 4 commando elites

I just fine punctuation makes things easier to read. yup i know. just i find it easier and faster to type without punctuation and im usually in two or three Rp's at the same time.

Okay, fine. I guess I'll provoke some more suggestions then.
Factions. Just the two? Republic and Imperials (Jedi/Sith/Dark Jedi are not being counted here). Maybe a third? Some form of criminal faction? If so, who/what? Free-for-all faction making? Allow people to form their own factions and just have an insane number of battles with more NPC troops then there are peole in the entire galaxy?
This also leads onto planets. One planet? Select few? If so, what ones? Allow people to make planet threads as they see fit? Allow people to create their own planets?

A thought for a storyline (it's a bit rocky, but I think it has the basics sweatdrop ):
Brief History:
A wealthy, almost royal family holds a strong, burning hatred for Force Users. Jedi, Sith, Rogue; it didn't matter. For many generations, they have dedicated everything into destroying them. To carry out their plan, they kidnapped and cloned Jedi children. Through some genetic modification and a few droid parts, the clones are totally obedient to their creators; they never refuse an order, even if it was to destroy themselves. These clones are raised and trained as perfect assassins. On occasion, an army of these clones are sent to a location believed to house Force users and destroy it.
How it can work into an RP:
¤ Keep a Jedi and a Sith temple/planet. Allow members this bit of freedom to role play as they will.
¤ There can be a planet/station where this clone army is based.. (more on that later..)
¤ There can be random battles started by the cloned Jedi.
¤ To Jedi/Sith/Dark Jedi: it is unknown who is attacking them and why. The Jedi could think the Sith/Dark Jedi are attacking them, and vise versa.
¤ Missions could be created in attempts to find out.
¤ If you want, we could even have the clones attack the New Republic/Empire. And because the New Republic/Empire just see the clones as Force users attacking them, distrust and anger can distance Jedi/Sith from the New Republic/Empire.
Suggestion:
Members who believe they can handle another character can apply to "adopt" one of the clones and role play as that clone (this does NOT mean you have to create another Gaian account just to RP as that clone). This can be a way for them to be "the ultimate Jedi", for these clones are skilled fighters. And if they should RP their clone dying, then do not fret. Simply "adopt" another, but no more than one clone at a time. And please, do not fight your own original character. Interact with someone. (there are a few more thought/rules concerning the clones, but that will come later...)

Humiliation, for one thing. He does not see these clones as Force users; only a tool to destroy them. He treats animals and even weapons with more respect. For another thing, he believes that the only way to destroy them is to use their own powers against them..
