Entry:
Lalauthe stood still as a statue, eyes wide like that of a deer in the headlights. In the deepest of forests, on the darkest and cloudiest of nights, her mind was surely playing tricks on her. A bead of sweat trickled down her cheek and she gulped quietly, trying to keep her breathing quiet. Again, she heard it. A heavy, rasping breath was drawn in, and let out with a snigger. She swung round, as low to the ground as she could get, her ears flat to her head and her wings pulled in so tightly they hurt. Her hair stuck to her forehead and eyes as she shook and trembled. She could see nothing, not evern her own paws beneath her. The sounds swirled around her, deep breathing like that she had heard in her nightmares. She took a tentative step backwards, but stopped dead when a screech filled the air.
"AAAHH!" Lalauthe cried out, a tear escaping as something grabbed her back, claws digging in deep. She closed her eyes a tightly as she could, tears streaming down her face. "Leave me ALONE! GO AWAY!" She cried out hysterically. Her anguish was met by jeers and laughter from the darkness, the claws digging deeper into her back. The warmth of blood trickled down between her wings as the claws suddenly ripped free. Lalauthe got up and ran. She ran hard and fast, her claws digging deep into the earth as she pushed herself hard and fast through the forest, with only her senses to guide her. She had to get away from them, before fear consumed her and she was left paralysed. She, who was so used to mocking and jeering at others, was now reduced to tears and hysteria, running away from something she couldn't even see.
But she had heard those voices before. They had haunted her while she slept, caused her to wake up screaming, sticky with sweat. Her heart pounded loudly in her ears as she ran harder and fast, punctuated by the sound of trees whipping past her. She gasped as she tripped, propelling her forward and over a ledge. Her voice seemed to have been stolen as she fell, weightlessly and soundlessly. She hit the murky water with a loud and painful splash, the cold taking her breath away. She closed her eyes as everything went dark.
"Someone... please save...me... "
And so, alone lay this green and gold Undulcan, wet and shivering, passed out on the bank of the lake. Mud stick to her fur, and her chest heaved with every breath her unconcious body drew in. She was alone, but at least on this moonlit beach, she was safe...
