biggrin New housing and a dog? Sounds like that worked out. Know what kind you want to get?
I know this is off topic, but since you brought it up...how do you like on-post housing? ninja I've always wanted a Border Collie or a Golden Retriever. So, one of those. lol
When we first moved here, we lived off base. It wasn't pleasent. BAH was only enough to cover rent. Which was $400 for a one bedroom, one bathroom place. I never felt safe and our landlord was a butthead. He only came once to fix our sink after I called a million times. The landlord never came out again to fix anything.
After moving on base, a lot changed. We were no longer stressed out because we had less bills and more money to spend for fun. I feel safer, because I know if there is a problem, the military police will be here in a snap (small base). We do not worry about electrical bill, water bill, trash disposal bills or anything like that. We've been real lucky with neighbors. Both our neighbors have really young children and are very quiet.
I love living on base, but everyone is different.
