"Well... If y'don' li'... doin' th'labor... I got other t'ings too. Li'... security fer instance." He offered, crawling towards the sulking simian to flop in the water beside his rock. There's some... disagreeable people... ou' there in these parts. Help... keep th'place safe from..." He paused a moment, thinking of the possibilities, but settled for one that might get his interest, "Vandalism an'... th'like."

Steadying himself mentally after watching Billy crawl in that matter, he carefully considered his suggestion, listening quite raptly like a child listening to a story.
It wasn't that he didn't enjoy doing the labour, because heaven knows the hard work did his muscles, and his waistline, some good. But...he was just so scared of a repeat incident. He hadn't known about the few months between his first change and his second, so when would the next one be? It could be tomorrow for all he knew, and it could be a brand new person he hurt.
He lifted an expansive hand to his mouth and chewed idly on his thumbnail in thought, looking more like he was sucking his thumb.
"Security? I-I guess I could do that...maybe do some work too, since Gaius did kinda ask...who have you got to keep away?" he asked, wondering if it would put him in danger.

"Well, can't say... fer sure," The octopus man mused, "Bu' there's always... someone, eh? Y'jes'... stand by when yer able... make sure no one trespasses... musses wit' nothin'. An' anythin' else me lad Gaius asks ye," His beaked grin widened. "Once... th't'ings open, o'course... y'coul' help me keep'... thems wha' aint welcome... out. Li' a bouncer. Sound... appealin'?"

Oz chuckled greatly at the thought of being a bouncer.
"Hah, I was always told I'd make a great bouncer. Not like anyone could sneak past me, could they?" he said, genuinely starting to consider the job.
He scratched his chin in thought, looking at Billy in a new light. Like a second wave of acceptance, he could start to see through Billy's octopus-ness and see the man inside. He was still just as slimy, but a person none-the-less.
"Alright, you've just got a new bouncer," he said, sounding quite pleased and a little rejuvenated in esteem.

The octopus positively beamed, his skin blossoming and splotching with a sort of orangish red. "Brillian'! Wonderful!" His mouth twisted into a wide open smile, a tentacle rising and wriggling to offer to shake to close the deal, "I'll make sure.... it's worth yer'... while, lad, believe you me! An' I go'... a few jobs fer ye'... b'fer hand too. Jes'.... pay attention to... them fliers... aboo' construction meets... an' sech, alrigh'?"

If the sudden swirls of colour were anything to go by, Oz at least got a sort of good vibe from Billy, and admittedly, it felt nice to actually be wanted for something. True, it was for the same reason Gaius had hired him for construction work - he was built like a brick s**t-house.
But it was something that made Oz a commodity, at least for now. He shook Billy's hand reluctantly, trying to fight back a sick feeling behind a taut smile.
"O-okay...will do..." he said through that awkward grimace.
