Thursday my brother made mac and chesse (SO GOOD!!) and my mom came over (I live with dad and uncle) and had cake and gifts.
The girl I'm seeing took me out to The Wine Cellar (very few of my RL friends know where she took me cause I'm embarassed by how much she spent!) and then we went out clubbing with friends.
Yesterday I went to a dinner party/carnaval (Quebacois version) at a friend's place for turducken (again SO GOOD!!) and festivities.
Tomorrow is the office co-celebration (there are 4 people with January birthdays!).

EternalHearts Yesterday I went to a dinner party/carnaval (Quebacois version) at a friend's place for turducken (again SO GOOD!!) and festivities. Wow, I hadn't heard of Turducken! Three birds in one!! rofl It all sounds good and fun! Jason celebrated a birthday earlier this month, but we didn't do much other than pick out a chocolate cake for after dinner, and rushed to eat it before going to the airport to fly from Malaysia to Australia! And we currently don't have enough to buy his birthday present (a Nintendo Wii) but we will sometime! Have fun at the work party today!

ah! there's a similar roast that's available for people with a disposal budget over here.
often these 3 bird roasts comprise of at least one 'game' bird. most are a goose, stuffed with a chicken stuffed with a pheasant.
or a chicken stuffed with a pheasant stuffed with a quail.
each layer packed with a fancy stuffing too, often containing apricots and orange.
Jessi sounds like you had a great celebration! and it's good to hear that you're seeing a new girl too 3nodding

Thanks about the girl...it's difficult, but she's really sweet and I like her a lot.

Awww I regret that I wasn't able to enjoy the food in Australia more due to getting 4 days of food poisoning our first day there! (And oddly, I did fine on the Malaysian food!) Jason got it too, and we think it was either the vermicelli noodles at the asian food court in chinatown, or the cups of fountain drinks, both of which we had and no one else did.
I didn't get to try kangaroo, although Jenni did while she was in Sydney. She says it was a little dry. And the gourmet food at the wedding banquet would have been much more enjoyable if I could eat more of it, but eating small amounts gave me stomach cramps. There were nice steaks and salmons and a really nice looking dessert that I can't remember much about now..
I like hearing about these 3-bird combos! I really, really liked the quail we had at a Vietnamese restaurant.
