Intombi grinned and quickly took up the position as follower, plodding along with her head at Noyana's shoulder. She felt quite lucky at having found a playmate for the day, and quickly wondered if she'd be able to find the sunny cub again. It'd be a shame if she couldn't; with Mama almost always off hunting and her brother not always interested in play, a friend would be nice to have around. The Pridelands question, however, threw her off a bit. What in the savannah were 'Pridelands'? Scanning her memory banks for anything that sounded remotely related, the brown cub was able to come up with only one thing. Mama had said something about prides once upon a time, and how she should stay away from them for safety. They had gaurds, according to Mama, and they didn't always like outsiders. "Dunno? I don't think so... Mama, my brother and me aren't in a pride, if that's what you mean. We're rouges. Are you from the Pridelands?"

"Yup!" Noyana said proudly, sticking out her ches as she walked. "I'm a Pridelander, and always will be!" Noyana loved her home, and didn't plan on ever leaving.
The information was exactly what Noyana wanted to know. In her mind right now, the rest of the world was a wasteland and the Pridelands were the only place with grass and trees and food and water. She had to know if this was the truth or not... She certainly hoped not.
"Do you have food and grass in the roguelands?" Noyana asked, not fully understanding what the term "the roguelands" meant, but she knew it was for the lands beyond the borders.

Intombi cocked her head a little, shocked that her new playmate was a member of a pride. From the image she had been getting, they were a bit... different. This yellow cub didn't seem any different from herself, save for the coat color. "You are? Wow, cool! What's it like in the Pridelands?" She gave an excited skip, but quickly normaled her strut. If there were lots of lions there to play with, she might talk to Mama about moving there when she went back to the den that night. Having cubs all around must be nice.
The question was a bit shocking, she had to admit. Attempting to not looked all that amazed, she nodded vigorously. "Of course we do! I eat all the time. Although, sometimes the grass stops and there's more dirt..." She glared at the ground for a moment, thinking about it more. "We have trees, too, and water."

Noyana gave a sigh of relief. She would be sad if the world beyond the borders of the Pridelands was all a vast wasteland. She was certainly happy that her friend didn't live in such a place...
"It's really cool. Huge! I haven't even seen everything there is to see there! And everybody's really nice. If you pounce someone while they're sleeping, they don't yell, but they chuckle!" Noyana said, recalling her run-in with Amaterasu, the maned wolf. She cut off her thoughts as they got close to the watering hole. "The water's over that hill up there," Noyana said, gesturing to where they were headed.

"Really?" She opened her eyes wide, liking the idea of this Pridelands place. Maybe she'd visit when she was older? No harm ever came from a visit, after all, and she could just say she was visiting Noyana. Most certianly they'd still be friends as they got older, most certainly. She quickly lost the train of thought, however, at the mention of the watering hole being so close. "Oh, yay!" She picked up her pace from that slow cub-like trot to a sort of sloppy sprint. Her legs flew out in several directions, as she had yet to perfect the graceful lioness lope. With the water in sight, she giggled a little, and practically tripped her way down the hill, only stopping when she was on the bank. She through her head back over her shoulder, waiting for Noyana to come crashing down after her.

Noyana came booming down the hillside after her friend, almost out of control. She decided not to stop at the bottom of the water hole, but to take the momentum and jump in. She did a clumsy - but fun- bellyflop into the hole. It was surprisingly vacant today, only about half of the animals here.
She looked back to shore to wait for Intombi. "Water's great!" She called with a smile.

Seeing the ball of yellow fur comming crashing down the slope, Intombi quickly moved to teh side to avoid collision. The flop into the water would most vertainly disturb some of the animals already about the watering hole, but the cub really didn't care. Se was, however, amazed at the sheer number of creatures gathered here. The few watering holes she knew of only had a few antelope or such around taking a drink, with your occasional other rogue lion. Such thinking was for later, however. Now, it was time to swim.
Diving in after her pal, Intombi splashed about just as much water as Noyana did, with just aslittle grace. It seemed both of the cubs had a bit to learn as they grew about subtleness. For now, though, their cubly manner would do just fine. Giggling fitfully, the brown cub splayed her paws to paddle around. "This is a nice watering hole... I've never been here before."

"Truth be told, I only found it a few days ago," Noyana told her friend, floating on her back through the water. When she had come a few days ago, she had been alone, and it had been boring! She had swum some laps then left, but now she had a friend with her! What would they do? They could play Marco-Polo, or pretend to be fish. Maybe water tag... She pondered the possibilities while floating on her back.

Paddling around Noyana in a circle for a few moments, Intombi pondered the many possibilities as well. Tag was of course the obvious option, as it was the classic cub's game. It could be played in an enviroment, dry or wet, and seemed to be universal between most species. With a sly look to both sides, the brown cub moved in for the kill; or the tap, rather. With a large splash, she flung out her paw, thwaping her friend on the shoulder with a loud slosh. "Tag!" As fast as the water would permit, she turned around and waded away sloppily, out towards the center of the watering hole. Her shrill giggles could most deffinatley be heard for quite a way aways from the hole, but her mind wasn't on the audiance.

Noyana slid from her belly-up position to swim after her friend. She was determined to win this round, and slashed through the water as quick as she could. It's resistance propelled her towards Intombi, but she couldn't get close enough to extend her paw and tag her. However, she managed to push herself out of the water enough to tag Intombi before her head went underwater from the descent. She managed to tag the brown cub's flank, and then swim belly-up (her favorite swimming position; she was faster on her back) away from her friend, laughing all the while.

As the water grew deeper, the brown cub found herself unable to maintain a proper speed. Her mad dash through the water slowed to a sluggish paddle, and she was quickly caught. The light swat was followed by a splash as her yellow playmate fell through the water and flipped onto her back. She wasn't sure how exactly Noyana had made this flip, as it seemed entirely unnatural. At least, unnatural to her. It was so odd, in fact, that she absolutely HAD to try it out. Attempting to push off the muddy dirt with her hind legs, she did a sort of back flip into the water ... and crashed through the surface. In a sputtering mess of wet brown and pink, she popped back up with a slight giggle. "How did you do that? It's so cool!"

Noyana giggled at her friend's comment. She had grown so accustomed to going from other swimming positions to her back that she had mastered the move completely. "It's pretty easy," she said, treading water to explain. "But I know what you did wrong. You have to stay mostly under the water to do it. You start anywhere, then turn your head so much that the rest of your body follows it. And tuck your paws in- there's less water resistance that way. See?" She demonstrated her move, craning her head around as if she was going to look behind her, then allowing her spine to turn from the motion, bringing the rest of her body around to the back position. She waited for her friend to master the move too. It was useful in games like this, after all.

Intombi nodded, sticking her tongue slightly out of her mouth. She glared at the water, concentrating hard as her body positioned itself in the way Noyana had explained. She crowched a little, wiggling her bottom half to prepare for lift off. Turning her head around, she was surprised to find that her body flopped right onto the water... and then sunk under. She came back up sputtering again, looking rather put out. "Well, it was worth a try?" She giggled and shrugged, paddling towards the shallower section of the watering hole as to be able to stand. "I think I should be running home sometime soon... Mama will be done with her hunt soon and might get angry if I'm too far from the den." She flashed an apologetic grin.

Noyana followed her friend to shallower water. "I understand," she said, though she wished Intombi didn't have to go. "You'll come back around, won't you?" she asked. Intombi was the closest friend she had made yet.
"About the flip thing," she started, "That's how I was at first. If you really want to get it down good, it'll take a lot of work," she said with a giggle. "I guess I'll see you later then, Intombi! I hope to see you again!" She said, heading slowly back home.

Intombi nodded enthusastically. "Sure thing. I'll be seeing you really soon!" She smiled widely, taking a few more steps in the direction of the roguelands. Noyana was most deffinatley the closest friend she had made, possibley better than her brother. At first, the siblings had been close, but now they were sort of drifting apart. With playmates like Noyana, though, life was good. She certainly didn't want something like that to end. "I'll keep working on the flip thing at the watering hole near Mama's den. Seeya around, Noyana!" She smiled larger this time, and quickly turned around to run away, back home to a fresh meal and a good sleep.
((ooc :3 we deffinatley need another intombi/noyana RP sometime. <33))
