Buffynick
A little bouncing boy wobbled over to Seven and Shadow's doorstep. Dropping off a large box, he giggled and walked off. Turning as he reached the end of the path leading to the house, he waved.

Inside the box was a little present for Seven with a note.

Note
Dear Seven and Shadow,

**********Bowen and I wanted to say hello. We went out shopping and picked out a special gift for each of the legends. I hope you both enjoy the toy!

Journal Entry 7-30-04

What a week! With Actinium, Platinum, and Taima in the house, you can imagine my first thoughts upon seeing Seven on my doorstep...

Pure.. Terror...

Ok, so I jumped to conclusions about the little boy, but I thought I had a full house already! Now I have even MORE to deal with. I'm still glad to have that stressball that was gifted to me.. It really helps. Plus juggling work, I feel like I never get any sleep!

Seven, though, has been a total angel since he's arrived. He's always smiling, and VERY inquisitive about the world around him, and I can already see his creativity shining. His wings are still too small to use, but he flaps them around anyways, especially when he's chasing his big sister around.

Taima, of course, hates the little guy, just like most everyone else.. She does seem to tolerate Yani and Aadil though.. Rei too since she provided her with a little gift.

Seven, though, will probably like everyone.. He already loves just about everything.

Ok.. so Seven's not all bad. I guess having another child around won't be so hard.

--

Buffy dropped of a lovely gift from herself and Bowen for Seven! He tried to take it apart the moment he recieved it, so I think I'll keep it out of reach for a little while. At least till he learns not to destroy the thing.

Journal Entry 8-7-04

Ok, I think this journal entry is in DIRE need of being posted.

Seven almost blew up the house! I turned my back for five seconds because Taima was having a tantrum and Seven started taking apart the stove and rebuilding it into god knows what.

By the time I turned my attention back to Seven and realized what he was doing it was almost too late.. well.. it was too late for the stove anyways!

I grabbed him, and as soon as I did there was a mini exploasion that engulfed the stove!

Seven and I are fine, seven got a small cut on his cheek from flying stove debris, but is otherwise ok. I had to put a bandage on his cheek, and he seems to like it... well.. yeah ok, he likes everything.

Now I'll have to watch him more closely, especially when I get the new stove.

Journal Entry 8-18-04

Shadow rushed around the house gathering up things into her backpack to be sure Seven and Taima would be ok when she went out with them. She really wished she would have called a baby sitter, but they wouldn't cause TOO much trouble... would they?

Shadow smiled as she finally seemed to get everything together and wandered into Seven's room to fetch him.

Seven was sitting on the floor in a fit of jubilance as his little hands clutched his very first successful creation out of random household objects. He had managed to create a little bug like flying creature out of metal and junk he had found around the house! The bug buzzed and lit up in various places, but was still poorly constructed being Seven's first creation.

As soon as Shadow entered the insectoid robot buzzed, looked at her and then flew into the wall for no reason, blowing itself to smitherines and setting the wall on fire. Shadow quickly ran over to put the fire out, leaving only a small singed spot on the wall.

Shadow frowned and looked at Seven, expecting him to be devestated about the loss of his machine, but he was happily humming along, picking up the burnt and broken peices and he would try again... Persistant little guy...

Without much further thought, Shadow scooped him up and carried him out the door for a day of fun and adventure at Shadow's 21st Birthday!

I've been gone so long I almost forget what it's like to be home. Everything in the house is covered in cobwebs, and despite this, Seven has already snuggled up in his old bed and fallen asleep. I'll have to bathe him in the morning after I get the house cleaned up. He's got little spider webs in his hair and dust clinging to his chain. His wings, ironically, seem to be the only thing clean on him, but then again, they always are, no matter how dirty he gets.

The mendels are glad to be home as well, and have gotten back to their usual routine. Plat hiding out, surveiling the family, while Actinium reads and studies and tries to create a better world for the house.

Nothing ever seems to effect Seven. Be it explosions, yelling, or anything else, he never lets anything get him down, and he's SO so smart. He's always trying to learn about everything, and figure out what makes it tick and try to come up with new ways of dealing with it. I sometimes wonder if he's smarter than I am! And he's creative too. I'll have to post some of his finger paintings he did when he found out that engine grease can be used to make pictures. Heh. Anyways, I've got a lot of work to do for now, I'm just glad to be home.

Orphne
A young woman sidles down the walkway with a light paper parcel in hand, a neat crimson, satin ribbon fastened about the exterior. Waya clings to her shirt hem as the pair stroll up to the front door and set the parcel down.

The little wolf-boy sifts through a pouch at his side and pulls out a small piece of parchment, tucks it under the knot in the ribbon, and smiles up at Orphne. He leans forward as the woman backs away slowly, and he stabs the doorbell with a quick jab of his finger, then dodges out of the way and runs down the walk to catch up with his mother.

The two kiss the house good-bye and race eachother cheerily down the street to the next home.

Inside the note they

Happy Holidays to Shadow and Seven!

We did a little shopping after Thanksgiving and thought we'd pick out something special for each of the families this year. We wish you a jolly Christmas, a happy Hannukah, a merry Kwanzaa, and good tidings during the holiday season. Enjoy!

Much love,

At the headquarters you notice a large pile of gift boxes... each box has been tagged with each of the legends.

It seems that Raven has been out and about and has discovered something wonderful. He writes in a letter attached to each gift:

i present to you a gift
something to bring you new years lift

each is different and unique
which can cause change that you seek

these are gifts you must use with care
because reversal is none awares

-raven

It seems that this gift is for you and your legend:

Faevan
"Go on." Faevan parked her car by the curb, checking the address again. "This is it."

Prana nodded her head, getting out of the car and carefully carrying a small cardboard box with little holes in it. A muffled "ribbit" drifted out of one of the holes, and she left it gently on the doorstep with a smile, turning back to the car. On top of the box, she left a note. It fluttered in the breeze as the Legend and her Guardian drove away into the afternoon.

Note for Seven

Hi Seven,
I caught these yesterday when I was out with my Mom, and thought you might like to have one. Please take good care of him.

Journal Entry 2-15-05

It seems I've been slacking in my journal entries, but you do have to realize a lot has been going on in my life the past several months. I was away at the dig site for god know's how long, and It was even more difficult to be there with two children and two panicky Mendels.

Actinium actually wasn't so bad, he seemed pretty interested in what I was doing and found the relics to be fascinating. On in particular that reminded him of himself, with strange protrusions on it's back and the peaceful, contented expression on it's face.

Sadly though, the other half of the Relic was missing, which, I can honestly say, was the most interesting thing we found on the escavation.

Every relic up to this point has been a pair, but this one was solo. Like it had been broken apart and the pieces seperated. There has been no trace of the other side, but it is still quite a mystery as to why there is only one.

Enough about that though, Seven's playing in the other room and I must, I suppose, update my story about what's been going on in his life.

He too was quite entertained during the entire trip. He spent the days dirtying himself up and finding little rocks and broken artifacts and bringing them to me. I collected them into a pile and thanked him accordingly, till he started taking coins from the curator's truck. He just wanted to keep finding things, even if they weren't in the temple.

It was a little unorthadox that I actually brought him there with me to the delicate dig site, but I'm SO glad everything worked out... mostly. There was one incident with an elevated platform that I wont discuss... Let's just say it took several days to clear out the rubble and seven had to be kept close at all times after the fact.

Granted, with HIM I should keep him close at all times, but I can get easily distracted at times.

Now where was I...

The trip wasn't all that exciting, so I guess I'll just skip to the recent news since we've been home.

--

The house sitter gave us several gifts that were left for us while we were away, including a small gift box from the HQ which Seven just had to tear open right away. There was also a beautiful orange lantern, and a small red frog.

...

Sadly, not much is left of the little red frog. I wont get into details about this either, but let's just say I won't be letting Seven sift through my old science books till he's a bit older. Poor thing..

He did however learn a very good lesson about life and death because of it. When his little friend stopped moving, I had to comfort him and tell him about what happens when people, or pets die. He was sad, but he also accepted it, and strangly enough, he felt impelled to honor the little red frog.

He had me make some strange little cupcakes and turn the lights down while we played some of his music.

After he went to sleep I gave the tiny amphibian a proper burial.

--

There was quite a stir a few nights ago, I brought Seven to the HQ for a little reunion visit, perhaps meet some new legends or find a friend or two. Somehow, though, he managed to lose his goggles. I'm not sure if he lost them at the HQ or at home, but I STILL haven't heard the end of it.

They were precious to him, even though they didn't fit properly and often just fell down around his neck. The little red head hasn't stopped moping around about them. Sure he's still happy, but you can tell in his eyes that he's hurting.

I offered him a replacement pair, but he just smiled and took it apart, leaving it on the floor in an unrecognizable pile when he was done.. And whenever I bring him something new to study, he seems to examine it for a short time and just get bored easily.

I HAVE to find his goggles, one way or another, the little guy's just traumatized from it. Those baby blues of his are just wide as saucers, and he hasn't built anything since they've been gone.

Maybe they're like a security blanket or something...

He hasn't managed to sleep well either, even with Beathoven and Mozart. Every fifteen minutes he wakes up crying and saying, 'Goggooos!' I just hope I can bring an end to these sleepless nights soon.

Journal Entry 2-23-05

Just returned from Xaria's place, wasn't the most fun I've ever had but it was interesting. Seven was pretty quiet the whole time, but, as you can imagine, I payed for that later.

Yesterday Seven was so full of energy I couldn't keep him down, one minute he was building a small... robot looking.. thing... the next he was painting a rather poorly done version of the last supper across the side of the house in crayon. Lucky for me the siding didn't allow the crayon to stick very well, but it was still a pain to get off.

After that he managed to sneak the toaster out of the kitchen and completely dismantle it! I don't know how much more I can take of this, because later that same night he stole the blender. Luckily I caught him before he took the motor apart. I just had to peice it together in the morning.

Long story short, his curiousity is continuing to boil inside him and he's learning and discovering new and unusual was to create havoc in the apartment. I don't know how much longer I can keep this house together!..

--

Shadow scrambled away from her journal and down the hall as she heard another explosion, the whole apartment quickly filled with dense, black smoke.

Shadow's eyes began to water as a tiny streak of blue and silver barely missed her, leaving a small, razor thin cut on her cheek at the sound of another explosion.

"SEVEN!" She cried desperately, choking as she finally fell to her knees. It was hard to breathe with so much smoke in the air, she had to find a window and fast.

Blindly, she felt her way across the floor until she bumped into something small and warm and.. not moving. She took hold of whatever it was and continued across the floor to the balcony, quickly sliding the door open.

The smoke quickly swept out the window, giving Shadow a bit of air as she leaned against the balcony railing and finally opened her still stinging eyes.

In her lap was Seven, laying motionless and covered in black soot. "Seven!" She cried, her voice cracking as she desperately tried to wake the boy. Carefully, she turned him over to see his face, which was also covered in black soot.

"Seven, oh my god, Seven!.." Shadow was just about to panic, when the little boy's eyes opened and he coughed.

"Shawaoh.." He said quietly, blinking his eyes several times as he brushed the soot away from them, leaving two little smears around his eyes.

Shadow nearly cried with joy that the boy was still alive and... seemingly well. She brushed him off a little more, though the boy still remained covered in black soot.

Seven wrinkled his nose, his eyes still stung from the explosion but.. He quickly remembered why the explosion happened and squeezed out of Shadow's grasp, into the Apartment.

"Seven!?" Shadow groaned as the little boy ran back inside, luckily most of the smoke had dissapated by then. Just as she got up, however, Seven came running back outside with a huge grin on his face and a mass of strange metal in his hands.

"Wook, wook!" He bounced, holding the contraption up to Shadow.

Shadow looked confused and took the hunk of metal into her hands. It was an odd contraption. Almost like a helicopter and yet not at the same time. It had a few wires sticking out of it, and some strange peices of metal attatched in weird places... She was actually less curious about the machine as she was about how such a small boy could build it.

The machine twitched once as Shadow's finger upturned what looked like a switch of some kind. She pushed it away from her a bit as it started to shake and then the small machine began to pump slightly extending and contracting the wing type surfaces.

Finally, it took flight. Shadow watched for a few moments in awe before the machine fell to the ground, dead, one of the wings shattering off.

Seven bent down to the contraption with a smile, proud that it had worked for the few moments it did, and began scooping up the broken pieces.

A look of confusion crossed Shadow's face, the moment the machine fell she just knew she'd be in for a fit from Seven, but he seemed... happy?

Her eyes lifted away from the boy and into the house. A heavy groan emitted from her lips as she saw the destruction that was left inside. At least nothing was set on fire, but the entire back end of the apartment was covered in the same black soot Seven was. This was going to be a long week.

Test 1 - Sports and Seven

As of late I've noticed Seven being... well... a little restless. SO I decided, instead of just letting him choose his own activities, I would do the proper thing and designate some activities for him.. (and also find out more about him).

Even just being a child I knew Seven had to have interests, I mean.. He's doing stuff ALL the time; exploring, building (poorly), drawing, etc. It was about time to get him into some other, new, exciting activities.

First on the list, I decided to pick up some sports tickets and take Seven to see a few games. All little boys love sports after all!... don't they?

--

I took Seven to see the local team play. It was midseason so it wasn't really an important game, but there were still plenty of spectators, enough to make me wish I'd brought earplugs.

Seven was curious at first, probably wondering why there were so many people here and why they were all staring down at the court where the players were.

I bought him a large foam finger, which was... in retrospect... a bad idea. He tore little pieces off it hastily and threw it at anyone close by that started screaming loudly... which was basically everyone close by till he ran out of foam finger. It was pretty clear from the start that he wasn't much into the crowd aspect.

I propped him up on my shoulders in hopes of getting him to see the game better, but all he did then was pull on my hair.

I tried taking him down closer to the game but he only seemed to get more frustrated and annoyed, and eventually confused as to why people were so fascinated with watching several grown men throwing a ball around and trying to get it in a hoop so the loud buzzer overhead would go off.

Basketball wasn't Seven's thing.

---

Next on the list! Football!

As you can imagine, Seven enjoyed football just about as much as he liked basketball. Another mess and combination of fits and silent annoyance.

Sports aren't really in the boys list of interests. All he does is manage to get extremely fussy and annoying to everyone around him. Suprizingly enough, he managed to bother most of the people around us in the stadium, even with all the avid screaming for the home team.

Halfway through the game I decided that was enough and I brought Seven home. No need to further his annoyance. I'd rather have him destroying the kitchen then getting himself so upset.

Test 2 - Painting and Seven

Since our last outing didn't really go as well as I had hoped I decided Seven would probably much rather do something a little less exciting. Something he could do in the safety of the apartment.

Aside from blowing stuff up of course.

I gathered up a multitude of different paints and brushes, and set out a place that would be safe from messing up anything important before Seven woke up for the day.

I was about halfway done setting up when Seven popped up beside me and started chewing on the paintbrushes... What's so delicious about them that he thought the best thing to do was shove them in his mouth...?

Anyways. I picked him up and set him back in his room so I could finish setting up. It's amazing how fast the little guy is. By the time I returned he was already there chewing on the paintbrushes again.

I picked him up, shut the door, and returned to the living room get back to work.

Then I returned to Seven's room to get back the paintbrushes he still had.

Closed the door.

Returned to the living room, picked up Seven again and put him back in his room.

Opened the door back up, grabbed the paints from him, closed the door, made sure there were no paintbrushes missing. Returned to the living room to get back to work.

Huff.

Seven was a handful. But finally things were situated to get finished up. I haphazardly went about setting up the room for him to be able to paint before finally going back to his room to retrieve him.

Just as I opened the door I saw him covered in red paint. SIGH..

I snatched seven off the floor and brought him into the living room and tried to explain to him what it was to paint and how to do it. He seemed fascinated and immediately took up the paints and brushes and got to work.

I, on the other hand, went to fetch cleaning supplies to clean the red paint stains out of Seven's carpet.

Bad idea.

Leaving a baby alone with paint unsupervised = very bad idea.

Sure he could paint well for a child, but did he REALLY have to paint well on my walls? So much for setting up a safe place for him to paint.

Seven LOVED painting. He loved smearing the paint everywhere and making pretties.. He said so himself, "Yay pwetties!" Of course he said this as he was pointing to the back of the couch and the mucky blue and green and red smears he'd left on it.

I'm just glad I didn't buy more paint. I'll have to get him out of the house and hire someone to clean this place up...
