Ei, it is true... the fans probably would but itwas that kind of attitude the contributed to the creation of the "Comic Code".

The Comic Code is the title given to the mass censorship of comic books in the 1950's and 60's. It was fully called the "Comic Code of Conduct". Comics were pretty much in the same boat as VG's and hard music are in today but the steps taken against it were MUCH more drastic.

Example 1: A lot of people believe that Batman originally started as the goofy superhero with the "WHAM!" and "POW!" effects and then turned into the brooding dark knight we know today. This is false; the original Batman started as the edge dark hero, and he actually faced issues that even today's Batman doesn't face. There was quite a few drug references and many hints of an actual (not jokingly) homosexual relationship with his partner, Robin.
When the Comic Code was enforced, Batman lost all its edge and became the Batman we associate Adam West with. The Batman we see today is him going back to his original roots.

Example 2: Even today Superman is looked at as a conservative All-American superhero. Superman did not always think so highly of the American way of life. His red cape and S were almost stripped from him as a sign of being commie (his blue suit counter-acted that decision though). He does still struggle with fitting in with Earthlings but pre-code it's because he could not understand the American way of life... not because he had superpowers that made him ackward.
His enemy Lex lost nearly all his villianous behavior of murder, drug-peddling, weapon sales, etc. for misdemeanor crimes such as littering, but was later bumped up to shady business man during the comic world's big anti-Stan Lee campaign.

Comic Code is in the end the prime example of what happens to an industry such as VG's if the bashers got their way.

I can't see Bush making an energy deal with Shinra.... that's oil money out of his pocket. Now... a weapon deal... I can see that.

I hold him to be criminally insane, wacked out on the Q (Dane Cook Reference) and uber-powerful, but not evil. If you found out you were a genetic experiment, a freek never meant to be, would not you snap? He never actually attempted to kill cloud, just to mess with him. He is playing with Cloud in Advent Children, and there is no denying he could have killed Cloud, but he stabbed himin the shoulder.

No offence to you, but I just want to put my opinion out there.

Same thing happend in columbine. They blamed video games. People scapegoat so they don't have to blame themselves... who are the people to blame...
