Our school's GSA will try to spread it thoughtout the school, get the message out, and get people to paratispat. Also I will be trying to submit a article I wrote agianst another article about the event. It was a day against the day of silence. So I will try to get that published.
We might sell rubber bracelets for a fund rasier and send the money to an orginastion.

Ninja_686 I know my school's GSA will have a big to do, as it has everyyear. I'm going to try and participate and what not, but sometimes I just can't shut up. sweatdrop That's awesome. As long as you show your support, it really doesn't matter if you are silent at all. I know a couple of groups who actually talked as much as they could to get the word out. Apparently it went well.

Do they even know what they Day of Silence is for? It to remember those who were innocent, but were victims of hate crimes. Its for those innocents who were kicked out of their homes for simply loving another human being. crying sweatdrop

Our GSA has been talking a LOT about the Day of Silence! mrgreen I'm so excited!
Basically, we're gonna wear little rainbow ribbons (think AIDS ribbons, only rainbows) and carry around bags of them, in case anyone else wants to participate, along with a card/cards explaining what the Day of Silence is about. 3nodding I plan to keep quiet until an AWESOME Breaking the Silence party, which is held at another school.
On Thursday, we're gonna keep wearing the ribbons to protest some Christian group's "Day of Truth," a counter to the Day of Silence. stressed We're also gonna have our own party that day (our meetings are on Thursdays).

AWESOME!! heart Let us know how the protest goes. That really kind of stinks that they are protesting a day of reverence for those who have been brutally murdered and for those children who end up living on the streets. Hopefully someday we will be able to enlighten them and show them how unaccepting and extremely judgemental they are being. Its things like that that will never bring any kind of peace to this world, let alone a single country. cry Good luck with the protest and have fun at your breaking the silence party!
