[PRP] New Life in the Graveyard ( Neus X Bluu )

[Whimsical Blue]

Bluu let out a sharp cackle of laughter as he spoke, shaking her head vigorously to make her mane fly. Silly thing... it was hardly practical to refuse food when other offered it. Her heavy shoulders rolled in a shrug, and a goofy grin pulled her maw wide as her tongue lolled off the side of her jaw.

"Well now, you're done. Lets get going! Which ways your pack?" Her circling ended with her before him, poised with her nose and one paw in the air. Bones... dust and bones was all she could smell in this place. Though... if she turned towards one certain direction, she could just make out the faint scent of water and green things if she tried hard. Pridelands lay that way, yes... But that was for sure not what she was looking for.

Grumpy old lions... they hated hyenas, and she was forever forced to skirt the Pridelands on her way to more interesting, safer places. Ice blue eyes flicked to Neus, and she grinned again, one ear swiveling to catch his response.

Neus eyed her balefully for a moment before lifting his shoulder in a shrug. "I don't need an escort, but if you wanna tag along that's fine." The juve started limping gamely deeper into the boneyard. "It's this way."

The sound of his bad leg dragging on the ground made him wince - it didn't really hurt any, but it sure as hell made him feel bad. Sweating with the effort, he kept his steps as quiet and sure as possible.

It was still too loud and clumsy. She was probably laughing at him right now, thinking how stupid and worthless he was.

Well, at least he wasn't blue. Didn't stand out in the boneyard like a sore thumb. The pup grinned. "Good thing you're so big, since I could see coming for a mile with -that- coat." Probably a bad thing to say to someone so much bigger than him, but eh - he couldn't let her get away with those thoughts!  

[Whimsical Blue]

Blue cackled as she trotted easily to catch up, falling into an easy walk at his sides. Unlike her soft-pawed steps, her voice lifted on the air with enough prescence to send what few birds there were here lifting into the sky. A grin split her face, ivory fangs flashed to him.

"Its a good thing I'm big? I guess so. Not much messes with somethin' like me." She laughed as her heavy shoulders rolled with her steps, a stray breeze ruffing her white ruff. "I'm the way I am. Blue is me, Bluu is blue!" Another cackle split the air in a rush as she laughed at her own joke.

"Most rather like the color, or so I've been told. I'm unique... odd, and strange... One of a kind! And its a grand thing."

Her easy strides were a stark contrast to his thump/drag, though she made up for her ease in movement with her loud voice.  

[Ronove]

"Grand, huh?" Neus would've laughed, but she really -was- big. Could probably snap him in half without a second thought.

He knew what she was doing, talking all loud like that. Despite himself, his bad mood lifted slightly. He glanced over at his traveling companion, then shook his head slightly.

"Blue isn't the WORST color, I guess." He admitted grudgingly. "You could be somethin' like... oh, orange or something!" He shuddered. You'd never be able to hide in the boneyard.

"Our pack is just beyond that pile of bones, there." The juve nodded towards a mound of vertebre and ribs. "Mafa might not take kindly to you prowling around her packlands, though." He warned again.

Bluu laughed as she nodded. "Or somethin' reaaaaally bright... like yellow." She cakled as she bounced on her paws, raising puffs of dust as she landed.

At the mention of the pack, the blue female slowed to a stop at his side, lifting her heavy head and perking her ears. Ah, the pack... she'd consciously avoided anything but singular hyena's from it. "I'm not a fool, boy-o." She said, her voice considerably softer and more serious than ever before. "I don't care to get into a fight I can't win." She turned a dazzling grin on the pup as her little white tail flipped against her haunches. "Its why I've been hanging around the edge, ye know? I'm not much one for joining anything, but this place... fascinates me. So here I stay, till someplace else catches my eye."

Thick muscles bunching and rippling, she shook herself all over, letting off a fine cloud of dust that lightened her fur a few shades. "I guess I'll be leaving you here then, Neus. Maybe I'll see you again sometime, eh? I'm all over in my travels, I'm sure our paths will cross again. That is, if you care to see a silly old girl like me again." She offered him a goofy grin, hoping to leave him on an up-note.  

[Ronove]

"Yellow might not be TOO bad, as long as it wasn't super blinding." Neus canted his head. "After all, a lot of the bones are kinda yellow, you know."

The pup shook his head. Talking about color with a stranger! Idiot. His expression grew more solemn.

"If I was as strong as you..." There it was. The truth. He was a dependent, and it ate away at him every day. The pup grimaced. "IF I was, I would do the same. You're stronger alone." No one to hold you back.

Or betray you.

"Of course I would!" It was out before he could stop it, and a sheepish smile replaced his sour expression. Well, it's true! She'd given him a good meal, and she was nice, after all. More approachable than Mafa. "So, I'll see you again sometime then."

The grin remained on his jaws as he turned and trotted painfully towards the pack headquarters.

Bluue grinned and nodded as she turned to face in the other direction, casting a glance over her shoulder.

"Ye will be, pup." She called to him. "Ye just give yerself time, and eat as much as ye can, an keep exercising that leg of yers. Ye'll get there." Despite Bluu's normal loner philosophy... it felt kinda good to know that out there, there was at least one creature that would be happy to see her again. It kind made a warm spot in her chest, but she quickly squashed it like she'd squash a bug under her paw.

Now, now... warm feeling made you soft, and they could hurt you no matter how much you liked them. Better to just be paw-loose and carefree than to let a little slip of a pup tie you down to one place... Chuckling to herself, Bluu watched till Nues disappeared around a pile of bones, then trotted off to find someplace cool and far from the pack to take a little nap.
