D= Eeew, that sucks. I had braces from second to sixth grade if I remember correctly. I remember once, they forgot to tuck the wire in at the back, and for two days before we could make an appointment to get it fixed, it was DIGGING INTO MY CHEEK LIKE A PAINFUL ********, and it was just NOT very comfortable at ALL. I hated braces, I remember for a few days after I would get them tightened, I wouldn't be able to eat solid food. I have sensitive teeth. D= Good luck with your teeth, Ret. ._.

Although I guess I'm glad I got them. My Orquestra buddy, whose kind of random and VERY strange, once was randomly like "Hey smile for me for a minute?" I was trying to talk to someone else, so I just half-mindedly open-tooth smiled not really paying attention, and he stared for a few seconds and was like "Your top two teeth are perfect." gonk THAT KID IS WEIRD. Who notices those things? talk2hand

And I got my retainer today.

Braces are no fun. People are always like "Yeah, I can't have gum cause I've got braces." and I'm all "Have gum anyways. They dont' care much." xDDD I haven't gotten to the rubber bands yet. >__<

I've had a pallete expander or however it's spelt. It hurt like hell. gonk Two cranks every night. It make the pallete/roof of my mouth wider. Food got stuck up on top of it and inbetween it and the roof of my mouth all the time. gonk Talk about annoying.

I really hope I get to the rubber bands soon, that'd mean it's getting closer to the end, and that soon enough I'll be sitting in that char and he'll be taking this chunk of metal out of my mouth. whee

Not that the rubber band'll be fun. ninja Just rather get it all over with.

It's Time to D-D-R!

I have some problem where my lower jaw isfarther back than where it should be, so I need to get surgery to move it forward. In the meantime people just assume I have an overbite, but that's not the case. ANYWAY.

I had braces for.. 3 -4 years, maybe more. I can't remember why, but it sucks. As soon as I got the braces off, I was so happy. I had braces on so much longer than all of my friends, and it really sucked. I got in a fight one time, and someone punched me in the mouth, so I had to go to the dentist and be all like "Hay yeaz, my braces almost dug a hole on the inside of my lip, what do I do?"

Luckily, I never had to go through rubberbands. I don't even know what rubberbands are for. I had a cool dentist, though. He'd be all like "You can have braces for this long, or you can have headgear for this long." I decided to not go through the embarrassment nor uncomfortableness that was headgear, and I really fear sorry for anyone who does. =(

But then again, I've never really seen anyone with headgear that was real. I've seen cartoons, TV shows, but nobody on the news or at my schools or anything.

Aside from that, I was going to get the jaw surgery, but I found that I'd have to get braces again before I could do it, and then afterward my mouth would be wired shut for a month or two.

Honestly, I only knew about the wired mouth shut thing, and it took me a few months to figure out how I was going to live throught hat. I decided it'd be a better choice, so I began to set up getting the surgery... then they told me about getting braces beforehand and I was "Oknoit'snothappeninganymore."

I did get retainers after I got my braces off, but I never wore them. Kind of stupid(I think, but I'm probably wrong) because my teeth aren't [visibly] crooked.
