I hate to say it, but hat's honestly one of the most hideous lolita outfits I've ever seen. Not that I would even call it lolita in the first place, but either way, it's really quite ugly.

From the instructions, its from pieces of pre-existing clothing...

Basic Materials: - cotton Nightie - school uniform blouse - half-slip or lightweight cotton skirt - plain, lightweight cotton pajama bottoms - 3 yards buckram tape or belt facing - 3 yards tulle fabric - eyelets, lace, ribbons, seam binding, etc. - tights, shoes, gloves to complete the outfit Instead of giving people a crappy outfit they can make from stuff they might have at home(I don't have any of the clothing items used by SB), it would've been far more benefitial to give people shopping hints and tips on how to "jazz up" things you buy. "Try hunting around these stores as they usually have good buys for blouses. Look for this style of skirt. To give it a Loli flare, add lace trim to the bottom and wear a petticoat underneath, etc."

Oh dear, you're right. That is quite horrible. I guess I should be careful with how much Nyquil I take sweatdrop ! I apologize for that, it's truely.. aweful.

I never really cared much for Shojo Beat except for now.
My comment on the DIY Sweet Lolita outfit is that it does not look so nice. It seems as if the person who wrote this article just read articles on Lolita but has never even seen an outfit. With just a few changes to the clothing and material used and the design, it would have looked better.

 The bloomers are a bit too long for my taste.
The color scheme is HORRIBLE. Where the ******** did she get the gold and reallydeep burgundy(is it black? I can't tell) from? She should've just stuck to varying shades of pink. I'd love to give the girl the benefit of the doubt and say "Well, maybe she saw how horrible it was but didn't have time to change it since she was on deadline," but still.
Something about the top just seems weird to me. At first I was like "Tanktop over a blouse? What the ********?" but I guess that the entire nightie goes over top of the blouse. With a better photograph, I'm sure it would look worse. It would've been better to instruct people to add all the embellishments to the blouse, hack off the top of the nightie, and put some elastic in the bottom part that remains(for the skirt).
The bonnet doesn't look bad. If I ever make a sweet lolita outfit, I might use that bonnet as a reference. Overall, the outfit failed. GWAHHH! my eyes! that has to be the ugliest excuse for "lolita" that i have ever seen. what the heck was she thinking? how can people consider her the queen of lolita? DO PEOPLE NOT KNOW WHO KANA IS?!

viiictoria Nezumi Kakashi Morbid Gnome I wanted to vomit when it arrived in the mail. I really don't care for Nana. I describe her as the Japanese Avril Lavigne. She tries oh-so-hard to be punk yet fails miserably. Most of the content in this month's issue was good. I didn't care for the interview with Nana, obviously, and I found the DIY Sweet Lolita dress to look hideous. Perhaps with a prettier model and a better color choices it would've looked more appealing. I TOTALLY AGREE. I actually rather like Nana Kitade though, but i HATE how people refer to her as "The Queen of Gothic Lolita". No. Just no, plain and simple. And that DIY thing make my eyes bleed. It was like Little Bo Peep meets picasso. It was an eyesore....>< The editors have really been bugging me lately...I think they're seriously under-informed about Lolita. Overall I didn't like the articles in this issue, (those "valentines Day" recipes didn't look very romantic or cute at all. :/ NOT what I was expecting), but as usuall, I loved the actual manga part. XD; I totally agree with everything you just said. Those bloomers are MADE OF FAIL. Please, no one try to re create them.
I don't mind Nana. I think she's quite cute, actually, but this.... DIY monstrosity kills me.

...is that really...the outfit? My eyes started to water after seeing it. I'm going to Borders today to get it. My eyes..the image wont get out of my head DDDDDX I'm really dissapointed in Shojo Beat (I never really ever had any hope in them) I'm still a little annoyed how they gave un-loli links saying that it was loli.

I must say, that's worse then any poser loli outfit I've seen. The colours are very off, and the bloomers! gonk I honestly hope I never see anyone wearing that in public, and pity the poor thing that does if I see them.

X.X I just got it last night...DDDDDDDDDDDX I almost threw up after reading it (>.<..I really almost did) If you dont sew, use fabric glue?!?! WTF!?! FABRIC GLUE DDDX I hurt after reading this since sewing is my life. Use bedsheets for fabric?!?! DDX sheets belong on your bed not on you unless you are in bed. Ugh I sorta feel sick X.X *passes out*

I dont consider Nana to be that lolita. She seems like Amy lee, you know, trying to be all gothic when you know that shes really not.
i dont think she dresses all that loli either... =/ She seems full of herself ^^'' I dont like to associate with things that make me feel that way.
