Well I have a classic Truck that I inherited from my father...It is a "1958 Chevrolet Apache Stepside 3100" It has a V-8. It has a little bit of rust but it runs. It is a restoration job that me and my father started on.

in about 4-months I'll be the owner of a cherry '66 Mustang Coupe... 289 V-8, if it has an automatic, it's getting replaced by a T-5 and I'm going to have a machine shop put out some 2.90 rear gears for me. Fuel injection will be dropped in along with headers. Ought to be a nice little pony to hop around in.

MOEs Glad to hear the auto is going, What Injection set up are you going to use? Edelbrock... 1000cfm... pretty good improvement over stock... Header's will probably be from HOOKER.

I don't believe any of the fuel injection kits for a 289 actually have that small a rating. I think the lowest you can get is 600.

They actually do make as small as a 400cfm system, however, I'm not one to settle for what "would do". I want what can really make it perfor well. The thing I really like about the Edelbrock 1000cfm system, is unlike a lot of the Holley systems, it includes everything from the inejctors, ECM, and any other part needed to set up the system. One thing I really like is that it also has a calibration module with it, so, I won't need a lap-top to calibrate the fuel-injection system.

Well on a otherwise stock engine it's a bit overkill.

The reason that Holley doesn't include all of that miscellaneous stuff with their carburettors is that they also offer a far wider variety of high performance fuel injectors, fuel pumps, ECM, etc., while the Edelbrock is limited in it's compatability to a, less high performance, moderate streetable version.
