"Everyone could hunt, everyone learns it when they are cubs. If they cannot hunt they why must you hunt for them? They are using you...."

He replied, still gruffy, looking around with watchful eyes. Where are these stupid things? He swore that these fish would be better, much better. He looked back at her and huffed again.

"Then stop hunting for them and just for yourself. If you are really better than them, then they can't do anything to you if you don't feed them than whine."

he added. How could siblings take over each other like that? Trig was his half-brother to his understanding. But Trig was completely harmless until he was forced which was rare. How did this happen? Sisters using one another. It seemed as if Mwana was the one targeted here and yet she kept her properness. With his eyes rolled away, he spotted what looked like an Impala. Good something to hunt. He crouched low and stalked away from her.

"Stay there..."

He whispered as he disappeared into the grass. Moments passed of snarls and cries, he had returned with not one but two impalas. On on his back and the other in his maw. He dropped the one in his maw and gave a heavy sigh.

"This good enough to leave them half-starved?"

Mwana eyed his catch with a hint of appreciation. She didn't usually catch two on one hunt. But then...she couldn't really carry two at a time anyway with her small frame. And it was a waste of effort, since if she came back for a second trip the scavengers would have gotten to it by then. "Well...that actually should be quite alright...we're rather light eaters, I suppose you could say," she commented, "Though...I could go get something to add if you like." Not that she really wanted to. She gave him a small smile, "As to...why I still do it for them and their lazy attitudes well...they're my sisters. I can't let them starve can I? I may not look like I care but...I do love my sisters."

"I'd let them starve. If they really wanted to eat then they would get it themselves after realizing that you were not gonna feed them. I have my own half-brother, though I just met the guy, he is a lot like you. He helps others, but he helps others because he feels like it. He even offered me his home, though I stayed and then left. I could not stay in a place that was not my own. Just rubbed me the wrong way. If you love your sisters as much as you say, you got to let them go and make them learn. You can't baby them, they aren't your daughters and you aren't their mother."

He looked at her and sighed. He could see that she was a bit worse off than most. Maybe he was wrong to be angry with her, though she did annoy him with her proper outwardness, anger was a little too far.

He reached down and snatched the second impala onto his back. He bent his knee down anticipating the impact of the sudden weight and straighted himself.

"Ready to go...?"

Mwana wanted to ask him that if it had been his brothers would he have really let them starve as he said? She honestly doubted it. When it came to affection, logic rarely played a role. Besides...they would just find some way to needle her about it, which was probably worse. So she let him alone. Let him come and see for himself what she was dealing with. She doubted someone like him, who repeted the same points over and over, could win in a battle of logics against Mbweha.

"Yes, thank you," She nodded her head. She still had her manners after all, such was the responsibility of a high-born lady. She took off again on her feather light steps, leading the way to her siblings. Or whoever was still in the resting spot at least.

It was quiet in the spot she rested, her paws draped considerately over the branches of an otherwise horrible looking tree. They’d had their share of crappy places to live- but this was probably one of the high points of their low series of homes as the three sisters traveled. The bark of the tree was still charred from where a bolt of lightning had set it aflame- and each breath the dainty and lovely looking white lioness took was swallowed in the smell of burnt and healing wood. Bitterly she crinkled her snout and rolled a bit. She was hungry- Mava had drifted off it seemed, and Mwana had gone out to do the hunting after much proding. It left Mbweha to plot...and quite frankly, she was running out of ideas.

She picked a destination, they traveled- and nothing. No one seemed to be touchable for their wiles. They could have easily found a home in one of the prides, but that wasn’t good enough. It would have meant life had defeated them. It had stolen their birthright, and laughed in their faces. Agitatedly she puckered her whiskers and danced her wine colored eyes away. It was probably winning even as she thought of ways to stop it. It wanted to run them again and again until they were old. Only Afu had had the gall to break away from the sisters and strike it on her own. But Mbweha was determined to not let that happen. She might have been cold, but she loved her sisters. In reality- they were the only things she had.

As the white Fox rested, she became aware of the smell of blood coming from the distance. It struck her interest. Usually Mwana called for them to come to her- but this sounded distinctly like blood coming closer. Strange... she folded her ears suspiciously and rose up on the leafless tree. “....” Her mouth shifted, and she hopped down.

((assuming Mistweavers are still smaller than FK))

Trigger had moved close beside Mwana, making sure to keep up with her pace. It was her leading that would get him to her sisters, otherwise he would be left wandering around with two carcasses of impalas. Looking up ahead with pale green eyes he could see her sister, or assuming it was her. She was white and ...okay that was all he could tell from where he was. He just moved closer. On closer expection he noticed that there was three females here, the white female, a sleeping one, and Mwana. Looking at these other two, he could already notice their laziness. One was sleeping when she could be hunting, but what was this white one doing? The big Firekin shrugged his shoulder letting the two pieces of meat fall to the ground leaving some blood stains on his back though he did not care much.

"So, I am gonna assume you are Mbweha."

He glared at her, his growling still rumbling deep down as before when he first spoke with Mwana (though, he had stopped growling at her since their talk). Looking at her and then to the tree and then everything else it seems that they were living poorly. Not even a good tree for shade or even a den or shelter from nature. Here these two are being lazy and having their sister hunt. Was Mwana the youngest? Mbweha the oldest? Who the hell was the sleeping one? He stepped forward and looked down at Mbweha.

"I also assume you are the lazy female who is making her sister hunt for you and that one there, correct?"

A hint of agitation, anger, and a growl were put together to form those words. He was obviously not very happy with the idea and maybe he needed to make it clearer.

Mwana watched Trigger's reaction with great interest. It was very strange...for though she knew he didn't like her, since they were two strangers, it was almost like he was defending her. Mmm...that was soooo nice for a change! Though...she hoped growling was all he would do. Fighting her sisters really wasn't what she had in mind. If they wouldn't hunt, what made him think they'd fight? Well, she supposed she'd let it play out for the time being.

"Look, Mbweha~" she said with a smile, "This charming helped me get us food. Well...it was more like he did the brilliant show of skill, actually." Best give him his dues, after all.

Mbweha arched an eyebrow at Mwana as she approached in the company of a large red male. She had not been with the mistweavers long enough to identify him as being firekin- but there was a kind of instinctive caution that rolled over her. Daintily, the small white creature strolled a circle around him and Mwana, before alighting her ears and looking perplexed. “Yes, I am Mbweha.” The fox explained. Was this part of Mwana’s temper tantrum? Or perhaps... she furrowed her brow, and sat.

“Funny one, I see.” She stoically remarked. “You bring us food?” She purred, and gave him a hazy glance out of her amethyst eyes. She kept them upon him as she walked towards Mwana, rubbing up against her briefly. “And show of skill, mm? You don’t see many with that nowadays. How generous of you- I thank you for the food, although I am sure my sister has already done so.”

The white Fox turned, turning her head to the tree. “Unfortunately,” Mbweha started, craning her neck. “I can’t offer you much accommodation. We’re not exactly living glamorously at the moment.” As Mwana spoke, her ruffled coat shifted, and a small smile crossed her face.

Trigger kept a closer eye on the moving female, not entirely comfortable with her moving around him like that. If anything it would be him. But his assumtions were right, she was Mbweha, the sister that Mwana had spoken of. By the looks of it she didn't seem to thank Mwana at all for actually going out of her way to hunt for them and if it were not for her there would be no food. Curious, he wondered if she never hunted, would these two still be here.

"I wasn't trying to be funny. As for the food," he glared at her, raised to his feet and flicked a impala corpse toward her. "this one belongs to the lazy ones. This entire one belongs to the huntress of this male-less pride you having running here. She is the one doing the work so she needs the food more than you do."

Trigger stood over the last impala defensively, only letting Mwana be able to take it. His eyes were cold for this sister, he cared not if Mwana would get mad or displeased, he was not here to please anyone for that matter.

"I never planned to stay, I am here to knock some sense into your head that a lone lioness could not possibly hunt for many by herself. It is a group effort, strength in numbers that take down good and multiple game. Strength in (well, in this case) sisters aid one another. Frankly, I see neither. Can you not hunt for your siblings, Mbweha? What if Mwana is to be hurt or unable to hunt, what will you do then, force her to through her injuries? Answer me and I might just drop the subject."

The growl in his chest grew louder and louder as it gave greater dramatics to his 'lecture'.

Mwana couldn't help it. She felt extremely smug, having a complete stranger lecture her sister on her injustice. If someone completely out of the picture could see it so clearly, then it was obvious what was right. And though she loved her sisters, she did ever so like being right. It also made her feel appreciated. She loved it. Though...she had a feeling it wouldn't last for too long. Mbweha was the queen to word-play and logic. She get get her way in any conversation. She doubted it would be much different. But, Mwana surely wouldn't spoil the show. She simply gave her sister a curious gaze, as if asking her what exactly she would do.

The white female blinked, and did not miss a beat. She glanced once again towards Mwana, and then back to this giant. The words he spoke sounded like he’d gotten the brunt of Mwana’s temper tantrum, but she did not think it was like her to set up some male to go and yell at her. To Mbweha- the family system worked as good as it possibly could. They all had a role to play. But she wasn’t about to argue with this male.

“If that’s what you’ve hunted for, I’ll not argue with it.” Mbweha said steadily, and walked towards where he had dropped the impala. “You could have chosen not to, and there would be nothing.” As it was; she didn’t eat much. She hungered, but worried far too much to get a full stomach.

“I can hunt, but only barely.” The Fox spoke, her head turned as she walked to the impala. “Mwana is good at hunting. We all have a part to play. I do not mean to force her to hunt.” She put her paw on the corpse and rolled it over to expose her favored part. “Perhaps if I planned better, we wouldn’t need to hunt at all.” She lowered her head and took a small bite.

“It is easy for such a strong man to say his mind,” The female thrummed, emphasizing strong man, “Things are not always so easy.” She daintily pulled another piece, and swallowed. “But that is how we are. Thank you for helping my sister.”

If only they could get wind of something...something that could change this course!

Was she playing with him? It was as if she was brushing off his words and replied with little intrest. Did she even mean half, no, anything that she had said? Who was this female....she was worse than her sister! He glanced back at Mwana and then back to Mbweha.

"I hunted because I was asked to. I was curious as to who this so called "brick wall" was and to spare your sister of hunting again for you. If I did not hunt, this female would still be hounding me to accompany her on her hunt."

He replied, still standing over the last impala. The scent of blood was strong in three locations, from the impala and Mbweha, the impala under him, and the blood that had matted his back. It just made him a bit...well, it rubbed him the wrong way when the scent was still and strong.

"If you can hunt, then god damn it, hunt. Mwana is only better because she hunts much more than you. You hunt worse because you don't hunt at all. Mwana, when was the last time you remember your sister hunting, be truthful."

His voice was deep, strong, stern, and yet angered. He was beginning to appreciate his brother more and more. Sure he had offered to hunt for him, but he, being the Firekin and proud male he was, declined and hunted himself. This sister-sister relationship needed to stop. Well, as he thought.

"Nothing is easy, everything needs to be worked for. Nothing drops from the sky and confers itself to you to make your life easier. If Mwana had not asked me to hunt, you would be still in that tree waiting for her to return with food."

"The last time she hunted...?" Mwana asked with raised brows. That was rather comical a question. She honestly couldn't remember the last time. It had been so few and far inbetween that her memory just...couldn't pin-point it. She was certain Mbweha had done it sometime or another...she just didn't remember when. It didn't stick out in her mind among the countless days of her going off alone to bring back food for the family. She probably remembered those moments better because she had always been fuming and had always thrown fits, to no avail. They didn't work on her siblings, they were quite immune.

"I can't recall," she said truthfully with a roll of her shoulders. She eyed the impalla under Trigger but...she had no desire to eat it while he was perched over it. Besides, she might miss some of the conversation that way.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 15, 2007 3:39 pm

Mbweha rose her sleek head, and peered back at him. “As I have waited many nights. We don’t always eat. But unfortunately, it is not so easy.” She explained again, as though he had not heard her. Had he not believed her? It made her flinch and lower her eyes. What was so hard with everyone doing something for the group? Maybe she did take advantage of Mwana sometimes...but she didn’t mean it, and to some extent, Mbweha was afraid of hunting. If she got hurt, and lost her looks...she wasn’t sure what she’d be able to do. She’d be just a worthless scrap of fur.

“I wait it out. Someday, it will change. And she’ll never have to hunt again, and I’ll never have to whore myself out again.” She snapped bitterly. “I’m sorry if you think I am insincere. I thank you for the food, although if it was taken from you simply by agitation, I am sorry. But this is how we work. You know nothing of our lives.”

She pulled at the food hungrily, and simply looked off. She didn’t mind Mwana admitting she couldn’t recall the last time she’d hunted. She barely hunted. She probably never hunted. And when she did- she only was the one that ran to flush the prey out of the grass. The last thing she’d killed had been a small mouse. Bitterly, she swallowed the food which had lost it’s taste. He was still berating her, and privately she wondered just who he was. Some man? Or had Mwana actually come back with a royal? If this was apart of her scheme, she wouldn’t throw a fit. The sisters made great sacrifices in attempts to get themselves up in the ranks.

"I've had enough of this," he started as he looked back to Mwana. "You must eat now. Then you must make a choice, will you stay here and continue to hunt day after day by yourself or follow me and seek out a good, safe place where we could rest peacefully. And I am sure I would hunt with you when you so wished it then."

He finished, looking back to the female he had met. Moto'Vianzio, his birth name, took his paw away from the impala and sat down. Though, he didn't see why she didn't just pull it right from under him, however, that was her choice to wait for him to move from it. He could feel that monsterous blood boiling in his veins again. His eyes were straining again, wanting to turn sharp as she peered back at Mbweha. NO!, Quickly pulling them away. He looked down at his paws, stained with the blood of the imala....his body shuttered.

"Mwana, make your choice quickly. But do eat before the nocturnals catch the scent of dead meat."

Actually, the reasoning for the rush was for him to get out of there and away from Mbweha. Something about this whole situation, not just her made him want to....break something.
