Jasper the Pretty Hobo

Jasper's lip twitched at the thought, "You can try," he said smugly, waving a finger at her, "but I won't give in unless I'm deeply persuaded that the Host club is worth it. From what I saw today, I really don't think they need me, even. You've got a lot of obsticles in your way before I become a Host. Even a Host in Training."

"Don't worry, Oniichan. I'll get you in there..." she hesitated, "Eventually."
She saw Jasper smiling smugly across the room, arms folded. Turning around and leaning her back against the wall, she glared at him. "Just. You. Wait."
Jasper didn't adjust his stance. Keru shrugged from the wall, walking slowly in his direction, and then pushing him lightly on the shoulder.
He stumbled backward slightly. With a brief shocked expression, he composed himself and stepped back toward Keru. She smirked and stepped around him.
"I have homework. We'll discuss this further after dinner, ne?"

"Sure." he smiled over his shoulder as Keru stepped from his room, shutting the door behind her.
He stood moments longer, when he suddenly strode to the window, taking a seat lightly on the large windowsil. With one leg folded against his chest, he stared musingly out of the glass at the scenery below.
"Just I wait, then."

Just opposite Jasper's bedroom, Keru opened and shut the large door. Leaning against it, she stared dismally at the floor.
"I'm an idiot for doing this." she breathed, hitting her palm softly against her head. "If Jasper doesn't want to become a host, I shouldn't force it upon him..." she whispered to herself, "But if I believe it's better for him to get around people like the Hosts, I should keep up with my promise..." she sighed deeply, sliding down the door and sitting awkwardly on the polished floor. "I'm hosed."

He tapped the end of the pencil against the blank notebook sheet, staring glumly at the senseless literature textbook that was opened on the desk in front of him. He was too caught up in today's occurences to do any homework- he just wouldn't admit it.
Maybe becoming a Host wouldn't be that bad if Keru seemed so enthusiastic of the thought. Surely the club has publicity, and it'd help him to gain better social skills.
He leaned back against the chair, pulling his arms up behind his head. Perhaps he'd make a special trip to the Third Music Room tomorrow afternoon, with or without Keru.

Keru strummed her fingers against the wood of her computer desk, tapping her chin as she stared at the glowing computer monitor. The sun was beginning to set outside the nearby window; she scowled in it's direction. She wasn't in the mood for writing out an unnecessary essay on The Phantom of the Opera. The book would have been wonderful if the end report wasn't required.
Instead, she saved the document and shut down the machine, pivoting in her chair to fully face the sunset just before her. She rested her elbows on her knees, her chin in her hands.

Yes, there was a knock at the door. Of course, it was Kyouya, coming by to see the boy who wanted to be a host. KYouya wanted to see for sure how the boy acted, his personality, his feelings. Perhaps if he got a better look and sought him out a bit more he would be able to find something in him that was worth the host clubs time. Hitori, when Kyouya met him, left a very strong first impression. There was something about him that made Kyouya wonder if his personality was real- if his actions were planned.

In this case, Kyouya wanted to figure out if Keru's brothers personality was even worth wondering about.

Jasper had just left his room, unable to concentrate on his homework, when he heard the knock at the door. He pause in the hallway, but didn't hear any of the designated servants run to answer it. He figured they must've been helping with dinner.
Sighing, he made his way down the hallway and stairs, and just before the door. Adjusting his tie, just incase it was some business manager for Daniel, he turned the knob and pulled it open.
Seeing Kyouya's stately appearance, he jumped slightly. Was he here for dinner?
"Good evening, Kyouya-sempai..." he bit his lip, "Are you here for my father?" he asked, motioning for the guest to enter. Jasper prayed that he didn't sound rude- never one with formal greetings.

Kyouya said nothing, raising a brow and touching his glasses with his index finger to adjust them. "I've come to talk over dinner, I suppose. Are you surprised?" He looked over Jasper, a sincere smile on his face. Yes, he was now the owner of a very large and powerful company that dealt in the medical area. In Japan he was a very important figure, thats why it was so strange to see him at a High School Host club. Of course, he let his father do the work and take care of the company... But Kyouya was in fact, the owner by name.

Jasper opened his mouth to reply, but was interrupted by Daniel's voice calling rudely from out of view.
"Who is it?"
Jasper flinched, watching Kyouya nervously. "One moment, please. I'll bring him." He nodded slightly, and turned in the direction the voice boomed from.
"Daniel," Jasper breathed, leaning against the doorframe, "Ootori Kyouya-sama is here. He wishes to talk over dinner."
"About what?" Daniel replied gruffly.
"Business, I'm sure." Jasper faked a smile.
"Okay." he sighed, "Go get your sister and I'll take him to the dining room."
"Thanks." he breathed as Daniel stood; pushing past Jasper, and stalking into the front room. He heard his stepfather greet Kyouya, and Jasper took off for the back of the house, searching for the back stairs. He was in attempt to calm himself even the smallest bit when he appeared from a door, and softly jogged down the hallway to Keru's room.

"Dinner, aleady?" Keru asked, opening the door. Jasper pushed her back in gently, closing the door silently.
"W-what?" she gasped sharply.
"Kyouya-sempai is downstairs!" Jasper hissed.
"What?!" Keru started, clapping her hand over her mouth in fear that it was overheard. "What?" she asked again, softly. "Why?"
Jasper told he that he was unsure of any reason besides business. She stared at him for a moment, "Well... now's your time to make a good impression."
Jasper exhaled deeply, facing the ceiling and closing his eyes.
"Anyway," she continued, "Let's just see what happens." she grabbed his hand yet again, pulling him out the door and walking silently down the hallway.

Kyouya raised a brow to Jaspers father. Strange. From what he heard Daniel was in the medical field. Though Doctors were usually reserved- though one can't percieve a person's personality... With a humble bow, Kyouya greeted Jaspers father. He was a handosme man, blonde hair, slightly alluring eyes. But he seemed a bit out there- or rather, he was a bit rude. Kyouya had dealt with worse though.

"The style of this house is interesting. Much like the historic district of Savannah, the city not only known for its ghosts but for its hospitals.."

Daniel chuckled, "My wife has always been fond of homes of this style. Although finding one in Japan was a bit complicating."
A servant scurried to Daniel, tapping him on the shoulder and whispering something under her breath. Daniel nodded, and gazed back to Kyouya.
"Dinner is prepared. If you'd be so kind as to follow me," he smiled, extending his arm for a moment, and then making his way toward an open dining room.

--

Jasper watched as the two strode barely out of view. He sighed, straightening up. "Okay, Keru." he gently pulled his hand from her grasp, and they both descended the staircase, following silently behind Daniel and Kyouya.
The dining room was set up with a long western-styled table, a white tablecloth draped neatly over it. There was a traditional pair of golden candle stands set on either end of the table, a glass plate laid at nearly every chair. Alice and Kathleen were already seated, waiting patiently for the others to take their seats. Alice seemed to blush as Kyouya came into her view; Jasper smiled to himself.

Keru was nervous about seeing Kyouya in her house... with Daniel. Daniel, especially, wasn't a father to brag over, she was sad to admit. He was rude and loud at times, surely the impression Kyouya would get for Jasper wouldn't be very good. She had to figure some way to get Daniel out of the room for only a few moments, to leave Jasper and Kyouya alone. Kathleen and Alice woun't interrupt, they were too stately. She was only worried about whether Jasper would keep his composure or follow after her.

"It is strange to see in Japan. But it has its own charm." Kyouya stated softly, looking to the side at Jasper. Adjusting his glasses he smiled politely. "Forgive me for coming so abruptly... Though this visit isn't exactly for business. Not of the medical field business..."

His brown eyes scanned the room, examining everyone. They lingered on the girl, Alice, for a moment and then closed. Flattery without words. IT seemed this family was made up of people who weren't blood related. In some cases... it meant that they were actually close. Though the children often didn't feel it, overall their parents held a deep love for them. In this case, Kyouya was actually hoping...
