Rita Rita stood in the abandoned courtyard of the mansion, staring at an earthenware pot. A headache throbbed somewhere between her eyes, but she wasn't going to stop until she could make it break.
"Come on," she whispered under her breath. The pot rattled. With a grunt, she heard it shatter.

Marki walked alone through the hallways, when he heard the sound of ceramic shattering. His reflexes made him reach for his sword and unsheathe it, turning in the direction the sound came from. "Hello?" he shouted out.

Rita Rita was startled by the sound of someone's voice. She abruptly stood, turning to the doorway. Softly, she stepped forward to the doorway. "Yes?" she asked cautiously.

Marki stood stock still as his hand lowered itself from the sword, "I didn't expect to see anyone here. I'm Marki, who are you?"

Rita
Rita pushed back a strand of hair from her face. "I'm Rita," she said guardedly. "Are you a Friend or and Enemy?"

Marki sheathed his sword. "Depends entirely if I know you or not."

Rita shrugged. "Well, you haven't tried to kill me yet," she observed. "Black or white magic?"

Rita cocked her head at him. "Really? So you're freelance or are you nonmagical? Although," she added, "that's quite unlikely, from the looks of you."

Marki looked at her, sizing her up. "Do you really want to know....What I am?" he asked. He yearned to reveal his secret; it gnawed at him like dogs at meat.

Rita smiled. "Sure," she said. She was curious about this unknown stranger.

Marki reached up to his helmet. He turned it to the left slightly, then took it off. What she would see would be a skeleton, nothing but bone, and one eyeball. He held the helmet under his arm. "I am an undead."

Rita
Rita felt an instance of fear. There had been many rumors about the undead; that they would suck the life out of you, that they were so evil if you set eyes on them you would burst into flame. But that moment quickly passed. She didn't believe in any of them.
"Oh," she said. Her tongue felt thick and clumsy. She couldn't think of anything to cover up her earlier fears. "That doesn't matter."

Marki was quite surprised. "Well, I never expected that response," he said as he put his helmet back on, clicking it into place. "I never wanted to be an undead; necromancy is an evil act, but I must make do with what I am. At least I can't die again..."

Rita
"So...you used to be a necromancer? Or a necromancer brought you back?" Rita asked curiously. She accidentally stepped on a shard of pottery and winced. The cut on her foot instantly turned red, and a drop of blood fell on the pottery piece.
