Much Ado About Nothing. The only reason I got into it was because my brother was doing the book for class. Since we're in America now, he doesn't need the book or anything..and I finished reading it a while ago.. :3

I have always loved Hamlet, as you'll be able to tell from my profile. However, I also enjoyed Othello, one that receives too little publicity in my own personal opinion.

Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello, Julius Caesar, The Taming of the Shrew...

I like most all his plays.

It's so hard to choose, but my top three are Antony and Cleopatra, Hamlet and Midsummer Nights Dream. My favorite character is definatly Ophilia.

I am completely in love with and captivated by A Midsummer Night's Dream. Of course the fact that it is fanciful and loaded with faeries might have something to do with that.

Hamlet is the greatest Shakespeare play ever. Everyone dies, and Ophelia was the only character with a sane mind, but it was very well written, and the characters fit perfectly into their respective roles.

Ophelia wasn't sane, she went mad and drowned herself.

Of those that I have read (Julius Caesar, Macbeth and Hamlet) I don't really have a favourite. They are all very good.

Actually I heard that there's a story that Hamlet was based on and in it Ophilia (or the girl she's based on) was drowned by the queen. Remember the queen is the only one who saw her drown and it never says she's actually insane that's left up to the read just like Hamlet's "insanity". I myself like to think she was just acting insane to help Hamlet, but it all in how you read it. I also like to think Hamlet and Ophilia faked their deaths and ran away together, but I like a happy ending.

Your final theory is unlikely and amusing although a nice thought. As to Ophelia's sanity, there is no indication to suggest that she is pretending to be mad. As to her helping Hamlet, I have to ask, how does she know about his plans?

He could have told her. If I remember correctly there was a time when they were in a room alone together and she told everyone he was acting strange, but he could have been telling her his plan.

Oh, Gods, I adore Shakespeare. I think that Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer's Night Dream and The Tempest are the best.

Really, I love all that I've read, and I've read quite a few. Hamlet and Othello appeal to my genuine sense of drama and both remind me just how easy it is to manipulate people that are unknowingly seeking out a delusion to fall into.
But Macbeth is my favorite of all time. There's just way too many great ideas in play to be denied.
And I always thought the witches were really cool. "Double, double toil and trouble..." makes a disturbing amount of sense if you follow the story well.

My favorite is definetly Hamlet. The themes are timeless, Hamlet himself is noble and poetic, and it ranges from funny to inspiring to depressing. It satisfies all my mood swings!
