Addie looked a bit relieved at the fact that the blonde boy was all right and stroked Serra's hair gently. The little girl turned her head to look at the other two and nestled further into her mother. Comfort, again. At least she didn't seem to mind that the shroud was causing a bit of a wet spot on her shirt.

"Well, congratulations. What's his name? I'm Addie and this is Serra. Say hello, Serra?"

The spirit had yet to say anything other than garbled baby words but it never hurt to try. Serra simply looked up at her mother with slight confusion, "Goooobaaaahwwweee?"

Yep, garbled baby speak.

"Yeah, Serra can't talk yet...I wonder how old she is. She just appeared out of nowhere earlier today. It's amazing how the rain let up so soon after she appeared, though."

"OH! This is Caden, and I'm Ethan. Caden doesn't like to speak much, not even in babygarble. But I bet he's saying hi, the way his eyes are glowing. Anyway, oh yeah, you were telling me about baby furniture?"
Ethan nodded at the bench in the middle of the hallway, dividing the 2 mall-lanes, and went to push Serra's pram towards it while the mother and her baby sat down. Caden followed speedily in his hovering footsteps.
"See, I've never thought about getting'em. I just gave up my bed when Caden came along, and bought him teacups, because he insisted on drinking tea instead of milk."
When he ran out of things to say, Ethan awkwardly bent down to stare at Serra in the face, real close, like an American, because she had these diamond-y blue marks.
"So uh, what about Serra and the rain?"

Oh, Serra did not like that at ALL. Serra screwed up her little face and the shroud thickened, soaking Addie's shirt completely and hiding the little girl from Ethan's view.

"Yes, I need to set up Serra's room. Children do need their own space, you know." She paused and shivered as the cold from the water set in, "Damn. One of my favorite shirts...Uh...She appeared in a rainstorm and shortly after the rain let up. And, by the way? Serra...is slightly shy."

Slightly being the understatement of the year.

"Aww geeze, I do apologize. I didn't know that Serra would get uncomfortable like that. Say, where'd you get that shirt? How about we go get another one? It's on me. And what you said about children needing their space, what do you think about Caden getting a blankie of his own?"

Of course, the fog-boy heard. Like the little child that he is, Caden tugged at Ethan's shirt from where he sat. He grasped tightly onto the little ball of cloth in his fingers and TUGGED. Ethan nearly fell off his seat.

"I guess we're getting a blankie, aren't we? I'm new to this stuff, honestly, so would you care to be the guide? I'll make sure we stop by that... whichever store you got your favorite shirt from."

"It's all right, really, I don't mind. I can dry it..." Hopefully it wasn't ruined but it WAS expensive and she wasn't going to make the other pay for it. She was about to answer on the blankie but it seemed that Caden did that for her.

"I'm rather new to this stuff as well," Addie admitted, "I only know what I know from friends with babies and random magazine articles...But I do know that I need a crib and blankets and...Maybe a mobile and some baby monitors and...."

Addie continued to tick off a list for a good five minutes before she took a breath, "I think that's all.

"Yeah, but it'll get all wrinkled and, well, it's not the same. Let's see... which store is it from? Harbour's?"
(Note: Harbour's = higher-end store like Banana Republic)
Ethan stopped to listen to the list Addie had... the five-minute-long list where she might've repeated one thing three times over, but Ethan couldn't tell because his short attention span flew elsewhere. Her voice gently faded away and with a *tick*, stopped. Ethan automatically responded.
"Haha, okay, that means we've got quite a shopping trip ahead of us. Let's get going."
Ethan headed over to the map of the mall -- something that he hadn't had to do since his first visit here.
"We'll stop by... Baby Marrón first. It's right next to Harbour's!"
(Note: Baby Marrón = hand-crafted baby... stuff)
