Okay, this is a part of the VERY END of the book, so spoiler for those who havent read.

Jacob comes back and reminds Edward and Bella of the treaty, that its broken if Edward bites Bella -- well, anyone, but as if the Cullens would do that, they barely have the guts to change Bella.

So, in essence, Bella is screwed. Become a vampire? Get hunted by werewolves. Dont become a vampire? Get hunted down by the Volturi.

Correct me if Im wrong, but they would still be breaking the treaty of they left Forks, changed Bella, and came back a year later, correct?

So how do you think this should/will be solved?
I've mentioned this on a few other threads, and I'll say it again. The treaty is already broken. Isn't part of the treaty to keep what the Cullens really are a secret? Jacob broke the treaty when he revealed to Bella what the Cullens really were. He may not have believed it himself, but that is how Bella found out. His people are bound by the treaty to keep that secret from the "pale faces". Also, if my memory serves me correctly, Jacob admits to himself that he has broken the treaty. (Jacob's point of view is on Stephenie's website.)

I personally wouldn't consider that as breaking the treaty confused

Jacob didn't know about anything back then, and it was already stated in New Moon that Bella found everything out by herself - a guess.

And they didn't have any problems then.

I wouldnt really either, but it technically is, I guess.

The question is, would Bella's mind have gone to vampires without the story's nudge toward her guess?

No, I don't think so...

As they say in the book a million times, she's not that creative rofl

...poor Bella.

DANGIT, now I have to re-read that part, but I think that they could do it if they just went outside of forks, I also have to say that Jacob is being really uncool about all of this, I mean, he promised to be her friend ALWAYS, I dont think that hunting her would be keeping that promise... If he knew what kind of danger she was in, he wouldnt do it. But also, beacuse Bella is special, the Voulturi arent able to find her, cause she resists all of the vampires' powers

Maybe they could take her up to Alaska and have the people up there change her. That would make it so that The Cullens wouldn't have to change here and they wouldn't break the treaty... Just a thought...

Yeah, I agree with Kitsune xD

I was trying to think about that myself...

I thought about them leaving Forks to change Bella...

I thought that they might not even come back. After all, they'll be in college, and well, they're immortal, so of course they'll have to leave Forks to live somewhere else someday, you know?
Like the Cullens have been doing for a century or so. 3nodding

There's also the possibility that (don't hate me here sweatdrop ) Bella won't even get changed in Eclipse at all.

I'm betting Edward will most likely change her by the end of Eclipse, or by the beginning of Breaking Dawn.

I'm sure just a few chapters won't be enough to tell everything there is to tell about Bella's transformation - I'm sure it'll require a whole book just for that. 3nodding
I personally think that Breaking Dawn will be the book about Bella's transformation. Or at least I hope so. gonk

yeah, well, if edward doesn't change her than the volturi will come and kill her, I am sure that even jacob could realize that her being a vampire would be worth that...right?????

The only things that would REALLY annoy me would be if she gets changed

a) at the end of a book (ewww, cliffhanger!)

Or even worse,

b) at the end of the LAST book. gonk

I swear to you, I WILL throw myself off a twentieth floor if Stephenie changes Bella by the end of the LAST book!!! scream

And I'll also leave a suicide note, saying that it was all her fault gonk

Cliffhangers are horrible, specially considering the time between book releases gonk

whoa, can we say skitsafrinic(sp?) there Unicorn?

I'm rereading it and she said that she guessed about Jake being a werewolf...

I believe if Bella and the Cullens just moved away from Forks, then changed her, that everything would be alright. But somehow, I don't think that's what the books are gonna do. I bet the werewolf gang understands this, so they are gonna attack first, not wanting anyone, even if it means saving their life, to turn into a hated bloodsucker.

I think most of us want Edward to bite her, but I feel bad for Jacob; only a few more months!!!!!

this is beside the point but whatever: Bella isn't immune to Jasper's powers, in the first book when they were in the hotel he tried to calm her down...to got to sleep I think.
