Kimeti eyes No with a predatory eye. It wasn't far off from the gleam he got when eyeing prey, but then again. No, wasn't ranked much higher than the creatures he preyed upon. Kimeti did take note the female's figure. It couldn't have been by accident that his son had picked such an attractive female. If the slave had a more bulkier frame and was large in stance she may have even passed as a Firekin. The black pelt would certainly get her admitance into the pride. None-the-less, No was a slave now and would remain so until her death.
"She looks fraile." Compared to the Firekin lionesses, No was far from looking like a lioness who could survive within the harsh conditions of the desert. "I'll not haveyou babying her should she get ill, Kidondo. She is a slave. She will need to learn to survive here in the desert by herself." he circled around No, a usual habit of his when analyzing others. "She will have to do for now. Should she die though, -I- will present you with a new slave. Afterall, it's the least I could do for my son coming of age." He stopped in fromt of Kidondo as he said this, a proud smile of his maw.

No was glad her head was turned to her paws, because she was sure a spark would have danced in her jade eyes. Her eyes blinked once, and it was gone, settling herself back into the role she was fulfilling. Frail! To think the dark and awkward No could be considered frail- but for good stride, she took it as a compliment. At least she seemed a plausible slave, and no one would suspect her of any clever thought. Her nostrils flared, and looked towards the King’s foot. She knew enough about protocol then to look him in the eyes- but had those paws had eyes, they might have caught the spark again.
Well, she hoped Kimeti would be creative should replacement No! become nessisary. To that, she curled her tail around her hips and licked her whiskers daintily.

"Well of course father. No outsider could ever be as strong as the Firekin. She knows her place here." He inwardly smiled, because he knew that No would be here for a long time, but not as a slave.
She would be a queen if she so wished it.
He gave another respectful bow of his head, a shimmer of affection leaking out for his father. They did share different views but he still loved Kimeti dearly. The lion was wise and strong, he was the perfect Firekin. But he had a weakness: he could not see that change was needed.
Part of Kidondo wished that his father would see the light so that they could reign together. Yet deep down he knew...he knew Kimeti was too set in his ways. It saddened him deeply.
"I have no doubt you will choose a fine slave if something were to happen to this one." He gave a disregarding gesture towards the black female. "I will show her to the slaves quarters. I'm sure she'll learn everything she needs to know from their mangy hides."
He felt a twinge of guilt at his father's proud smile and wished that he was not forced to trick him. Why couldn't he have been born into a normal family? Why did he have to be born a prince whose sole purpose was to restore life to his pride?
But if he had not been born Kidondo then he wouldn't have met No.
He wouldn't have found such courage.
"If there is nothing left to say father then I shall take my leave of you. I am tired from my trek and wish to rest, though I will find you later to give a full report if you so wish it."

Kimeti eyed his son and the newly aquired slave again before nodding his head. "I'd like to meet with you tonight, afterall your mother would like to see you as well as your siblings I am sure. I should think you would stay in the main den if only for tonight." Lifting a paw her ruffled his sons mane slightly with a smirk on his face. "Then you can tell me all about your journey."
With that said Kimeti left no room for argument as he turned his bulking form away from his son and slave. Instead of returning to the rocks, Kimeti sauntered out into the desert towards the oasis to quench his sandy throat.
((OOC: Short but it get Kimeti out of the way for you to continue.))

No listened reflectively as the two males spoke- and after it became apparent that Kimeti was leaving, she rose her neck upwards to gaze at the king as he walked off. Her whiskers perked forwards as she quietly considered him. Despite everything- he did not seem to dislike his son. Even tied up in tradition and practice, there was something good in him. Surely he was an exemplary firekin- and perhaps, some hint of what Kidondo would become as an adult.
As soon as the king appeared both out of earshot and considerable eye range- No twisted her head towards Kidondo and settled her whiskers. “That went well.” She commented. It had- but there was still a touch of humor to her voice.

"Very well." Kidondo tippe dhis head again, "I would very much like to meet with the others and talk with you in a more private manner." He flicked his eyes to No, briefly, then watched as his father left, his great shape fading amongst the sea of gold.
He was almost startled when he heard No's voice and turned to her, reaching out to rub his face against the side of her head.
"Agreed." He smiled very slightly, "You make a wonderful slave." And there was a teasing note in the male's usually bland voice.
"Come on, I'll show you to the dens and let you get settled. This is where the hard part starts." He began to move off across the sands, feeling his heart rise a little. This would be hard but it wouldn't be impossible.

No’s eyebrows arched humorously, and she shook her head as he rubbed his against hers. “Ah,” She pursed. “No in the role she was born to play.” She trailed off haphazardly, an amused smirk pulled across her face. She decided she’d have to get her fill of less then subservient facial expressions- from now on, she’d be acting far more demure then perhaps most people thought possible.
But the black cat wasn’t an impatient one. She had an ego, but little problem swallowing it down. In time, they’d know No was no slave. For now, she’d play the game to further the sting when it was found out. “Most things that are worth doing end up being hard.” No remarked, but she was eager to get down to business.
“Take me there then,” She decided. “I’ll settle in and see what I can see. We'll meet back later then, and see how the situation stands.”
