He remained silent throughout, not wanting to butt in where it wasn't his place. However Kidondo did listen with intensity, his strange eyes passing over the faces of these lions. He had always been the silent observer, loving to learn by simply sitting back and watching. This was one of those times.
His heart twinged at the mutual love between this little group and he could not help but feel a twinge of grief at his own situation. To his father he was an heir, and to his mother he was unreachable, trapped by status. Kidondo may have appeared somewhat emotionless on the outside but on the inside he was full of feelings. Each one swept through him with incredible intensity and yet never once escaped.
He would never cry, never laugh aloud. Even smiles came difficult to this Firekin child, though since being with No they were starting to come easier.
In fact he smiled a little now as he watched No's sleek black form shine beneath the sun. She was of royal descent also? He had to admit he wasn't surprised. She held herself like a queen and she did indeed have an aura of respect about her. Even he felt awed in her presence at times.
"I cannot promise you much but I can promise you this." He paused, glancing up into the face of the dark-pelted female. "I will protect her with my life. You have my word."

No listened fondly as her mother spoke. She knew the name Mosi- but this was the first time she’d ever heard it applied to someone who wasn’t her niece. She was named after someone? But speaking of this male seemed to settle Ausi. There wasn’t anger here, and she was glad she would not be scolded for being childish, or trying to abandon them. But with five other children, grandchildren, and numerous other family members- No didn’t worry about mother, or anyone. Even Xu, who since the death of the King, everyone seemed to be a bit protective over. She knew they could handle themselves.
But what she said about royalty- it seemed so out of the blue? Mother had always mentioned that father had been a prince, but not the heir- but mother too? Had she been younger, it would have been something she would have delighted over and probably lorded over everyone else- even if it really meant nothing. No smiled and shook her head, as if it had been a light poke.
It had never occurred to her how little she knew about her parents before. Perhaps they understood more about No then she ever thought.
Her dull green eyes moved towards Kidondo as he spoke, and a faint quirk appeared in her smile. She wasn’t always a trusting creature- in fact, even now, she was still suspicious of Nuri although she now respected her immensely. But everything Kidondo said never brought suspicion. She’d follow that anywhere.
Her head bowed, and carefully she approached her mother, and pressed the crown of her head against hers. "There's a lot I don't know about you, Mother." She admitted. "But please don't worry."
