My band performed at the NYSSMA Majors festival on Wednesday afternoon. We got a gold, which was way better than we did at our festival in Toronto last year. :x I think our pieces were Level IV this year. We should be higher. sad
We played "Coast Guards March," "Adagio for Winds," and "On The Wings of Swallows." Everyone seems to hate the adagio pieces; am I the only one who actually enjoys them? sweatdrop

2. orpheus in the under world (you may kno it as the can can)
3. and Snow bows tinsel and toys!
im only on my second year at being a violinist so i might not be as good as alot of ppl here.

The FCMS Band is playing crap comared to our other years. we alwasys win festival tho... we have a new Director/ Conductor (w/e!) this year and hes a fat loser and makes us play sissy songs. here are our songs:
-Nathan Hale Trilogy
-Sun Dance
and idk wat our third is i think its
-Night on Bald Mountain
but i doubt it tho. there good songs but they dont really test us....

What IS festival? *Feels stupid* sweatdrop Festival is basically a non competitive competition where bands/orchestras go to get adjudicated and rated on a scale of I think 4-1 with 1 being the best (superior).

My band director is kinda dumb, but thats why I love him! He hasn't really decided what we're going to play, even though some of those people need a lot of practice since we always go in grade 6.
So far we have:
1. Beowulf
2. Hymn of the Highlands
3. Symphony #3 - Slavyanskaya
4. The Helm Toccata
5. Othello
6. The Freelance march (The only one we're for sure palying)
7. El Camino Real
8. Symphony #4 Finale
Talk about an epic failure....And he said he had it narrowed down to 3 peices....then he just kept giving us music saying "Well, I just keep finding more and more that I like and think we could play ^^"
Bleh.....
