Entreri didn't laugh, didn't even move a muscle even for the fact he now had a dark smirk across his face as he held the stallions gaze. " i only give my name to those who ask for it, others im nothign but shall we say a strange stalion who wears a cloak. you asumed i would just be passing by, but thats not always the case once an encounter is made so it be wise to never asume something." the pause that the other stallion had when responign to his statement about the closenes, stood out and Entreri didn't miss a chance to call on it. " did you deliberatly pause in that statement or did you have to choose your words carefully befor eyou could finish it? and i must disagree, likeling and dislikeing has everythgn to do with it. saying im in your personal space only proves it and they way you back up jsut now tells even more." still holding that dark smirk, he was usualy always a step ahead of anyone when it came to tryign to out witt which he used to his advatage in this case adn in fights.

Mental twitch mental twitch mental twitch. WHY did his solitude have to be broached by one so...so...disturbing? This was beyond unfair, this was inhumanly cruel. But he was NOT going to freak out like he had last time.
Much as he disliked the sardonic smirk on the dark stallion's face, he had to admit that the look suited one with his coloring. It gave him an edge, albeit in a smug 'I'm superior to you so deal with it' fashion, and Safi was finding it increadingly hard to deal with his closeness.
But that didn't mean he would cave! Smiling in a pleasant but cold fashion himself, Safi bowed his head slightly at Entreri's 'introduction'. "Fair enough. I had hoped things would be kept short, but as you so quaintly put it things can change at the drop of a hat." He didn't offer his own name, nor did he ask for any clarification on the part of the other stallion. It was best to keep things impersonal in situations like this, or as impersonal as possible.
"And I paused to simply phrase things in the neatest and most umcomplicated terms possible. But you want frank? Fine, let me be frank with you. I don't want you getting close to me. I don't like having you close to me. And since I don't believe in engaging in fights over trivial matters like distance, I felt backing up would be the best avenue for all involved, especially me." Whoops. Well, that last bit didn't matter much anyway.

oh so the stallion was now smiling but it seemed so cold and it also seemed to appear unfased but what he said. but he knew better and so for no reason at lest that howit was to apear hegave a slight bow with he wings slightly stretch and after lifting from it he returned his wings to his side. " oh and shal i offer an apology for such rudeness from myself tohave blantly stepped into that personal space since you now so kind showed now my thoughts where correct." the smirk was no where on his face but oh he would have and so far he felt he was in nothign but in control of what was going on between the two right now. " what would you say if i where to say that backing up jester in my eyes is a sigh of weakness? and that to me right now, your nothing but weak, both mind a body just by simply doing what i can anticapte you doing from just the breif meeting right now?" yes he waskeepng things impersonal atlest towards himself, but he was going to push this stallion til he ether left or tried to force him to leave which he figured this stallion would leave first.

Safi didn't often get annoyed. He was one of those types that laughed things off, that actively teased the types that took everything seriously. But then, in most circumstances he wasn't having an acute case of inner turmoil, and given that fact...he was annoyed. What was it with this stallion, anyway? Did he get his kicks out of being a total a**? Harrumph.
Safi refused to play his game, though, and merely kept smiling. "No need to apologize; you can't help but behave as you were meant." Which seemed to be like an a**, and a pompous one at that. "And why would it matter to me one whit what you think? Unlike some, I've never made any bones about the fact I'm physically weak. And I don't have enough of an ego to lie for the sake of 'saving face'."
One only had to look at the hard body on the other stallion to know he could wipe the floor with Safi in the blink of an eye; Safi wasn't stupid, and he wasn't going to claim otherwise. Like it mattered to him what the other stallion said or did; at the end of the day, he'd (hopefully) never see him again. "You can call me weak, or a jester, or anything else, but the words of another only inflict as much pain as they're willing to allow." And frankly, the other stallion could say whatever the hell he wanted, as long as he stayed away.

They way he spoke never match they way he worded things which in turn you could figure out he could be a totally sly jerk but that was beside the point. It was almost a gift that Entreri had for being able to piss anyone off with the slip of a snide remark. “Oh is that what you really think about how words can affect you? And true what would it matter to you what another thinks. But isn’t it the case that most would care what others think or appear to another." this time he took one step forward and rather slowly. " I’m pretty sure your just putting up a front since i think your trying to defy something that you know its true, whatever it may be." yet again he took another step. “But again what do I know, I’m nothing but a rude, strange that just making snide remarks am I wrong?"

I think your trying to defy something that you know is true...
Safi had been all set to answer back the other stallion; the arrogance and superiority in his tone and stance were enough to upset even the most even-tempered of Soquilis, and he certainly was right; most Soquilis DID care about the opinions of others, it's jst that Safi wasn't most other Soquilis. But everything else flew from his mind when that one phrase was uttered.
All sense of composure fled. Safi staggered back a step, his eyes wide with shock as he stared down at the ground, mind racing.
Trying to defy something you know is true...that you know is true...that you know is true...
Words, words, he couldn't escape from the words, entrenched as they were in his brain. Something you know is true...
No, he DIDN'T know it was true! He didn't know, didn't even think it! Yet he couldn't get it out of his mind, couldn't get the words out of his mind! Branded into his consciousness as with a hot iron, they just kept repeating over, and over, and over.
No...no...NO!

Entreri didn't let the sly dark smirk come to his face no matter how much he wanted to let it come. he had finaly sparked something that caused the other to lose composure adn he did it using such simple words. not moving a step, he stood in place and you can not deny that fact because they way you staggered back and haven't spoken a retort just shows it all the more. " you just proved that something just as simple as a word cause affect you." there wasnt anything else need to say to prove that what he said had been true. rufflign his feathers to smooth them out, ths time he jsut waited to see what this stallion might say to him now. specialy with what he just did and he just only met him.

At the moment, the dark stallion could have said just about anything; he could have kicked him, cursed him, punched him...he could have done or said virtually anything and it wouldn't have registered. Everything the other stallion had said was falling on deaf ears; the only voices he could hear were the ones echoing in his mind.
Deny what you know is true
Images flashed before his mind. Zaphiro, tossing his mane and laughing. Guilian, winking and adjusting his rose. Anubis, quirking a brow before cracking up. Micah winking, Jean-Claude shaking his head, Khairi sighing...Duo. Duo smiling, Duo laughing, Duo looking at him in concern...even the unnamed dark stallion, smiling sardonically.
Images of stallions in his past, in his present, in his life...stallions that he'd known, that he'd spent time with, that he'd been around...and that he'd been attracted to. That he'd wanted to touch, to nuzzle, to simply be content with. He saw the fateful day, so recently passed, when Duo had touched him and set his senses aflame, saw the puzzlement in the eyes of his own reflection and the eyes of his friends.
The faces and figures of the stallions gave way, becoming the faces of the mares he'd known. Shaylee sticking her tongue out at him and flinging water in his face, Aruna crying on his shoulder, Firefly laughing at his turn of phrase, Kimi teasing him about his availability, Inali...Inali staring at him in shock after they'd had sex...then laughing and forgiving him later, when they agreed to be friends. Selene.
Selene. The mare that was closer to him than all others, that he shared his secrets with and listened to hers, the one who was willing to bring him around to meet her teepeemates, who teased him, taunted him, showed him affection, even felt safe enough with him to trust him with her daughter, her most precious possesion.
He loved her. He knew he loved her, loved her dearly. But that love...it was like the love he felt for his family, for his brother and neice and nephew; total affection, willingness to do anything to protect them...but never had he been attracted to her. He knew that, and it pained him; had pained him ever since he realized it. She was a beautiful mares, perhaps the lovliest he'd ever seen..but he didn't desire her.
He didn't desire any of them. He loved them, but it was platonic love at it's finest. He cared for them, listened to their problems, wanted them to be happy...but it wasn't with him, would never be with him.
Stallions...it was stallions he was drawn to, desired, adored.
He was gay.

It seemed there was truly nothing else he could say or do now that he caused the other to simply go dead silent and zone out over what he had said to him. Not many had the talent like Enterei to be able to read body language and to be able to read almost right through someone and pick them apart like he just had done with this stallion before him. If anything Entreri decided that he now should leave as this stallion had zone out and was not talking. “I shall take my leave now but I’ll leave you with my name if you actually aren't zoned out enough to hear it. my name it's Artemis Entreri." with that said, there was nothing else and so he turned away, he cape whirling around him as he did so, and he took off leaving the stallion behind as if nothing happened.

Whether or not the name would be remembered later would remain to be seen. For now, Safi was simply too wound up in his own thoughts to realize what was going, to care...or even to stand. Collapsing by the side of the water, Safi ran a wing over his face, then turned to meet the eyes of his reflection in the river. Golden eyes stared back at him, just like always; only something had changed.
And now, nothing would ever be the same.
