joy division is the best. There is a movie coming out about them that i want to purchase.

Joy Division was the first old school goth band I ever listened to. I will always love them.

The Joy Division documentary is opening in New York this weekend. 3nodding
No word on a general theatrical release yet though.

Joy Division are over rated and needed to CHEER THE HELL UP!
Ian Curtis was made into another false messiah... the archetype for what Cobain is. Seriously people, don't buy the hype, the synth thing was done much better by Gary Numen anyway.

Rellik San Ian Curtis was made into another false messiah... the archetype for what Cobain is. Perhaps Maynard is to follow?
Anyway, Closer is a great album. Definetly THE sound of goth. "Decades" is oddly addictive.

Kostbarer Alptraum Anyway, Closer is a great album. Definetly THE sound of goth. Closer was pretty huge in terms of impact on the goth sound... though really, I still argue that goth wouldn't exist without Bela Lugosi's Dead, and that wouldn't exist with Joy Division's "Shadowplay".

That Ian Curtis is one lazy b*****d. He hasn't put out an album in years!

Actually didn't goth have its roots in New Romanticism rather then early electronica?

I have the albums Still, Substance and Closer... I enjoy specially Substance, there are many great songs.
