I like Barnes & Noble. Ours has a bigger manga section than our Borders, and it has a yummy cafe. Coffee + books = win.
All in all though, I vote BOTH. Because I'm a rabid drooling zombie when it comes to bookstores of any sort.

It's Chapters for me. The one near me has a Starbucks too so it's nice to have hot chocolate and a new book. It's love.

Unfortunately, I only have a Barnes & Noble nearby currently. And it's in another state, fifty miles away. gonk
But I grew up next to a Borders, so I know what it's like. To me, they're the same.
What I really love are used book shops. You can find some -great- deals there, and the books are never in absolutely terrible condition. [:

I live near both, Barnes & Borders, but I have just discovered a great bookstore in NYC. It's called Strand Bookstore and they have 18 miles of books! surprised (Well, that's what they say on their tote bags anyways.) I prefer Strand to Borders because Strand always has big discounts, but if I had to choose between B&N and Borders, it would probably be Borders because I have the rewards card. whee

I was even thinking about what are you talking.. lol (I remember that country from Geography last year! >.<) I'm sorry. Well what big chain bookstores do you have? Or do you even have any big chain bookstores? is there only little non-chain book stores? I don't know anything about shopping in Europe. confused ...I just confused myself.

Where I used to live, it was always Borders, since it was within walking distance. But where I live now, the nearest Barnes or Borders is... Vegas. And even that's like, 50 miles away. *slams head* Oh well, they're cheaper at the thrift store anyway sweatdrop

I used to live by a Barnes, but then we moved, but only about 45 minutes away( I still go there whenever possible). Now, the only bookstore that I know of by me is Walden books, which is off of Borders, but not nearly as big, and with less selection. I've only been in a real Borders once, so I'm going to have to go with Barnes(oh, and you can't forget the Starbucks xd ).

Our Borders is way too far to go to on a regular basis, but I like them a lot better than B&N

Well there is not Barnes & Nobles around here but there is a Borders and Walden Books about 30 minutes from my home. Borders has a better selection but Walden Books often has better deals

I love Borders, it has a really good manga section! When I go to B&N I always have trouble finding books that I like, its either kiddy books of sleezy love novels, with one shelf of teen/young adult books. I don't know, maybe my B&N just sucks?

Borders is more near to where I live, and within walking distance. So, that's where I tend to start first. If I'm near a Barnes&Noble though, it makes little difference to me.
