"Good idea," smiled Koosh as she prepared her group for travel. After ensuring that Pitch was in a position where he would be least likely to fall from the carriage and making sure Alouette was all tucked in she turned the stroller around to face the direction they were traveling in.

In response to Xana's conversation Ally stared back at the boy. When he pulled a face she smiled- how funny it looked! Pitch on the other hand was not content sitting in the stroller and, after Koosh looked away, returned to the edge of the vehicle. He hadn't learned his lesson from before.

"Anemone," Koosh repeated. "Is that also the Annie you were talking of before?" she asked in attempt to piece all the names from the conversation together. Remembering the castles story Cressida had shared only a few minutes earlier Koosh grinned, "She sounds like quite the character!"

Unsure of whether Cressida had a certain cafe in mind Koosh waited to follow her lead.

"Oh, she certainly is. My Leon brought her home from a book, too." Reaching down, Cressida took Xana's hand and began the slow, stilted walk of someone matching pace with a toddler's short legs. "Her little beastie is named Terror and looks like a mad little dragon thing. She has fins and doesn't like to keep her clothing on at all. She's my little naiad."

Courage took up post midway between his Forgotten and the stroller, every now and then looking back as if to make sure they were following.

Pushing her stroller to match the pace Cressida had taken Koosh chuckled, "Goodness! Anemone's clothes habit sounds almost the opposite of little Alouette, here. She's quite the fan of this big coat and I can tell she's going to be the girl trying on mommy's heels." A question popping into her mind Koosh asked, "So do you know what exactly these book-born kids are called?"

Peering down at the stroller Koosh could see Pitch's little head peeking out of the side, eager to watch the landmarks whiz by. Ally, on the other hand, sat contentedly. She had seen all of this stuff when the three had come toward the house. There was no need to see it again.

"Puchiko told me they were Forgotten Documents and their animals," Cressida paused and giggled, eyes dancing merrily over to glance at Pitch, "are their daemons. I'm not quite sure what that all means but I -do- know that Xana hates to be parted from Courage. He gets so upset that we haven't really tried anything more drastic than putting Courage outside the bathroom door during bathtime."

Quixana suddenly stuck out his tongue. "Ick," he announced. "No bath." He paused and then, generously, added, "Aloo can have bath."

"Forgotten Documents and daemons," Koosheeka smiled. It was nice to hear information about the two new additions to her family. After all, any information Cressida could provide was new information to Koosh. "Separation..." muttered Koosh, then her face brightened, "which would explain why these two wouldn't stop crying until I let them sleep in the same bed together!"

"Guuuuu," spluttered Alouette, utterly bored. Noticing Pitch's tail in her face she lightly batted at the reel of negatives. Playing along, Pitch maneuvered his tail, narrowly escaping the baby's fists each time she took a swipe.

Escaping his mother's hand, Quixana moved to walk beside the stroller as honor guard. He laughed as Alouette missed Pitch's tail again. "Pitch's a good doggie," he offered by way of conversation. "'Cept not a doggie. Pitch is..."

Courage moved to stand on Xana's other side, her Forgotten between her and the other daemon. Like the movies Mommy and Daddy show us, remember? she suggested to him.

"He's got poppy corn for eyes."

So much talking, Ally wanted to join in, too! "Pihhhh!" She beamed, proud that she had mimicked the sound. In fact, she was so proud that she wanted to share her success with her companion. Leaning forward she wrapped her arms around Pitch's frail body and smothered him in a hug. "Pihhhh!" She squealed, again.

Pitch, on the other hand, was certainly not having a ball with this strangling business and, with enough wriggling, found himself free of Ally's grasp. Back at the edge of the stroller he reached his popcorn eyes toward Xana, the only one who had gone unexamined.

Koosh, merely the spectator giggled at her daughter's attempts at speaking, "Looks like she wants to be part of the conversation!" Turning to Cressida Koosh added, "So how long did it take for Xana to start speaking pretty well? A couple years?" She was curious how the Forgotten aged.

Cressida looked thoughtful for a moment at the question, eyes absently tracking her son's position beside the stroller. He was avoiding touching Pitch but he seemed more than willing to let the daemon inspect him. "I haven't had him since the beginning," she admitted quietly, careful to keep her voice pitched low enough that Quixana was not distracted from his play. "He originally belonged to another woman named Puchiko and I'm not sure how long she had him. He's been mine for a few months now and he started talking shortly before Christmas."

Koosh bit her lip, Why do I always have to touch upon the sensitive subjects? she chided herself. Matching Cressida's pitch, more out of instinct than reason, Koosh said, "So a fairly normal process? No sudden growth on a given day?"

Pitch sniffed Xana's hand and, with a satisfactory prod on the boy's finger, retreated back to the stroller. Pitch was not sizing up the people, in fact he drew no conclusions from these inspections. Rather he had a curiousity that had to be fed and feed it he did.

She had been in this stroller too long and she wanted to play with the new, nice boy! So it was decided, Ally held her arms toward Xana and began to pout.

((*dies giggling* Towards Quixana, Koosh! Not Walter.))

Cheerfully, Quixana took one of Alouette's hands and squeezed it in his own. Then, awkwardly because Koosh had not stopped moving, he kissed the back of her hand. "Aloo," he announced. "Lady Aloo."

Catching sight of the chivalrous little gesture, Cressida suddenly stopped dead in tracks and, despite being a grown woman, cooed in delight. "Oh, Quixana! Aren't you just the little gentleman?" He looked up and beamed at her. Then he returned to swinging Alouette's hand as they walked. Cressida quickly doubled her pace to stay beside Koosh again and shook her head. "He completely wraps me about his finger, honestly. It's horrible."

Then she made a delicate little gasp. "Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't answer your question. Yes. Yes, there was kind of a growth spurt there one day. Luckily, his clothing seemed to grow right along with him!"

((Eeep! What was going through my silly head?! Sorry 'bout that!))

Ally giggled as Quixana kissed the back of her hand. And, upon the title in front of her name squealed. Whatever it was, it sounded good! Beaming at Xana she squeezed his hand back. Only seconds ago threatening to pout and now what a happy girl she was!

While Koosh did not stop the stroller's locomotion, her heart did just about melt. What a gentleman this boy was! "Goodness, what a darling," fawned Koosh as well. "I can't blame you. If he were mine, I don't think I'd ever be able to punish him."

"Does that mean I'm never going to get her out of that heavy coat?" Koosh joked as she continued to push the stroller. Speaking of which, she'd been pushing this thing for what seemed to be a long time. "Are we almost at the cafe?" She asked for the sake of curiousity.

"Right there!" Pointing, Cressida indicated the pink and white striped awning just in front of them. "They make the best cookies. Xana can eat a half dozen easily. Maybe that's why he had the growth spurt like that."

Quixana skipped ahead and went on tiptoes to try and reach the handle. Unable to, he grimaced and then motioned Courage over to help. Courage gave a rumbly laugh and went on her hind legs, trying to clutch at the handle.

"You two! Stop that." Unable to help herself, Cressida giggled. "That's one of his new things," she explained. "He sees Leon get doors for me all the time so he thinks he should do it, too."

"Oh, what a cute little place!" She commented. "I've never been here before." Chuckling slightly at Xana's attempts she moved to the handle and opened the door. However she didn't steal all of Xana's fun. "Here, now you can hold it open for all of us so the door doesn't hit us when we walk through." She smiled and returned to the stroller.

Alouette clapped upon seeing the new restaurant. A scenery change! And perhaps the Koosh lady would finally let her out of this vehicle.

Quixana beamed with pride and did exactly as Koosh suggested, throwing his minimal weight against the door to keep it propped open. Courage leant her own weight and so, the adults and stroller-bound child and daemon made it safely indoors. Then there was a heavy pause as Quixana screwed up his face, trying to work out how he could release the door and slip in before it closed. As he he was thinking, Courage laughed inside his head and took the decision out of his hands with a swift push of her paw, shoving him in ahead of her before she moved inside. The door nearly caught her tail and she squeaked.

Cressida turned and smiled down at her charges. "Alright, you two? Come on then, darlings."

Nodding, Quixana again buried his hand in the soft fur at Courage's neck and trotted along after the others. "Cookies, Mommy?" he asked.

"Yes, Quixana. Cookies."

Taking the stroller to a cozy little corner of the room she parked it at a table, finally unbuckled Alouette from the contraption, and... fell short of absolutely freeing Ally. Waiting for the rest of the group to join her at the table Koosh stood up and said, "Cookies... is there anything else you'd like?" Smiling she added, "It's on me, it's the least I can do for all of your help this afternoon."

So close to freedom! For the time being Ally amused herself by drawing designs with her pudgy finger in the sky. Mid-circle, however, she noticed that Pitch had snuck his way out of the stroller and was now standing atop the table, examining the cafe.
