Xantir stared at her then shook his head and bowed to get a second drink. Why was it that talking always made one thirsty? Lifting his head he swallowed ignoring the bit of water that clung to his muzzle in small beads. "No thanks...I was really only here for a drink. I've still got to go search for some food..." He bowed his head and turned around wondering where he could find food. The patch he had been eating from had been picked dry yesterday.
Letting out a sigh he shrugged and flicked his tail before heading off up stream. "Maybe I'll see you around Rainbow Chaser..." He muttered keeping his eyes trained for anything green peeking out of the snow. "When I get something to eat..."

Chaser gave a bit of a shrug as she nodded"Alright maybe another time"She watched as he was determind to find some food as she rolled her eyes as she watched him...she flicked her tail as she looked at the river and looked at her eyes as she frowned again man she wasn't a happy camper today...was she! She gva e a sigh as she turned
His search for food made her shake her head as she looked back at him"Alright I will see you around soon I guess?" She shook her head more as she watched him ssearch more as she sighed"Why don't you kick the snow?The grass in underneath it"She turned as she gave a quick snort as she slowly walked away waiting for some mean remark like Bairn always gave her she rolled her eyes once more as she continued

"That can kill the grass..." He said halting to turn and look at her. She had seemed rather kind but this made her also seem a bit thought less. Xantir would never kill the grass, then there wouldn't be enough food to go around as it was in his old home. "I thought you would realize that." He gave a short nod then continued down the river path. He assumed that doing that once wouldn't do that much damage but if everyone thought that way it would only be a few years until they were in such a horrid state.
Not a foot away he saw a bit of green. Without hesitation he crossed into the ankle deep snow and nipped up the tiny mouthful of breakfast. "Only 20 more of these..." He muttered searching the are quickly before returning to the river, there was probably a better chance to find food over there. Taking a deep breath he plunged into the frigid water. It wasn't very deep but it was rather painful, like tiny versions of his spikes were being shoved into him.
He grunted a bit in pain but continued across looking at the mare the whole way. "I don't recommend that..." He huffed before heaving himself onto the other side. He shivered before shaking off as much of the liquid as he could.

Chaser turned to him seeing that he stepped in the river...he must have been freezing. Chaser walked towards him with a bit of a sound like a snort and a laugh but she couldn't help it...that was a pretty dumb move. She walked over to him with a concerned look"Your soaking Xan!Wha-what were you thinking you could get a cold!"Chaser was a bit concerned she didn't want him to get sick
She looked at him her eyes soft but her vioce so angered she gave a huff as she watched him then she gave a slight smile"Are you trying to get sick?If you are really hungry follow me to the forest and get the grass from nder the trees there's more there"She shook her head with a slight laugh was he really going to try and find it out in the plains?She watched him as she looked at his eyes
She watched as the water dripped off of him she shook her head again as she let out a small sigh of concern"Do you want me to share my body heat with you?I don't want you getting sick!"She remeberd when her and Shihab were freezing and they sood next to eachother and she got quite warm as they stood there she gave another little laugh then a fiant smile

"I'm not going to get sick..."He said a faint smile playing at the corners of his mouth. He hadn't been treated like this by anyone before but he had seen it happen. It was something between mothers and their offspring and it was something he had never had. "But if you know where food is, that would be great..." He straightened up a bit and shook his mane to get the stray hairs out of his face so he could see. The smile had vanished from his mouth though it still lit his eyes making them even brighter then before, like stars.
A cold wind blew and he subconsciously stepped closer to the cinnamon colored mare. It was colder now, but he'd have to deal with it. "I think I know the way to the forest though..." He grinned then trotted off not realizing that his steps were slower then usual. He felt strangely heavy but he blamed the water for that. It was also the waters fault that he seemed to be stumbling.

Chaser gave him a slight smile as she follower him she shook her mane as yes she was concerned about getting him sick she gave a little laugh before she spoke to him"Alright I won't argue with you but if you do get sick...I get to say I told you so" a sly grin ran across her face as she walked a bit behind him her crystal blue eyes sparkled against the snow. She shook her mane again
Chaser knew her way to the forest quite well she was in there most of the time relaxing from what happened with Micah...she didn't care that flirt with his rocky lynn her eyes shifted back on Xantir with a slight yawn this was quite the interesting day if she thought about it. Her pink hooves kicked up some snow as she walked a bit behind him...he looked freezing which yet again concerned her she rolled her eyes at herself as she watched him. He seemed to smile more and more as they spoke which was good..he was a kind soquili he just had a different outlook on the world

Xantir rolled his eyes skyward, "Yeah...you go ahead and do that. It's not like it will matter in the least..." He didn't understand her at all, saying things like that was simply pointless. If he did get sick and she pointed it out then that she was just being dumb, the sickness would be obvious. If one wanted to make an impression it would be wiser to just help him recover not point out what was already known.
Each step he took sent pained shivers up his legs. He cursed the spikes in his legs that made his ankles hypersensitive and he swore that one day he'd find a way to remove them. Right now, though, they would have to stay an annoyance. Looking up he could see the trees in the distance gaining in size. They were getting closer and he was glad. His stomach hadn't stopped complaining since his morning drink.

Chaser rolled her eyes again as she could see that he was determind for food...whcih was like the only thing on his mind.She rolled her eyes again as she walked behind they were approching the forest. She kept taking her steps quietly as she shook her mane with a slight huff as she looked up.Everything was already familiar to her but why not let him lead the way right? She shivered a bit but shook it off...I mean Xantir was covered in water so why was she cold? She shook the thought out of her head as she gave a sigh. She walked beside now for the forest wasn't much farther away.
The silence of them both surronded her but she kept it that way..like he said earlier sometimes it better to be quiet...or he said something like that. When they reached the inside of the forest she smiled as she looked under the trees seeing specks of grass everywhere but some still in the snow. Her crystal blue eyes stayed away from his gaze as she watched the the snow drip from the leaves. Her mane blew some in the wind as did her tail lightly brushing against her fur. She gave a little cough as she kept the silence it was kind of peaceful...she wasn't used to this...not at all. Her eyes watched the water drip to keep her sight off Xantir he seemed to hate being looked at. Snow was kicked from her back hoof to her tail as she grumbled....the snow was ok but it could be the most annoying thing on the planet if you had to much of it...

As Xantir ducked into the forest he shook off a few of the frozen droplets that clung to his back. Making his way away from Chaser he kneeled down to a tree and nipped up a decent amount of the still green food. Raising his head as he chewed he looked around at the surroundings. Every drip from every leaf seemed to be some kind of music. It made the place seem, magical.
He chuckled to himself before bowing down to get a second mouthful. He was being foolish, there was no reason why magic would chose such a place to bless, or was there? True these lands were different but was that bad? No. It was relaxing here, it was cold, but it was peaceful and there didn't seem to be any wars to fight. The corner of his mouth turned up as he turned to look at the mare who had followed him all the way here. "Is water that interesting?" He asked raising an eyebrow. He had thought she was strange before but that was just bizarre.

Chaser shruged at his question he had just broken the silence which shocked her a bit she shook her head as she sighed"I guess I was just looking..."She flipped her mane as she watched him eat hopfully he was going to be happy and fully fed her crystal blue eyes shifted towards the sky as she stayed in her spot she gave a slight smile"Enjoying your food?" She turned her eyes back to him waiting for a response she yawned waiting.
The walk here was an interesting one so quiet and boring yet she seemed to enjoy the quiet of the walk. Her crystal blue eyes watched him for a bit as she shuffled looking down at her pink hooves...they were so different but she shook her head not paying attention to Xantir.She gave a huff as she saw her breath it was getting colder, she flicked her tail trying to get the clumps of snow off. Her flowers drooped some before she flicked her ear to keep them up...sje didn't want to loose them in this weather...surly they would die just like some of the grass had.

"You know it..." He said after swallowing another mouthful. He licked his lips a bit and grinned satisfied with his meal. As he looked up his eyes landed on Chaser and suddenly he realized he had nothing to use as a distraction anymore. Aside from his meals he didn't have anything planned and that meant he'd have to talk normally. The thought made him shudder though with the temperature dropping it could have been he was only cold.
"Rainbow Chaser you should probably head home. I get the feeling a storm's coming..." He didn't really figure that she would leave but if she did then he could find him self a place to dry and wait out the cold. Perhaps he could find his old hiding place in the woods though he wasn't sure if it was now being occupied or where it was anymore. Letting out a sigh again he watched as his breath formed a cloud before his face. How big of a storm were they looking at?

Chaser gave a small chuckle when he swallowed his food she breathed seeing her own breath again as she gave a frown as it blocked her face she nodded as she turned and flipped her mane as she spoke lightly"Yeah I guess I should be going shouldn't I" she slowly walked away from him as she gave a shutter, her mane blwe with the wind as she walked. She then stopped herself
She turned to look back at him with a smirk she said slightly"Hey don't get sick alright,keep yourself warm" She gave a smile as she turned and continued out of the forest she gave a sigh and a faint smile ran across her face as she walked away. Her tail swished back and forth as she left she gave a slight sigh as she looked back. She was some distance away she yelled to him"Bye Xantir!Maybe we will meet again" She then continued to walk off without another word said

"Sure we will," Xantir nodded giving a slight smile. Good, she was leaving so she'd be safe. That was a first. Xantir had only really cared about one person's safety before and now he didn't know where she was. Forcing the thought from his mind he turned to walk deeper into the woods in search of a safe haven.
After searching for a few minutes he found what he was looking for. A pile of rocks with just enough room for him. Turning around he backed into the small shelter so that only his muzzle was protruding. This would work perfectly and once he was dry if it wasn't storming perhaps he'd go out and explore a bit. Find some more places for food so he wouldn't need to rely on others anymore.
