Entry I
The clicking of her stilettos broke the silence of the night. From the mist you could see the outline of a busty young woman, hair blowing like smoke. However, her age deceived most. Iyemina was not a young woman at all, but in fact around 475 years old. Yet her heart beat as if she was still a healthy young child. Mina, as her friends called her, was strangely doll and child like. One minute she believed one thing, the next another. Her trust lied only in one other, and it was not in her brother.
It was unbearably cold this night, and Iyemina's teeth were chattering. She shivered, wondering if parts of her had been frozen to the bone yet. Even though she was not purely human, the same restrictions were on her body, too, for the most part.
Quickly, she ran into an abandoned building. Water was falling to the floor on the fifth story, and Mina was quick to find a bucket and place under it. Ping. Ping. Iyemina ran around the floors, pulling down moldy wooden shelves, and anything else wooden in unmendable condition. Carrying it up three flights, she spotted something moving in the corner. Waiting a moment, Iyemina took shallow breaths, which were visible thanks to an open window. Suddenly, it ran under her feet. Ew. A rat.
A flame arose from her finger, and she placed it on the pile of wood, sitting my the bucket catching water. Mina bent over, warming her hands and feet. Everything seemed to be fine, no frostbite. That's good, compared to what could have happened. Now to close that window. At an average pace, she graced down the stairs to the window. Iyemina's eyes widened when it appeared someone had already shut the window. I do not think a rat could do that. A chill went down her spine. 'Hope my fire is still going. I hope no one was kind enough to put it out for me.

Entry II
Iyemina walked the morning streets of a small town just outside of London, with dew still fresh on the ground. Her eyes quickly darted from left to right, taking notice of her surroundings. More importantly, if she saw anyone coming her way, she hoped that she would be ahead in finding a place to hide. She wore her traditional outfit, which happened to be quite revealing. It embarrassed her a bit during these times, but Mina was in a hurry and had no time to worry about how she looked.
As the sun rose to a certain point, Iyemina began to quicken her pace. She breathed heavily, as if she had not moved so fast in years. However, that was not the case. The usual strange sorrow was being herself- strange. Something was bothering her. Mina's long, dark brown seemed to flow carelessly behind her; it was a wonder why she never got huge tangles. A slight breeze began to blow, only encouraging it, yet it cooled the sorrows tired body.
Finally after a time, she reached an old abandoned library. The doors were at first reluctant to let her in, but after she learned no one had been around this part in almost half a century, she kicked them in. Iyemina was quick to find the books she wanted, and placed them on a table. She opened one, and began to read. Then a random thought came to mind.
Such a shame they have let this place down...
...but it is good for me, and for my assignment.

Entry III
Smoke. Ash. Fire. All of which you could say aided in making Iyemina and Tristan. Besides the "pure life force, an emotion manifestation/catalyst, and a phrase or pair of words," there was also the magic of the azoth. But....was there more involved?
Iyemina often pondered this, as she strode from one building to another, looking for a place to stay. It was cold outside, and it was just after Christmas*. The decorations were still on many of the buildings, including the one she had decided to stay in.
It also had a large clock on the front, something Iyemina almost always required when it came to a place to spend the evening. Unlike most buildings she had resided in, this one must have just recently been abandoned, because there was little to no dust. Everything was still in there as well, including some fine furniture in one room. This room would be the one our Sorrow would stay in.
She laid her brush on a vanity, and placed her bag by a dresser. Mina hit the bed with a thud, and she stretched out on it. Her fingers wiggled through her hair, then she brought them back down to lay beside her on the bed. She shut her eyes, thinking of something....or someone.
Perhaps she should go out on the balcony?

Entry IV
A bell off in the distance chimed twelve. The sun was high in the sky, hardly a cloud to block the warmth. Though people seemed to search for the cool chill from an air conditioner, one seemed to be relatively unaffected. She wore a long white summer dress, her hair long and dark. Unlike most, her body usually adjusted to temperature changes. The warm seemed to bother her less than the cold, for example, but being created from smoke and ash what could you expect?
Iyemina had been doing a lot of thinking lately, and a some daydreaming. Most of her "friends" were met at the most awkward of times. Late into the night, the pouring rain, and the dead of winter seemed to be the most common. She even met Tristan and Sedius during those times. I met brother long before air conditioners she thought, smiling slightly.
A long strand of hair whipped around and into her face. Gently, she placed it behind her right ear. It revealed the other lavender eye that must have been some sort of mutation from blue eyes. Whatever, they sure caught a lot of attention- wanted and not. Though it was hard to tell from the outside what she was feeling or thinking about, her thoughts lingered on Tristan. It was known by her group that he was a bad boy, loving to stir up trouble (such as fires). He was also well known to love humans, preferably female, often trying to be one himself. Though he looked only in his twenties, he was over two-hundred years old. Many of "their kind" could fool you about their age, but he was one of the best. He especially fooled all those ladies, but his heart had only been set on one. That one wasn't Iyemina.
She had long forgiven him, but had still chosen not to find him. Iyemina knew that if it was meant to be, they would find each other again. Turning her eyes but not moving her head toward a noise to her left, she observed a boy and a girl playing tag. Oh, how she had missed those days of her very early youth. Funny, she and her brother were playing a different sort of tag these days.
But it was Ennui who held the key to what she desired. His alternate self, Sedius, could be considered unstable. He was known for being very violent, controlling, and having a young calico named Purgatory. Ennui never had a clue. Though at times it seemed Sedius really cared for her, Iyemina knew that if he were to ever love her, he wouldn't exist. Just that silly, smart one by the name of Ennui would be there. And if he were to truly have feelings for her or anyone else, he would no longer be apathetic. He would no longer be a clockwork sorrow. If that were to happen, Iyemina's determination would pay off, her also having the same fate.
For the first time in ten minutes or so, Iyemina smiled again. To be able to feel, love...that would be a gift. "We could do what we were meant to become- totally imperfect. The perfect human."

Entry V
Months past. How long had it been now since Iyemina had spoken to her old friends? A year? No matter how long it had really been, to Iyemina, it seemed as if it had been decades. Which was somewhat humorous, considering Mina's true age was almost older than dirt.
Blinking, she realized that she had been staring off into space. Lifting her chin from her hand, which had been resting on her knee, she took in her surroundings. It was at the time it was about to turn to fall. Not her favorite season, but it easily took second place. She noticed a young mother chasing after her toddler, their laughter filling the surrounding air. Sighing, Iyemina had to stop herself from wanting to cry...despite that she knew she could not even if she wanted to.
A family was something she would never have.
Sedius. What had he been up to these past months? Had he been arguing with Relique, or had Ennui been keeping her happy. Well, making the clockwork inside her smile. Let's face it: their kind had no real emotion at all when it came down to it. Though what was this dreadful feeling that Iyemina had been feeling lately? True sadness? Guilt?
In truth, what had Iyemina been doing these past two months? Her old friends might be shocked to learn that the determined female sorrow was following in her brother's footsteps. She had spent time with humans, hearing their stories of love and tragedy. Something she knew she felt deep inside, despite her supposedly not being able to feel or show such things. These people had come to be like cousins, aunts, and uncles to her. She watched over them when they were sleeping, helped them raise the children, and even learned how to cook. If she had had a heart, it would have been full of joy and knowing that this was where she belonged. It was half of why she was able to forgive Tristan.
Not only that, but she had fallen in love. Atleast she thought she had. One minute she was sitting their, reading some book about a female named Scarlett during the Civil War period, the next her eyes had met the delicate green eyes of a man around the age of twenty-five. His hair was dark, and he was on the thinner side. His grin was like a million diamonds, blinding her purple eyes. She had not realized that she was staring at him until he laughed and sat by her. "I've never seen purple eyes before, but I have read about them. I hear that they are a mutation of blue eyes. They are quite breathtaking." The comment left her speechless, but Iyemina felt something deep insider her turn. Or perhaps it was more of a flip.
Though they had gone out on several dates and kissed several times, the thought of Sedius came rushing back to her every time. She knew that if Sedius ever loved her, or felt any sort of emotion, she'd lose him forever. It was just as Iyemina and her brother were only supposed to truly feel determination. It was with that determination she planned to find him and chat. This might be her final goodbye.
