this episode was brilliant and th rift machine did remind me of the tardis.
Random Thoughts (Episode 12):


-Tosh, just dance! Don't worry about your laptop, you can get a new one! - I did think she was being a bit funny about that, its just a laptop afterall.
-Has Owen moved into the Hub? Or is he just Lazy? (Lazy me thinks) - After Diane left I think he's just given up so he's being lazy.
-Tosh and Jack have gone missing, and Owen just cares about Diane. Typical. That did annoy me a bit.
-Stupid Jack. Don't take peoples names! - I'm not entirely sure why he did that. Maybe he liked him a bit when he was in that time.
-Owen. Put the wires down. Put them down. PUT THEM DOWN! AND STOP ANNOYING IANTO! I hope he dies. - I love Owen so i didn't want him to die, but he was like screaming at him (in my head) or rather the tv. He annoyed me a lot mind because he was annoying Ianto, who i love more.
-Poor Jack (Both Jacks actually.) I felt so sorry for both of them.
-My sister reckons 1940's Jack wears mascara. I thought so too, his eyes look nice though!
-Come one Owen, find the Torchwood file Bilis has! Come on!- I know, when you're looking for stuff, surely you go in the drawers first, unless Billis moved the file.
-Jack..Don't you dare do anything with the other Jack. I did fine that a bit wierd. I kinda just thought, you steal his name and identity, it would be awkward if you feel in love with him, and hello Ianto?
-When did Owen become second in command? I don't remember that. - I'm not sure about that, I'll need to watch the episodes back and see if I just missed it.
-No means no hand holding! Bad Jack! What about Ianto? - I agree, Poor Ianto
-Owen, you're mean. And yay! He's been shot! By Ianto! Mwhahahaha. - I love Ianto and Owen, so the shooting thing was a bit of a mixed bag for me, I was shocked that Ianto could do something like that, but kinda glad because it showed that hes not useless.
-I give up. Jack (Both of you) You're both stupid. It's just as well you aren't the same person. Imagine how much that would mess stuff up.

Random Thoughts (Episode 13):

-And now Lisa. Don't tell him to open the rift!! Things will only get worse. The thing in the darkness will come through. To be fair, they didn't know.
-Finally. Bye Owen *waves* He'll be back, I bet. (Has that lift always been there?) I didn't want him to go, thank God he came back.
-I thought Jack left his coat in 1941? I'm confused.- He did didn't he.
-Haha, Rhys is in a cell. That was funny
-I knew he was evil.
-Gwen reminds me of my sister after he's been stabbed. They are sounding and acting exactly the same. (I just told her that and she hit me over the head. Twice.) Eve Myles' acting was really good in this episode
-Guess Owen didn't get the memo about the not dying thing. - Very few people knew though.
-Haha, Jack and Ianto icon_xp.gif - Yay!!
-OMG! The Doctor? We wanna see him damn it! - I know, but it's like someone said before, they would get into trouble because little kids would want to watch it if the Doctor came into it.

omg. I don't even know where to begin. I'm so overwhelmed.

Basically I loved it!! I had some issues with things but I can't even remember what they were now. Maybe later when I have time to process and watch it again and process more.

Some thoughts:

- I love Jack.
- I love Ianto.
- I love Jack all "the 40s, yay!" when they are in the hotel.
- I love when Ianto says he's more than the tea boy (or whatever) and that Jack needs him and I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS!! Do the writers have something up their sleeves? Tell us more dammit!
- I love Ianto shooting Owen. biggrin
- I love the Jack/Jack dance and kiss (although, yeah, the 40s, not so smart...poor Jack2), but wish it had been Ianto. Why is Gwen the only one that gets to have a relationship that lasts longer than one episode?
- I love that Jack was right about opening the rift. Listen to your leader! He knows things.
- I love Jack calling Gwen on her crappy treatment of Rhys. Someone needed to.
- I love Jack telling Owen he'll need bigger balls if he wants to be in charge of Torchwood. wink
- I love Ianto grabbing Jack's coat when they were leaving Torchwood, even though everything was coming down around them. Because I love that coat.
- I love Ianto straightening the papers on Jack's desk and then picking up Jack's coat and crying.
- I love Ianto's reaction when Jack walks in alive and how he offered Jack a handshake. lol
- I love Jack pulling Ianto into a hug and then kissing him! About damn time! biggrin
- I love when Jack says he would have opened the rift for the Doctor.
- I love the Doctor's glowing hand.
- I love THE SOUND OF THE TARDIS!
- I love the way Jack smiled when he heard it.
- I love that my spec was wrong cause this ending was way better. YAY! biggrin

I'm sad we have to wait months for Jack to turn up on Doctor Who! Too frakkin' long!

I would assume that he knows that she is on the list of the dead. He knew the doctor wouldnt be able to resist getting involved, or that he would be involved unintentionally (much like the games station) so after so many people were pronounced dead or missing, he would want to look on the list for rose, it wouldnt be there, or because she wasnt found she would be pronounced dead. If she was missing, which she was, and pronounced dead, he would most likely assume that she went with the doctor and hasnt been back to earth, so when he gets on the TARDIS, he will be all

"Who are you?"
"Aww, JAck, howcan you have forgotten me, I'm the doctor"
"And who is she?"
"This ... This is martha ..."
"But where is rose? She was on the list of the dead, Doctor, WHere is she? WHERE IS ROSE?"
"She's ... She's gone ..."
"Gone, what do you mean gone?"

etc. etc.

I don't think it'll be like that when they meet. It'll be the Dr talking 19-to-the-doesn as he does. I imagine it to go something like this...

'Jack! Nice to see you again! I'm the Dr if your wondering, I've regenerated. Yes timelords can do that, fantastic isn't it? This is Martha by the way. Jack Martha, Martha Jack. As for Rose, she's gone. She's not dead, if you've seen her on the list of the dead, as you may have done as you work for Torchwood now, it doesn't mean she's dead. Long story, parallel universes, lots of flipping backwards and forwards. Anyway, back to you, how did you get to 2006? Why? How did you get to be head of Torchwood? And why? And why Cardiff? And what was that? Did the rift just open? or did Torchwood just open the rift? How? Why? Have you sorted it? Have you closed the rift? How? Is Earth ok? Is Cardiff ok?' (pause)'Oh and did i say, it' nice to see you again.'

'er, Hi. It's nice to see you too.'

I think he might ramble a little, and then while he is rambling and not facing jack and MArtha, they introduce themselves xd and then he goes "Oh YES! you still have the extrapulator heart heart domokun heart "

OK! i reli wanna know what the hell is going on! i think jack (though hes not called jack anyways) must be in doctor who then. oh well we'll find out eventually! Oh and note to people never ever watch doctor who with your parents...

but jack and jack..get a room will ya!

OH MY GOD!!!! THAT WAS THE MOST AWESOME ENDING!!!!!!!

Bilys. What on earth is he? Who is he? How on earth can he bend time like that and disappear/reappear wherever he wanted to? He seemed very Time-Lordish. And was excellent, I really hope they bring him back somewhere.

I've decided I really don't like Owen. I actually jumped for joy when Ianto (now my hero!) shot him. There was no resolution as to what Ianto actually 'does' other than get tea - sorry, I'm being vague. I mean, what did he do in Torchwood 1? Why was he demoted? There seems to be so much more to him.

Gwen was brilliant. The emotional rollercoaster she went through with Rhys' death was so real, she is just...brilliant.

But Jack in the end stole the show!! Aw, he's just awesome. Did you notice too, he was answering one of Tosh's questions and he said "someone saved my life, and it's like they've been keeping me alive for something"...I'd thought at the end, maybe they're just keeping him alive to fight this Abadonn monster? But then he lived again...so it must be for something else? Maybe something at the end of Season 3 DW?

And the ENDING! I was literally jumping for joy at 2 in the morning when we watched it last night. The Hand seemed to be playing up during it, Owen said the machine was going down or something? But then...glowing. The Tardis noise...Jack's relieved grin. Brilliant. I cannot WAIT to see what happens there. That all but confirms that Torchwood-connections will feature again in DW this year. Why did the Doctor turn up then, there, and just nab him and run? Did the Doctor (or the Tardis) sense that something big had happened to the Rift?
