I definitely do not recommend inducing anemia for cosmetic purposes. As well as causing fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness and fainting spells, it can also make you feel depressed. And it's got to be pretty severe before it makes much difference to how pale you are. The darker your skin is, the less it will show... because it only effects the redness of your blood, not the pigmentation on the surface of the skin.
The best way to get pale and stay pale is to stay out of the sun. This is also a healthy way to do it, which will guard against skin cancer. Try high spf sunblock and a broad-brimmed hat or shade umbrella. Black ones can add real panache to a gothy outfit!
Just remember that you do need a little sun. Vitamin D shortage can cause health problems too!

If you desire to lighten your skin a decent way to do so is simply applying hydrogen peroxide to your skin for no more than 1 1/2 minutes. Shower with cool water and apply lotion directly afterwards. I Do warn you, however, that it should never under any circumstances come in contact with your eyes or mucous membranes as serious pain and conditions will ensue.Yes, this includes eyelids. Whitening toothpaste works well enough on your face but again I urge caution in use. the benefit is that hydrogen peroxide has little to no impact on your skin save to lighten and perhaps kill a few trillion microbes. (the epidermis is comprised of dead skin cells, after all)

Demon princess of Love So lemon juice is acidic. Acids corrode stuff, right? That doesn't sound to good for skin. I don't think It'll change the color of your skin. But who knows for sure? Not me. I've never tried it. But still, I'd advise against it. Actually yah. My mum used to make me rub it on my knees to make my knees softer *She used to say I had sand-pap0r knees ;(* And.. well.. It just made mah knees like.. *really* itchy razz

m a r l o w Demon princess of Love m a r l o w Lemon juice to become pale? XD Never heard of that one before.
I'm super-pale anyway, (courtesy to a million bloodtests the doctors give me to see why I'm pale, only resulting in less blood and making me paler for a while anyway.) but if I wanted a more white sheen to my skin, I slap on the baby powder. It smells nice, and is hyperallegenic/skin friendly. If its good enough for a 2 month old kid, its good enough for me.
Downside: If you wear a lot of black, and you put on a lot, it might rub off and become gray smears. I'd use it only on my face.
This probably fits more into 'make-up' than actual long-term paleing effects. But if you ask me, love the skin you're in! And if you're super-desperate, become a vegan! Low iron = pale complexion. Hey! I'm a vegan for 2 years now, And I'm no paler than I was before. I get enough Iron without animal products. There are some vegetables and vegan foods that have a lot of iron. But under most cases, if you completely (intentionally) drop all the iron in your diet, you'll get a bit paler. However, you'll get sick alot, feel weak, and will have a fairly low immune system.Dropping the iron in your diet is like starving yourself to death to become thin. Unless you have medical advice, do not change the diet you already have. My fiancée has lack of iron in his system, and felt quite awful for a while when his system couldn't handle it anymore. And I'm talking about headaches, dizziness, feeling weak, fatigue, eating less, depression - Do not change your diet unless you have medical advice.

I'm pretty sure the only think lemon juice is good for it making blond hair blonder. I know of several people who put it in their hair and go in the sun, then it lightens it.

Here. 'Tis an recipe with lemon juice for skin paling (called lemon milk skin bleach. sorry vegans!):
¥ou need:
a couple of lemon slices 1 cup of milk yogurt flower water (optional)
Soak slices of lemon in milk for some hours. Strain out the lemon and add yogurt to thicken. Apply this cream to your face and body for some hours so that the bleaching action can take effect. Rinse off with a flower water such as Fennel or Elder.
Ok. I just found a "vegan" one:
¥ou need:
~1 lemon, sliced ~1 cup white wine ~1 tablespoon sugar
place lemon slices and wine in an enamel or glass pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil for one minute. Remove from heat, stir in the sugar, and let cool. Strain the mixture and store in a tightly capped bottle. Use as a skin refresher and after one of the masks.

If you want to bleach your skin, I'd try using a mixture of yogert and whey. Lemon juice is alright for your skin, but I wouldn't use it as a bleach (with the exception of freckles). I put it on my blemishes, zits and freckles, and it really does help with those. But I wouldn't put it on my entire skin.

Wouldn't that curdle?
