"Maybe I think it makes me look older." He grinned a bit, though he doubted they'd actually grow past being stubble around his chin. In reality he hoped it made him and R'ael look a bit more like actual brothers. The concept of being a milk-child to the same mother just didn't have the same 'family feel'.
"Yes we've grown up since then, it's still common courtesy to announce when you're leaving for a party." He glanced to the other boy, raising a slow brow, "No I don't believe we've met before."

Teh_Sil Suddenly the weight of the door seemed so much lighter. Bethan felt her arms sigh in relief. Tilting her head backwards, she saw someone join them. He was older, and by his knots… Some sort of rider. Bethan wasn’t entirely familiar with all the ranking knots yet, though she did try her best to learn quickly.
“Thank you so much for your help.” Wiping sweat out of her eyes, Bethan gave a grateful smile. “I’m Candidate Bethan, helping out here instead of the kitchens, for once.” Another smile, though somewhat crooked.
The other drudges appeared to have finished their job here and were shuffling off to do other work. Bethan felt she should join them, but a short break could never hurt. She’d been doing her fair sure of hauling, after all. “Would you mind if I went to go get a drink of something cool?” There should have been fruit drinks out at that point. She had helped to put up the stand, after all!
Bethan wasn’t entirely sure why she was so talkative (in comparison to her usual self), but she strongly suspected it had something to do with the air of anticipation hanging over everyone. It was like being a child again, just waiting for something you knew would be fantastic fun.
Startled at the younger woman's forwardness after the work was complete, P'athen managed a brief nod of assent, his gaze flicking over towards a trio of workers busily setting up a drink station.
Actions may be louder then words... but not for you. Speak up Mine!
Taken aback even further by his dragon's uncharacteristic interference, the bronzerider smiled weakly. "Ahh, forgive me Bethan, I am P'athen of Seidoshokuth."

Kallista walked around the weyr in a daze. She had the good fortune to be stuck at Rias at Turn's End and was going to enjoy every moment of it. She wondered if she would see Lady Jessmet here. Probably not.
Follar chirped and unsettled himself. The blue, a small sized blue at that, who thought himself bronze, looked about with eyes whirling fast. He was caught up in the excitement and having so many others of his kind nearby. Giving an apologetic chirp, he took off with the impression that he would be nearby.
Grey-green eyes stared watching riders, holders, crafters and so many others just milling and mixing. As a runner, Kallista had learned to take every thing and observe without making herself known... Reddish-brown curls tried to escape her braid. It would be a good time no matter what.
"Go on boy! Enjoy the party! You worked hard enough for several turns last event! Now get!" Citrey shooed N'tren out of the kitchen and into the main area.
Blinking in surprise, the young rider found himself surrounded by thralls of people. Looking down at his clothes, he realised that he was in no state to be seen by others. There were grease stains and flour dusted him from head to toe. Grinning in embaressment to himself, the bronze rider tried to work his way back to his weyr.
This is like flies on sweets! So many people and this time I get to see it all! N'tren exclaimed exictedly to his dragon.
I told you so. Datiath replied smugly.
Hmmm... Was his only reply.
It took some hard work and doing but he finally managed to get to the stairway that led up to the weyrs. His was closer to the top with a nice ledge for Datiath to lounge upon. It would be a long walk up but it would give him time to clear his head before it would be clouded again.
I shall watch over you, rider mine. Was Datiath's warming reply.
"I know beloved. And I will make sure to watch over myself as well. Are you well?"
Yes. There are many friends here on the ledge. It is nice to look down and see all the excitement.
"And soon I will be apart of it. As long as I clean myself up in time."
Chuckling, N'tren began his climb.

"At lot has changed..and for the better I have to say..." He trailed off as he heard the other. A look over R'ael, which was not hard, and a pause at the strange hair. White like his grams but the other wasn't old the face was youthful. How strange.
Sonia chirped back merrily, preening as the bronze showed off for her. She ruffled her wings and looked alluring, as much as a green firelizard could at least.
"No, I'm sure we haven't met. You mentioned him before R'ael though." He thought the white hair and dark whiskers just looked hodgepodge rather like calico patches and had trouble turning a laugh into a cough. "I'm Kalhin, nice to meet you P..G'dor."

Caleten stayed near the shadows at first, the sight of fimilar faces had her rethinking the wiseness of being here. She was a smart holdless traveler, but even she had trouble gathering food and was famished. Gem was fine, she hadn't let either of her pets go hungry.
Another Turn, she reflected, so why had it seen her back here? Finally, she stepped from the shadows and walked towards the party, her cool pride coming off in her posture and gaze. Nothing of her clothing changed, everything below her shoulders as covered as always. She wondered to herself if she would be noticed, well reconized anyway.
R'ael and Kahlin were occupied talking to someone she didn't know, she felt safe in thinking they would not have cause to reconize her, with company and all. Other then that, there were just faces. Except, she thought she saw N'tren; however, as she looked for him, she could not see him anywhere.
Like last turn, she did cut it down some as to not to gain attention from being unfriendly. This time she did not bring Dem'or in, he was a full grown canine and just too much of such for this large a gathering, not that he had and decipline issues. Gem sat proudly on her shoulder, her tail curled around her neck.

Up and back, N'tren went to change into some Gather clothes. He had no marks yet so had to rely on weyr generosity to get some nice things. His tunic was a lively green that nearly matched his eyes and his pants a dark brown. A pair of dark brown boots topped it off.
Running his fingers through his hair a couple of times, N'tren gave a little sigh. Here goes nothing, he told Datiath.
You will do fine. Go have fun. The bronze replied in almost an amused tone.
Taking the stairs two at a time, N'tren made his way back down to ground level.

Caleten just turned to dodge a drudge in an awfully big hurry when her eyes caught someone moving down the stairs. She didn't have to know who to know it was a dragon rider.
Done with all this looking around, she found a table and asked Gem to go up and tell her if she found anyone they knew. Besides R'ael and Kahlin, everyone else she met so did Gem.
Her searching did make her feel better at for one point. No family members or people she had taken from, at least not ones that would have seen her. Feeling comfortable enough, she left the main activity to find an empty table. That only left finding someone to bring her food, though going into the kitchen to do it herself was not a half bad idea.
Gem flew up and looked around, her small wedged golden head tilting this way and that while tried to see everyone from her aerial view. She couldn't resist a few arboreal acrobatics because enjoyed them. However, she really did try not to get distracted from what her friend wanted her to do.

T'bell lingered outside the doors, reluctant to enter. His stomach was doing that funny knot thing like when Liliath took a dive straight down without telling him...except he wasn't on her. He was standing there. On solid rock. Looking at the glimpses of people he could see through the doors like he was on trial for something brash and stupid.
Well it had been brash and stupid, but that was neither here nor there.
He frowned and stroked the pair of flitts using him as a perch. The long-tailed blue curled about his neck like a decoration. Flute, the gold, sat upon his free shoulder and craned her neck at the people. Those were her people and she wanted to see what was going on. Silly rider, it was only a flock of his own kind. He was acting like the blue. She trilled quietly and pulled on his curls, showing her impatience.
T'bell winced and gently detangled her claws with a sigh. "Flute, here..." He pulled her from her perch and she wrapped her tail around his forarm, looking at him expectantly. "Go find K'rel. You know K'rel?" His smile was relieved when she responded to the brownrider's image and he let her go. She immediatly swooped in above the crowd with her important mission. She'd find the brownrider, and then the meatrolls, but the two-legger first.
The greenrider lurked behind for a few moments until a mental shove from his dragon gave him the courage to enter the throng of people before the shove became the endless nagging Liliath was known for. There were so many new people, and old ones. It had been a long time since he'd seen any of them, with his absence and reassignment to the Harper Hall. He looked around for a familiar face, K'rel first on his list, then Lemurrin and Kirana if he could find them.
--
Imirin pinched the dark-haired greenrider as he passed. T'bell jumped. "Just head in. S'not like they're gonna put you to hang fer runnin' off." The trader rolled his eyes at him. Those who knew him would know Imirin spoke in a teasing tone, those who didn't and managed to hear the low-spoken words would be surprised at his rudeness to a rider.
T'bell only shot him a look for his efforts and Imirin gave a shrug and a backhanded wave as he slipped into the crowd, making a beline for the food. The people bothered him, as did the cacophony of flitts and conversation, but the food called. Besides, a time on the road with nothing but that geenriders' sharding whers for company pushed one to the need for human companionship...if only for a brief time.

T'bell and Imirin were not the only two bothered by the crowds. K'rel, at Siventh's prodding, had arrived some time earlier and clung to the wall ever since, a glass now half-filled with wine in one hand. The brownrider was far from pleased to be amid such a noisy gathering, but the wine was gradually helping that, as were the soothing words from his dragon. But he was still allowed to be irritated.
Quite honestly, he hadn't had any intention of turning up for the celebration until T'bell had asked him to. And even then, it had taken all of Siventh's wiles to make him agree to show up. But shown up he had, and now...now T'bell wasn't here. Frowning, K'rel leaned back against the wall and took a long drink from his glass, eyeing the remains critically. He would wait as long as the wine held out.

Flute whirled and banked, uttering a chirp at the familiar form of K'rel and dipping into his line of sight. With a triumphant trill she swooped back up into the rafters and sent her owner an image of where her target was.
T'bell ducked his head and slipped through the crowds with an inner curse. K'rel looked sulky. Maybe if the brownrider didn't want to be here very long it'd give them both a good excuse to leave early. Time was when the dragonrider had been equal parts Harper, and even still he caught bits of conversation and words formed on others' lips, but he'd once again lost the ease of being in a crowd. He hoped he'd get it back once he found his footing in the Weyr again. He made a quick stop at the food table and snatched up some pastries and reluctantly took the wine someone -it was probably Imirin- pushed into his hands before slinking over ot the brownrider.
He gave K'rel a sheepish grin when he found him and offered the pastries he'd picked as an apology. "I um...the crowd." He shrugged by way of explanation. That was the best excuse he could come up with for the moment.

K'rel's head snapped up as the gold suddenly interrupted his view, but he seemed more relieved than irritated at the smile of her, even gracing her with a nod before she darted up towards the rafters. It wasn't long before he saw T'bell heading his way, though he adopted the sulky air once more. He'd might as well enjoy some pampering while he could.
"If I, of all people, can brave this crowd, a once-Harper should be able to as well," he spoke as means of a greeting, but nonetheless accepted one pastry, eyeing it curiously for a moment before taking a bite.

"Well wait until you think everyone is looking at you." He leaned beside him and took one of the untouched pastries. "They're not, but I think they are. And I only just got back." The spiced meat of the pastries he chose surprised him, it was no wonder Imirin had made a line straight for the table. He sniffed the wine experimentally, never having been much of a drinker. His nose wrinkled slightly at the fermented smell, but he took a careful sip. "Have I missed anything of Harper importance? Any drunken antics? Your drunken antics?" He elbowed the other rider lightly and took the oppourtunity to look around.
"Were you waiting long?"

"You forget about my reputation, greenrider. If I show up at any social gathering, people look." He spared T'bell a stoney gaze, but soon grinned, gladly finishing off the rest of the spicy pastry and following with another sip from his nearly-empty wine glass. "There's been nothing of importance that I've noticed, but then, I've done my best to stay out of the spotlight. I'm not drunk enough to entertain anyone just yet."
He paused briefly to critically eye his glass. "This is only my second glass of wine, if that'll enlighten you to 'ow long I've been here."

T'bell groaned and hung his head, offering the last pastry. "I didn't think you'd come down so early. You could have sent Calt to let me know you were here? I may have come in more quickly..."
He eyed the brownrider's wine and smiled. "Another two or three and we'll get to see you let loose? I fear you'll turn into Siventh."

"Calt left me the moment we reached this crowd," K'rel replied as he plucked the final pastry from T'bell's hand. He tore it in half, taking a bite of the first half while offering the second to the greenrider. "I believe he's enjoying the company of the rest of the flitts somewhere in the rafters, though I couldn't be sure."
He craned his head towards the rafters to search for the little flitt--as well as the rest of his group--but there were too many each color for him to easily pick out his individuals. Out of the corner of his eye he glanced towards T'bell, raising a brow. "Do you? Would it bother you if I did, little green?"
