Shawna lifted her head up and saw a girl standing in front of her. She didn't recongnise this girl, but the sun around her made her look pretty.
"Hi..." Shawna sniffed, "No, I'm not really okay..."
She looked up at the girl, moved aside a little, and patted her hand on the space left of her.
"But it's a bit privat..." She said, and started sobbing again.

As the girl started sobbing, Rose sat down and tried to calm the girl down. "Shh...I'm here...it's alright. Maybe if you tell me it will make you feel better? I've been told I'm a good listener." Rose smiled at the girl, trying to cheer her up a little. The girl was very pretty.

What the girl just said made Shawna get hope. Maybe this girl had the answers for her questions. Unlike anyone she'd tried before. She looked up at the girl, and tried to speak. Words came to her, though slowly.
She sighed. "I don't know what to do anymore..." She started, "My dad's being a total jerk, while I'm just sad all the time."
She whiped away her tears quickly, and took a deep breath, trying to stop the new ones she felt coming up. She swallowed once, and continued.
"My boyfriend just left for England, and I can't help but feel horrible." She said, "I just don't know what to do to get rid of this feeling..."

"HE HITS YOU!?!?! No one should hit you! That's so wrong on SO MANY LEVELS!!!" Rose's hand was in a fist and her face was slightly red from rage. "And being upset at something like that does NOT make you a baby. Trust me, I know what it's like to be away from someone you love.'

Taken slightly aback from the care that someone seemed to have for her, Shawna let her lips curl into a short smile.
"Thanks..." She looked away to stop her next stream of tears from coming through.
"The thing that upsets me the most at this point, is my lover being away from me. Other than the fact that he calms my father down, he's just wonderful to hang around. He's the only person I ever felt safe with."
She looked back at the girl.
"Plus that I'm used to my father hitting me..." She whispered.

Shawna looked up very shocked. "I can't stay away from home! If my dad finds me..." She shivered, "I don't even want to know what will happen then..."
She looked down to the ground. "Thank you very much for the offer though..."
However much she wanted to stay with the girl, away from her father, she knew she couldn't. But she wanted to so badly.

Smiling to herself, Ayumi sat down under a large cherry tree, her lunch in her hands. While the States were nothing like back home in Japan, she was glad to find at least one place that was similar to her home. Smiling, she leaned back against the tree as she broke out her chopsticks and opened her lunch. Quietly, she murmured to herself in her native tongue, "Itadakimasu," before starting to dig in.
