She knew their names? How...? Zimwi eyed her, the surprise clear on his face. "How... How did you know our names...?" And that they were coming... This was surprising to him. His mind reeled with such a thought as he mulled this over. Was there something special about her? Maybe it was the little lights dancing about. Those had to be it. They were some sort of familiars. Orange eyes turned to Safura almost questioningly.

She froze, ruby eyes brightening in surprise and fear. This lioness knew their names. She tensed, terrified, because perhaps this lioness was dangerous. She glanced at Zimwi briefly, when she noticed that he had turned his orange eyes towards her. She shook her head, her expression troubled, but also telling Zimwi that this shocking revelation was something she didn't know about either. "I'm sorry if we... were late," she spoke politely, deciding to go along. She wasn't sure if the lioness was dangerous, but she nodded to Zimwi. She would follow him anywhere, and if he chose here, she would stay here. If he trusted this mysterious lioness, then so would she... if reluctantly. This made her miss her adopted family ever more. She narrowed her eyes when she saw the little lights they'd followed earlier swirl around the lioness. Who was she?! Finally, she took a silent, deep breath. She should know better than to worry like this. Safura knew that it was the oddity of the environment around them that her so off-balance. She eyed the lioness. "Were you perhaps waiting for us all this time?" she wondered aloud.

"The spirits, of course." Asali smiled fondly at the circling lights. As a Spirit-talker, she believed her second sight was a gift from the spirits, another way that they could speak to her.

"After a fashion, yes," she answered the lioness, "I've known you would be coming for some time now." Her tail swayed behind her as she gave a nod of her head. "I am Asali'jua, and these are the lands of Jini-misemi."

Amid his gray mane, Zimwi's ears perked up. "Jini-misemi... Spirit-talker...?" It made him rather instantly think of, well... Himself. Ghostly as he was, though not a literal spirit... He often felt like one, going unnoticed in the world by most of those around him... He tilted his head, watching the little lights floating around Asali'jua for a moment. The diminutive little lion couldn't help but feel drawn to them, entranced by the little lights. It was as if they were calling him, telling him to come to them.... He looked over at Safura, orange eyes seeming to dance with an almost unfamiliar sort of light that was only present when thoughts of his love filled his mind. "Can we stay...?" Though quietly spoken, it was directed at not only Safura, but the white and brown lioness as well.

She stared at Asali'jua for a moment, unable to believe her ears. She closed her eyes, almost a way to say that she was giving in. She opened them again as she heard Zimwi speak, and then she sighed softly to herself. She said not a word, only smiled at Zimwi, if a bit awkwardly, and looked at Asali'jua. "...Thank you for your kind indulgence," she spoke carefully. "As such... can we stay?" she repeated Zimwi's question, a hopeful look appearing in her gaze as she watched the brown and white lioness, wondering why she still felt uncomfortable but putting the thought aside. This was for Zimwi; otherwise, Safura wouldn't have come here to start with. She repeated the mantra in her mind. This is for Zimwi...

"Of course you may," Asali answered with a smile, as though she had expected such a request. "It is a quiet place, and the pride small, but it is peaceful. Well," she added, "Except perhaps for when there are cubs."

"Anyone seeking a peaceful life and communion with the spirits is welcome here. We have our customs and our laws of course, which I will teach you if you stay. If along the way you decide these are not the ways for you, you are free to go."

A peaceful life... There was little else in his life Zimwi wanted more than a peaceful life with Safura... "I'll do anything, learn anything..." A step forward, and he could feel the moisture in the earth of the swamp soaking up to his toes. Water... Zimwi loved the water... He'd always loved it, had some affinity for it. It was just something he felt inborn to adore. As a cub, a juvenile, an adolescent, in the dying jungle... He'd loved it, swam in it when he could... He'd not swam since his mane grew in, though, and his soul ached to do so. Here... He felt like he could.
