I don't know if you mentioned this in your review, but they are comming out with another game.

I mentioned mainly one, that being .hack//G.U which was revealed during E3 2005. My assumptions and information is noted in there so just skim through the last segment to find out more.

On other news, I just got wind of yet another .hack video game aside from .hack//G.U and the other unknown game that is being released. The new game called .hack//Fragment was just reported in the making by Famitsu (that really popular gaming magazine in Japan yah know) in Japan . Now it is not certain that .hack//Fragment will be released jus tyet so don't take much of into heart just yet (the project is still in the fog as I know so until I see solid evidence, I can't really recommend people start to look for it). .hack//Fragment is an actual online game version of the .hack universe. You will be able to select out of six classes (Wavemaster, Blademaster, Heavyblade, Long arm, Twin blade, Heavy Axemen) and customize as you see fit (think along the lines of Phantasy Star Online). The games setting in the timeline of the .hack universe is unknown (Due to the name Fragment, some believe it could be another prequel to .hack//SIGN but some say it takes place after the game and before .hack//G.U).

First opinions on the game, I'd say that the game looks very similar to the already released .hack games in the US. Graphics look the same. Dungeons look the same. Everything looks the same. Hopefully, the team working on the project will add a nice face lift to the project and make it a shining star within the .hack franchise.

NOTE: Information recieved from dothackers.net (its a great cite for .hack information. And they have a full Epitaph of Twilight text).

I've never seen it, but my friend said it was good, and I at least know it's complex....*i honestly don't know how anyone can write so much detail in just a few posts* eek

sweatdrop I give a lot of reviews to my friends on a lot of different themes (anything from dogs to anime to improving their sex lives). But ever since I started my company, I specialize in gaming and anime reviews.

And you should see this series. Its very good. wink

It's like WHOA! UPDATE!

Alrighty, Bandai and Cyber Connect 2 have finally released a trailer featuring actual gameplay and voice overs for .hack//G.U!! AMAZING!!! Well it seems that the gameplay has taken quite the fixing. The combat system is very refined to what seems like a mix between Final Fantasy style stat displays with even faster paced action. Also revealed in the trailer was the full scene between Haseo and Tri-Blade (AKA "Dark Kite" or "Kite-looking-guy"). Within it, it would seem that Haseo was indeed Data Drained and now has something within him. But the most reveiling thing is this... At the end of the trailer, was a very short and breif clip of Haseo transforming into Skeith, the Terror of Death, one of the original 9 phases of Morganna. Most may recognize Skeith from .hack//INFECTION as the monster in which Orca fights and gets data drained and put into a coma by, but for those who haven't played the game and have finished seeing every .hack//SIGN episode, it is the monster which Morganna sends to "destroy" the .hack//SIGN cast, in which Sora, as much as people loved him, was data drained and sent into a coma also.

With all this information, I'm left to wonder, "Are the nine already revealed main characters' titles in .hack//G.U named after the 9 phases of Morganna a mere coincidence or could it have some deeper meaning to the story?" Another question is with this new found information, could it be that .hack//G.U is actually a prequel instead of a sequel. Who knows. I guess we'll just have to keep our eyes on the horizon.

To view the trailer, you can go to the official US site at dothack.com or a very special .hack fansite which I love known as dothackers.net. Whichever the case, watch the NEW trailer. Maybe you'll come to make your own theories about it.

ADK wrote more in this thread than he has in any other thread. I didn't know there was a thread for this series either. This was a cool series. I never did finish the games though.

Actually its pretty well known among .hack fans on Gaia. There are two boards circulating the anime forums. I go to the one hosted by Solar since he is a member of the dothackers.com team (which is THE BEST place to look for .hack info in America).

I FRIGGIN' LOVE IT!!!!!!
Subaru's really cute! Tsukasa's cool all around!
Don't much care for the others.
The games were excellent, in my opinion.

.hack (or Project .hack) is a multimedia franchise primarily created/developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai. The series encompasses four games for the PlayStation 2 console, three anime series and several manga series, as well as novels. The franchise primarily surrounds a future in which one operating system, Altimit OS, is used by nearly all computers in the world due to a computer virus named Pluto's Kiss that crashed the Internet, shut down all networked computer and communication network control systems, and sent hundreds of PC users into seizures on December 24, 2005. From that point on, Altimit OS became the only major operating system in the world, and the only OS allowed on the Internet. This is credited to its remarkable stability.

The primary focus of the franchise, however, is the popular MMORPG The World, the first network game to be allowed to run after the events of Pluto's Kiss. It was wildly popular, with over four million users signing up at its launch. The series focuses on a particular set of events known collectively as the Twilight Incident, in which multiple users were forced into a coma while playing the game. Most of the stories revolve around a group of AI, including Aura, Morganna, Aura's "child" Zefie, and various other anomalous AI.
