Around the 15th of every month, you can sell the letters right before and after they've opened for a crapton. S'how I got my loot. :3
I'm gonna stock up on the Dec letters - having three good items in them is gonna cause them to inflate, I think. Lady also said to stock up on the Oct letters, as she expects them to inflate really badly (since the Pixies and Shadow Spirits can be used so many ways).

Yeah, sometimes you get really good items in them - they inflate especially badly if you can't layer them. That is, if you actually *need* more than one to make an outfit (like how I have to have 4 Mythirll equipped just to make Viento's outfit).
Ahh, the joys of Gaia inflation.
